UAC Needs Permission To Continue
Nov 5, 2009Everytime I open them I get a little box that says "User account control" "A program needs your permission to continue". This is a real PIA. How do I eliminate this without turning UAC off?

Permission To Continue Box Pops Up
Jan 8, 2010I have a legit copy of CS4 Premiere Pro because several people have asked me that and not given me answers. Problem is that I click on the setup.exe icon and the "A Program Needs Your Permission to Continue" box pops up, I say 'continue' and the box goes away. From that point on, nothing happens AT ALL. Just that box, and that is it!

Dec 2, 2007I downloaded Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser a short while ago and it was working fine. But then my Vista automatically updated and I think that was where the problem started. I think in the update it heightened the security on my computer, not necessarily a bad thing but annoying because every time I launch Firefox it has to ask my permission to continue.
I think this is because it is trying to access the internet and is not microsoft software. I have looked it up in windows help and have a slight suspicion that it might be to do with something called "user account control". It helps stop unauthorized changes to your computer. Is there any way to convince it that Firefox isn't harmful and make an exception for it?

Jun 4, 2009ive just installed a new heatsink and CPU fan to replace the standard one on an Intel Q9400. The CPU fan works fine I can see it spin and adjust the fan speed from a panel that comes with it but for some reason when I boot up my computer it tells me CPU fan error and press F1 to continue.I assume because the fan is still working this is not a problem but should I be worried.

Dec 23, 2009here its how it all started. i wanted to uninstall a program, but it didnt let me because it said that i didnt have the administrator rights.so i googled how can i have the rights and i got a page telling me to use 'control userspasswords2' and make myself the main one. so the computer restarted and then i tried to delete the program and now it says 'Windows needs your permision to continue ' and asks me for an administrator password that i dontt have. i am the main user of this computer and i guess i was the standard user. now when i try to run certain programs, the permission is denied. how can i get the permission from windows back. enable the permission. keep in mind that i am not allowed to click on the " continue" when that window appears.! i cant even download programs!

Aug 20, 2009I have a Microsoft optical mouse. It's a couple of years old and I'm trying to determine whether it's faulty or not. The problem seems to be with the scroll wheel. When on a webpage and using the wheel to scroll, often the page will continue to scroll (only another 50 or so pixels) after I've released the mouse. It seems to be at least a full second or two after I've finished scrolling, let go of the mouse then the page continues to scroll (only by one increment/decrement). It doesn't seem to be the wheel clicking into place either, as I first thought. I'm trying to find out if anyone else has experienced this and/or whether it could be a registry setting or something else causing this. Otherwise, it's a hardware issue.

Feb 14, 2009My windows vista crashed for no apparent reason and it will continuously direct me to a black screen with an option to continue normally or launch startup repair. Normal startup doesn't work, and the repair gives me the message "cannot repair this computer automatically". I send the info to microsoft and it gave me no options to fix it And although I have attempted the repair several times already, for some reason it says number if repair attempted:1

Note this is the results from 2 separate occations I have tried System restore to an older date but it did not work. I have tried safe mode, did a dskchk with /f but didn't do anything.

Jul 29, 2009I turned DEP off by reading the vistax64 forum. when i rebooted, a big problem raised. windows vista ( home premium ) crashed to continue. i selected safe mode and other F8 choices...but still problem is there. then I used Vista DVD to repair startup...problem not solved. I used system restore...but not worked.

Can Vista Backup Be Set To Continue The Existing Backup Onto An Additional Drive

Mar 26, 2008I have installed Vista Ultimate. I've networked it and loaded Office 2007, adobe, cuteFTP and AutoCAD 2008. Everything worked great. I moved it to the work station area, and the only thing different I connect was a new 24" HP monitor. I found and installed the drivers for the monitor. I get no ? or errors in device management. But upon bootup every time I get this error message. "This computer must be restarted before updating can continue. Would you like to restart now." All of the MS updates have been done. I can still access the network, all programs seem to run correctly. I can surf the internet with no problems.

Feb 7, 2010Last night I was trying to get rid of some of the virtual memory on my laptop.
It has 320 Gb and 260 Gb are occupied so since I only have 80 Gb on the HD, I was trying to fix the problem.Well instead to fix the problem I made a mess somehow I changed the users and Admin' options, and I changed all the permissions to the accounts two accounts!! I was trying to get control of the system like a TrustedInstaller.instead.the laptop works but I have no access to anything!
Right now I basically have no permission only reading NO ACCESS to the hard disk ...no access to most of the systems' folders .
In prompt I can not really do anything since it denies every my request.

Mar 1, 2009I am SO bored, because everything in Vista must Allow or Deny. And even though i ALLOW, ME, the ADMINISTRATOR, THE OWNER from the Computer has the acess Denied. Thats dumb, i think. i was wondering, how can i Take Ownership from my WHOLE computer and have the Full Permission from just everything. In a way to grant Acess to whole Notebook. How do i do it? I know its possible cause in a Modified Windows Version it was like that.

Well, let me clarify that - I can see the files, but I get the permissions error when I attempt to open or copy the files, individually, in groups, or by parent folder.Duh. Apr 24, 2010For some reason, my laptop has installed 6 different versions of vista on it. On my C: drive they're called windows.old.5 or windows.old.4 etc. They are taking up half the space on my hard drive! Any time I try to delete them it tells me that i need permission to perform this action, but I am the only person who uses the laptop as it is mine. What can I do? I have looked at other threatds with this problem, I have made myself administrator, tried taking ownership over the files, and they still won't delete.

In this second hd i can't change the permission of the folders (i've got a folder with read only permission that i can't remove).
