I have a HP laptop with Windows vista home edition, and this has never happened to me. It started today, in which I thought it was nothing. I'm a little worried to be honest and I don't know what's wrong with my connection. I can access the internet on my mother computer which is a desktop, yet I can't on my HP laptop. it says "The Dependency Service or Group Failed to Start"?
I have a HP Pavilion a6400f desktop running Vista Home Premium and IE7 as browser. After a blue screen crash, the system recover itself, but has since then been unable to connect to the internet or to my network. I get the red X in the lower right side corner of the screen. When I point to it says "Connection status: unknown the dependency service or group fail to start." When I click Diagnose and repair, a window comes up saying "network diagnostics cannot run because the diagnostics Policy service is not running." Then, I opened the service control Manager and try to start the DPS manually, but i get Windows could not start the service on Local Computer. Error 5: Access is denied.
have you wanted to ask: I have the red x over my connection status and it says “connection status: unknown. The dependency service or group failed to start.” here is the fix... I’ve used: 1. Go to Start > Run > cmd 2. Copy/paste the following line and hit your Enter key: Net localgroup Administrators localservice /add 3. Reboot your computer.
I stupidly deleted C:UsersMyName tuser.dat. Now when I try to log on to my account, I get the message "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon." I am now logged on to my Administrator account to post this message. All of my files that I use daily are in the MyName account. I deperately need to be able to access the MyName account. How can I restore the ntuser.dat file?
After posting this, I checked C:UsersMyName tuser.dat and saw that it is now listed after I rebooted the computer, but I still cannot login to my account.
I have the following error message when trying to login to vista on my laptop:
The User Profile Service service failed the login.
User profile cannot be loaded.
Just before the problem happened I was working to remove the Anti Virus Live virus from my laptop via the techsupportforum.com forum.
Two things I did within the hour of the problem happening are:
1. I ran the malware removal program OTL
See step 5 at (http://tinyurl.com/pr92qn)
2. I cleared and set system restore's cash-
as instructed in post#23 on my techsupportforum.com thread
(Anti Virus Live on my Laptop - Page 2 - Tech Support Forum)
Further details-I can and am able to login to Safe Mode I do not have a program called System Restore in the System Tools folder In Safe Mode I was able to change my password, but in normal mode I get the same error message I did windows updates and then tried to remove some of those updates, with only a few files that wouldn't allow me to delete them. Thank you for visiting my thread. If anyone has any ideas on how I can fix my problem it would be great to hear about them.
For the past few weeks I've been having an issue with an Apple made service called "Bonjour Service". That service is used in several pieces of software including iTunes (which I do not use) but also some Adobe applications (Version Cue for example) and the font management utility I use which is Extensis Suitcase 11.0.1 for Windows.
Both Version Cue and Suitcase depend on the Bonjour Service to work and I have had no issues with it for months but recently, the Bonjour Service stopped working and would not start anymore. It now gives this error message when trying to start it:
"('Bonjour Service' failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
My user account is an admin account so privileges is not an issue. I had made no changes to my system myself before the Bonjour service began to "refuse" starting but I remember that I installed a few Windows updates a couple days prior. My machine is always on and I don't re-boot everyday.
So I was wondering if anyone has heard of the issue and knows how I might fix it or if anyone can give me pointers on how I my start trouble shooting this and find what started preventing the Bonjour Service from starting. FWIW, the Windows Firewall is already off and turning off my anti-virus doesn't help (Eset NOD32).
When I attempt to logon I get the following message: "The Group Policy Client Failed The Logon." (The only way I can logon is to hit the F8 key and go to "Last Known Good Configuration.". Every solution I search for seems to believe this is ONLY a problem for systems with multiple USER ACCOUNTS. I have this problem and I have only one User Account on my computer. The Guest Account is OFF. There has never been a Guest Account set up. I am the Administrator. I even tried turning the User Account Control to OFF but it didn't make any difference.
I only have one account on my computer and its my administrative account. When i try to log on this message pops up and it: Group Policy Client Service Failed the logon Access Denied and then it logs me out i cant even enter my computer if someone could tell me how to fix it without having to send in my computer for repair and paying 200 something dollars.
Is it possible to automatically open several web pages as a tab group when Vista starts - using IE8? I have had three web pages in my startup folder, and with IE7 these usually ( but not always) started as a tab group. With IE8 on Vista (and Windows7) the three web pages appear as three separate Internet Explorer windows sessions.
I had my name and my mum decided to go on her name to get parental control, when she realised it blocked even google, she took if off but kept her name On tuesday the 11th i tried to get on my name only everything was grey and really old so i restarted my computer. The message came up when i tried to get on the name! I have tried to use system restore but it will not let me go as far back as the 11th (today being the 23rd) and it really sucks I do not want to delete the username because my iTunes account is on there plus my songs that i paid for!! I also tried safe mode by pressing F8, that didnt work because there was no way on entering it on safe mode as it came up different ways into enter the computer eg hard drive, removable drive etc does anyone have a solution (btw i am new here so i dont know if this is in the right place lol)
When I tried to log in to my computer I got "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" Is there something I can do to fix this? My main concern - aside from this new Dell machine - is the photos.
When I try to install service pack 2 I get this message: Installation was not successful. A system error prevented the service pack from installing. Please download and run the "Check for system update readiness" tool at Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, and for Windows 7. If the "Check for system update readiness" tool doesn't fix the problem, visit the microsoft website for more information. Error: TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE(0x800b0100)
So you guys know that Antivirus Suite? Well a couple of days ago I was like JESUS! How do I get it out of my computer? But then I got it resolved by the help of Malware Bytes. BUTTT, the next day, my older sibling thought it wasn't "trustworthy" so he decided to delete it. Now, the computer before it starts says it checks the __ drive ( I forgot) and then all my applications just stopped working. Like AIM malfunctioned, Itunes malfunctioned, the sound on my browser stopped working ( oh, Itunes notified saying that the audio configuration didn't work so yeah...), my browser thank god still works, and everything else.. Well it's infected with errors and blah blah blah.
-I checked out the Windows Service Installer and tried to repair it, but it failed. -I can't download anything on certain browsers, but for all browsers, I can't save things like pictures. -Yes, I tried F8? or F9 I forgot Dx to try to do a startup repair, but that failed. And I tried system restore, but for some reason it all got deleted, and I hope I don't have to F11 and restore it to it's factory settings haha... -ANDDDD, I'm not breaking a limb for no Geeksquad haha, it's DTM (doing too much)!Lastly, I blame my sibling... >:0
Computer (OS=Vista Entreprise) gave me this msg "The user profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded." My account is an administrator account I try to repair this with a solution that I find on the Net (Computer-System properties-Advanced-UserProfiles-Delete) What happened was that I lost a substancially number of Files (access,excel...and so on).
I have had a Lenovo 3000 n100 laptop with what I think is Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit (does that sound right?) for a few years. Within the first year I had it my hard drive crashed, I managed to save it but I lost all my files. Today I tried to log onto my administrator account for the first time in a few weeks and I recieved the error "User Profile Service Failed the Logon". I searched for a solution and this is what I found..
Quote: 1. I closed down.
2. Turned computer on and immediately pressed F8 repeatedly until I got "Advanced Boot Options".
3. used the down arrow to select "Safe Mode" and pressed enter.
4. computer then opened eventually in the funny look of safe mode, with
a "Help" window.
5. In the help window there is an underlined "What is System Restore?" Clicking on that gave me the answer and "Click to open System Restore"
6. I clicked on that and a new window came up recommending restoring to a previous state before windows update which I had done before the fault occurred.............
I recently installed an automatic upgrade and now I'm getting "The User Profile Service service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded" when I turn on the computer. My only option is to click on an OK key. The computer then gives one logon key and when I click on it give me the USER PROFILE CANNOT BE LOADED message again. Only options given with logon key are improve use of screen and restart, sleep, hibernate, and shut down key. It will not let me start in safe mode and will not give me access to the START button. I've tried every option available to me; even tried ctrl/alt/delete with no success. PLEASE HELP!
Have suddenly had "The User Profile Service failed the login" message come up and although I've found the tutorial to fix it on this site, my problem is that I am the only user and there is no other profile on this computer that I can log into. So my question is, how do I get into the computer in order to switch to safe mode and then follow the tutorial?
Dell Inspiron, Microsoft Vista Home Premium, 1918 MB RAM, 2.8 Windows Experience Index, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55, 1.80 GHz, updates current as of March 24, 2008. Attempting to log on to my main user account produces the following screen. The User Profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. OK Microsoft Vista Home Premium.
I cannot get into the account, even after logging in as Administrator and resetting the password for the account. Anyone know what has happened and how to fix it? I have copied all the user documents including AppData to another account, but it is still a pain and I would like to know how to prevent it.
I am trying to create a new user for my computer running on Vista home Premium. It says that it has created it but no folders have been created for it and when I try to logon it says somethin like 'the user profile service failed the logon' I've tryed going into regedit and doing that .bak thing but it hasn't worked.
I'm still with WinXP, but been to help friend with adding extra RAM to his Vista Basic 512mb Ram. I took out the 512 mb and replaced it with 2 x 1gb RAM bought from Crucial UK for his PC. There has only ever been 1 account, and at bootup the password for this account was asked for. We entered the KNOWN password (it's never been changed from new, approx 11 months) and we got ;- "User profile service failed the logon, user profile cannot be loaded", which slowed us down a bit :-) We took an option to "reset password - put disc in drive with password on" (or something similar), but he has never created such a disc. To repeat - the password entered 'was' correct.......
When logging on this morning, received "User profile Failed the Logon, User Profile Cannot be Loaded" message. Any support I read instructs "Click Start" then proceeds with additional instructions. Problem...There is no access to "start" on the logon screen. Does anyone know how to get past this or to resolve.
I am trying to logon to my computer and am getting The User Profile Service failed the logon message for both my Lucy and Lucy Administrator profiles. I have looked on here to find a solution and have tried to do a system restore but it tells me that there are no settings to restore to ?? Most other messages just dont make sense as Im not great at dealing with computers when they go wrong! I would be really grateful if anyone knows how I can sort this out. The only thing I can do is log into Safe Mode and I have no idea where to go from here!
This started with Windows update, it wouldn't even download, just gave me an error. I tried Safe Mode and no good, then back to normal mode and it worked! I was happy. Sp2 started installing and got through stages 1 and 2 then rebooted, got through stage 3 up to 100%, paused for a few minutes then said the service pack failed to install and it started undoing everything. I've tried this a number of times over the past year since it was released and it has always failed. Just for disclosure's sake, I have OSX installed on another partition, but that was installed in June when the SP2 trouble started back in January, so it shouldn't be related.
I receieved and installed 9 updates today from Microsoft. After rebotting, I am getting the following error: Failed to connect to a windows service. Windows could not connect to the System Event Notification Service service. This problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn???t respond. I am running Vista Home Premium.
Ive been having endless problems with my vista. Firstly, I had the error message "Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile." for a good month or so, I was in the middle of exams and didn't want to risk trying to fix it myself, I was advised the best option would be just to reinstall vista, but I wasn't sure the best way to go about that either. Now on my laptops first birthday, I stopped getting this error message, and started enjoying usual computing again, until I started getting this message instead.
"The User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded."
If I complete a system restore a few times I can access my account again, but after a day or so I start getting the error message again. All my old files (from before the error messages started appearing) are under my old user folder which I can access in users. I renamed it at some point during the time of the first error message. I thought that because of this I could delete my main account, and make my secondary account an administrator instead. (not sure if thats the right way to go about things, as the first option the thread for this error provided was not working) and now I cannot access my control panel, or windows updates, to tamper with user accounts.
In the course of troubleshooting a problem with MC in Vista Home Premium (32-bit) I have discovered the the BITS service is competely missing in the Services section. I need to add and restart this service to fix my other problem. How do I add this service to my list again?
We have a Vista Ultimate installation with all service packs installed. Both the local security policy and the domain policy after joining a domain have the reserved accounts NETWORK SERVICE and LOCAL SERVICE configured to start as a service. If we disconnect the notebook from the domain and restart it, the Windows Firewall service refuses to start. All attempts to manage the firewall fail because the service reports it has not started. If you manually attempt to start the firewall service it fails. As soon as we put the notebook back on the domain network and reboot it works. Does anyone have any insight on why this happens and how we can get the firewall to start? Any sequence that effectively prevents the firewall from starting strikes me as a pretty serious misfeature. The notebook is often used to configure devices by cross connecting straight to the device, so we cannot count on being on the domain network, but clearly we want a working firewall at all times.
Well, I have the following, known, error: "The service User Profile-Service failed the logon. The User Profile could not been loaded" (note I've got the Dutch version, so my error messages may be a bit confusing ^^) I've already tried multiple tuturials to fix this, containing tut's of your Administrator Brink. None worked. Now, what happens to be:
After creating the profile through the User Aaccount Management console, I choose for the option "Logon to other user", and try to login to my newly created account. After typing the pass the above error message appears. I only have my (first) admin account that works, but I want to have more accounts on my notebook............
