when opening Windows Live Mail on my laptop it started diectly receiving mail. a few days ago, I noticed that i couldn't send and receive anymore. Windows Live mail is trying to connect.... constantly. After 60 seconds a little window appears with: The server SMTP did't react for 60 seconds. Do you want to wait for teh server another 60 seconds?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had windows XP pro and i bought windows vista home premium upgrade, when i went to install it it said that i couldn't upgrade it. So i followed directions on how to do a custom clean install, where you install vista without typing in the product key and without getting updates then you pick what OS you have and do the custom installation, then you install again (2nd time) and choose upgrade instead of custom and go through the process again.
The problem is after installing it the first time, I couldn't connect to the internet, so I couldn't install it a second time. I have an ASUS PQ5 PRo motherboard and when i start up there is this thing called express gate, in express gate I can use the internet but not when i enter Vista. When I put in the PQ5 Pro DVD vista says it can't open it. Also my XP PRO may have been 64bit, and now I am on Vista32 bit and the disck wont work.
I think the internet is a driver problem, if i go to the asus website on a diff computer and get the ASUS drivers put them on a USB and then open them on vista should this work? WHat drivers do I need? Just the LAN one? Also if the Asus DVD wouldnt start up will that mean that I wont be able to open the drivers on the flash drive too?

All of a sudden my windows mail quit working. I can send but not receive. I get no error messages and it seems to be cycling thru from connecting to disconnect. All it says is "no new mail". Been using the att web mail to get my messages that has been taken over by Yahoo and is a major pain in the butt to share with 3 family members. I have uninstalled Norton 360, unchecked the secure box and run all kinds of registry error fixes. Still won't work.

setting up windows mail on new hard drive and can't seem to figure out how to get it right. I am using a live.com email adress. I have already tried getting rid of antivirus stuff and fiddling around with security things. I'm having problems with Windows Mail, I can send mail but can't receive any. I've talked to my provider, they tell me that my set up is fine, but they don't know what's wrong. I'm getting error message of 0x800ccc0f. I've even tried other mail programs, like Thunderbird and Outlook. They don't work either and are giving me the same error message. I'm using a cable connection and haven't had this problem before, until a bought a new computer with Vista. The first day or two, my emails worked great, did not change any settings nor added any programs. Then all of a sudden, started getting the error messages. The only way that I can view my mail is to go to my providers web site and use web mail, which is a pain. I'm just about ready to junk vista and go back to Windows XP. at least, I didn't have problems like this.

There are no error messages, just outbound email sits in the outbox going nowhere and nothing is incoming despite having test emails sent. I also cannot read the sent items folder - it says Folder could not be displayed Windows mail could not open this folder. Possible causes are low disk space low memory. I know this is not the case. I do have several photographs on some of the emails outgoing lately.
