"The Windows Vista Home Premium Product Key You Typed Is Invalid For Activation"

Mar 23, 2008

*My laptop came with Vista Home Premium installed.* I downloaded a Flash-BIOS update as per advice of my HP Care Centre. After it was done installing my laptop shut off (as I was told it would do). When I turned it back on, I was prompted to enter a Product Activation Key. I entered the Windows Product Key as shown on the sticker on the base of the laptop. The message I received was "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" For the record, YES, I am entering the code in properly.

The Vista Home Premium Product Key You Have Entered Is Invalid For Activation

Feb 3, 2010

i turned it on i was shown the above error message on a black background, with three options - 1. Access your computer with reduced functionality 2. Enter different product key 3. These are my only options, i have no access to deskstop, or start key etc. I have reentered my product key numerous times and also reentered a new product key given to me by microsoft customer support on the telephone but neither was accepted and i received the following error message with both product keys: Code 0xc004f050 . The people on the microsoft customer support number could not help me any more and refered me to Medion, who referred me back to microsoft! I have not performed any updates to Vista or uninstalled any drivers etc.

"product Key You Typed Is Invalid For Activation"

Apr 24, 2008

Last night, all was well with my computer. Woke up this morning with a black desktop (icons still intact) and a window stating. "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation."

My choices are:
*Buy a new product key online
*Type a different product key
*Contact Dell to help resolve this problem

Dell has not been very helpful to me in the past so I hesitate to call them.(My Dell came pre-installed with Vista. I installed SP1 a couple weeks ago without incident.) I made NO changes to my computer between last night and this morning.

Expired Product Key Of Windows Vista Home Premium

Mar 23, 2008

I recently received a new computer with all new parts that had Windows XP Media Center Edition on it. I had my copy of the upgrade disc for Windows Vista Home Premium and wanted to upgrade. Well now Windows is telling me that my Product ID has expired and when I try to re-enter the ID it says it is not valid, even though it is a legitimate copy of Windows Vista. I did have this installed on another computer but then reverted back to XP for other reasons. Is there any way to get my system registered without buying another product key?

Product Key Invalid For Activation

Nov 25, 2007

I was redirected to a window that said "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" -- quite a surprise, considering that Vista had worked near-perfectly for the 4 months that I've had my laptop, and that I've never had to key in a product key before! When I chose the option to manually type the product key, I received error message 0xCD004F050 with several warnings that I might be the victim of counterfeit software (again, quite a surprise!). I called the vendor's (Lenovo) customer support line, but the representative told me that I needed to get in touch with Microsoft. I called MS's customer support, but didn't want to pay a representative, especially if the only solution is to purchase another version of Vista.......

VISTA Product Key Is Invalid

Jun 11, 2008

My daughter has a dell laptop with Windows Vista installed by Dell. She has had the computer for 9 months. Today while trying to startup her computer, she got a message that her VISTA product key is invalid. Of course the recommendations involve getting on line with the computer which will not open windows. The other resolutoin suggested is to type in the product key on the computer. I am reluctant to do that since it says that if VISTA does not start up then Windows will be lost and the computer may not work at all.

Home Premium Activation

May 20, 2008

When I purchased Vista Home Premium Upgrade a year ago, I upgraded from XP and did a "clean install" that allowed me to wipe my C drive and start from scratch. I did a 2nd clean install a week ago to start over again after experiencing slow response and wanting to start fresh. I'm now getting an activation notice and when I enter the code, I'm told this version cannot be used for a clean install and that I have to purchase another license. Who can I contact to resolve this issue as I paid for the Vista upgrade and the 1st install a year ago went just fine with no activiation issues?

Firefox Start Up In Windows Vista Home Premium 64 Bit

Nov 23, 2009

Whenever I start Firefox on my Vista home premium 64 bit system, I always get a window asking me what I would like my home page and search engine to be. I check yahoo for my home page and my search engine, check "don't ask me again" and save. However when I start firefox again, it goes to the firefox welcome page and the same box pops up again. Anybody know what's going on? This is a recent phenomenon, and happens no matter which search engine or home page I select.

Error Message When Windows Mail (Vista 64 Home Premium SP1) Tries To Send E-mails

May 10, 2010

I'm getting the following error message when Windows Mail (Vista 64 Home Premium SP1) tries to send e-mails from my laptop: The connection to the server has failed. Subject ..., Account: 'verizon.net', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 587, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E. Downloading incoming mail is not a problem, and I obviously can post to newsgroups. Although this is a new problem, I turned off Norton's checking of outgoing mail - no change. Verizon had us change to Port 587 last year so that's not the issue either. WM does send e-mail from my desktop so apparently the problem is specific to the laptop.

Couldn't Upgrade Windows Vista Home Premium, Couldn't Connect To The Internet

May 5, 2009

I had windows XP pro and i bought windows vista home premium upgrade, when i went to install it it said that i couldn't upgrade it. So i followed directions on how to do a custom clean install, where you install vista without typing in the product key and without getting updates then you pick what OS you have and do the custom installation, then you install again (2nd time) and choose upgrade instead of custom and go through the process again.

The problem is after installing it the first time, I couldn't connect to the internet, so I couldn't install it a second time. I have an ASUS PQ5 PRo motherboard and when i start up there is this thing called express gate, in express gate I can use the internet but not when i enter Vista. When I put in the PQ5 Pro DVD vista says it can't open it. Also my XP PRO may have been 64bit, and now I am on Vista32 bit and the disck wont work.

I think the internet is a driver problem, if i go to the asus website on a diff computer and get the ASUS drivers put them on a USB and then open them on vista should this work? WHat drivers do I need? Just the LAN one? Also if the Asus DVD wouldnt start up will that mean that I wont be able to open the drivers on the flash drive too?

I would like to check the memory for errors BEFORE I load/install Windows Vista Home Premium x64 to avoid install hang-ups. Can you make an ISO CD of this program, load it in your CD/DVD drive and check your memory for errors? I recently updated the BIOS on the board (DP35DP) and it does show all of the 4GB of Kingston ValueRam PC800 1.8v (2x2gb) installed. I have good reason to believe that it's from a respectable manufacturer. Just want to make sure the memory is good before I load up the OS.

How do I rid myself of Vista Home Premium on this computer now? It's taking up around 52 Gig of space.

Fax/scan For Vista Home Premium

Jun 28, 2008

I'm thoroughly DISGUSTED with MicroSoft for removing this feature from the program. I used this feature frequently. If I had known this prior to recently purchasing this system and upgrade--I probably would not have. Microsoft, you've gotten so big that you seem to feel it's okay to 'dog-out' your loyal customers without any negative ramifications to you.

Vista Home Premium Can Not Reinstall

Jan 17, 2009

While working in Vista Home Premium I experienced a recent system failure and I do not know if it was caused by a virus. I had the AVG Free Edition installed and it was up to date. I decided to perform a clean reinstall using the Vista DVD Installer, but at a certain point a message appears onscreen informing that Vista can not be installed, and that some required files may be missing or corrupt. It also points that there might be a hard disk failure. However, I was able to perform a clean reinstall for openSuse to keep working with my PC. Before the Vista system failure, the double booting process had been working well for more than a year.

Vista Home Premium Download

I have a problem that I am unable to download things. I click download and the bar fills up with blue and it says saving to desktop, but when I click to the desktop, nothing has downloaded. I have tried using 'run' instead of save and the blue bar fills up and it says saving to temporary folder, but then nothing. I can't open e-mail attachements that need downloading or download any thing from the net at all.I have tried several system restores to various different dates and got something to save to the desktop once, but now anything I try and download doesn't download.I have tried running the computer in safe mode with networking but the problem still occurs. I have also tried resetting internet explorer, but again that does nothing. i have tried sfc /scannow , but it came up with no violations or errors. PLEASE do not ask me to download another OS, as I can't download anything!!!!

Install Vista Home Premium

Please forgive me for not being very knowledgable, but I'm doing the best I can. I've got a laptop and I'm trying to install Vista Home Premium on it (I have no idea whether or not it's x64 or anything like that). I put in my product key and it works fine, but when it asks where I want it installed, it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style." No matter what I do, I cannot get it to work. I keep getting that same message. I don't know what to do.
