I 've an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 + Vista HP 64 bit. I've seen on INTEL site that this mobo don't have Intel Virtualization Technology infact I've tried by VirtualBox (and other similar SW) to guest Windows 7 with negative result. I'd like to know if with this mobo is impossible or I have to find the right sw?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a simple text file with a certain word in it. I try to find this text file, but vista won't find it. Windows 2000, linked by network, finds it within a second.
I have tried all available options.
"include non-indexed"
"always search file names and contents"
"find partial matches"
"include subfolders"
etc
etc
It just doesn't work. Why is there not a simple search function that actually works like in windows2000? I am using Vista Ultimate 64 bit. But not having a working search function doesn't look that "ultimate" to me.
I'm using Vista Home Premium - I generally use Outlook 2007 for my e-mail and organising but recently went to Windows Mail to find a Newsgroup (unavailable in Outlook). However, no Newgroups were visible. Unable to find a way to find them I clicked on "Help" and the advice includes "Click the Tools menu, and then click Newsgroups." However, there is no "Newsgroups" option in the Tools menu that displays. The Windows Mail I have is version 6.0.6000....

Error message is " [Window Title] Windows Internet Explorer [Content] Cannot find 'file:///C:/Users/username/AppData/Local/Temp/Low/CJ30HFE8.htm'. Make sure the path or Internet address is correct. View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem that everytime when I open a folder with mpeg-file the windows gives an error message about that host process stopped (rundll32) so it seems that I have an error with codec lmpgspl.ax. This problem started when I downloaded the ACE Mega Codecs pack and I have HP lap top. The update from HP website didnīt work.
I have read through the threads about this problem and it seems that the solution is to rename the file, because I wasnīt able to unregister the file. Problem is that I canīt find the file from my computer. I have changed the option from control panel to show all the hidden files, but still my searches are without results. In one post Malke recommended to find the dll-file from system32, but I only find rundll32.exe, but I havenīt had the guts to rename that file because I believe that is the wrong one.
I have already tried all the other solutions that windows and many others have posted on these forums, but really donno what to do.

When I go to 'My computer' the drive is there, as soon as I enter a game or a cd of any kind into the drive there is no auto play and the disc drive disappears completely from 'My Computer' I went to device manager and it is there, said its working properly. I tried to update drivers and it all up to date.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed a Lexmark 6200 printer on a Acer Laptop runing Vista Home Premium. The installation took a long time but went to completion. I used the Lexmark disk for the install. The 6200 displays on the Control Panel screen as "Ready." I made it the default. The printer is pluged into one of the USB ports.
The problem: nothing prints. I sometimes get in an error message - can't find printer. But typically, when I do File>Print nothing prints. I have tried using Works, NotePad and Open Office Writer with the same results.
I may not understand how Windows Explorer's Search (W/E Search) is supposed to work. I know how the Find in the DOS Window works, so let me start with an example using FIND. My expectation that both have similar capabilities is perhaps misplaced. In the "search for content" thread below I describe the steps I took to make sure the .DAT extension is in the index control panel, and re-indexed several times to insure that .DAT files are in the index.
I have a folder named TPL which I think has been indexed. It has about 5000 text files in it most of which happen to have the extension .DAT, and several other text files, some of which have the extensions .INC and .TXT. View 4 Replies View RelatedI received a notice from Facebook that a movie was taken of me at my neice's wedding, and so I went to the You Tube to view it but I was advised to download the latest version of Adobe. I did so, with no apparent result. The next time I rebooted my computer, One Care Firewall told me that the program ld08.exe was trying to access the Internet. I blocked it from doing so, and Googled ld08.exe to find out it is a virus. I can not find it (ld08.exe) in my computer anywhere, but every time I start my computer, One Care Firewall advises that it has blocked the program ld08.exe again. I can see it in my Task Manager listed in 'Processes' but I do not know enough about computers to end it.

Main problem is trying to connect to an external monitor: Viewsonic VA1912w. I cannot find any drivers which will let this happen. View 7 Replies View RelatedIn the process of trying to get current (I am within 2000 messages) with the messages in this group, I have seen many requests for help with problems about attachments. I am interested in helping diagnose the problem if I can.
I don't need help with a workaround; I don't mind saving attachments, which works for me. I am a developer with Visual Studio 2008 and such and I will attempt to diagnose the problem if possible.
I had assumed I don't have the problem but I am getting the following when I try to view a jpeg attachment:
"Windows cannot find 'Photo0192.jpg'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again."
Is that the same problem most people are getting when they have a problem
with attachments?
The only thing I am aware of that might have caused a problem is that I installed IE 8 when it was still very buggy, and then I uninstalled it.
Later at some point Windows Update re-installed IE 8 (I assume that happened when IE 8 was released). I assume that since most people encountering the problem are non-technical, they would not have installed a beta version of IE 8.
Could the problem be a security problem? If so, could it might help to audit security failures? I am not sure of the details of doing that, but I am interested in trying things such as that if it helps diagnose the problem for Microsoft to know what to fix.
get rid of a program, have looked in programs and features its not there looked in program files its not there looked in start-programs its not there i can click on control panel and its in the control panel but will not let me do any thing from there, i dont rember installing the program and i dont use it any how, i have windows vista 32-bit than you.

I copy the filename exactly and then paste it in the search box on the start button. Vista says there are no such files. Meanwhile I'm looking at at least one copy of the file in another window?
How can I search my entire harddrive for a file since the old XP search seems to have been removed?
