I installed Vista Business 3 days ago, and I dont see how to send an e-mail with an attachment simply right clicking on the file / Send To /Mail Recipient, as I was used to do with Outlook Express.I don't really want to use Outlook 2003. Does Windows mail really have this limitation?

I am having an issue after recently obtaining Comcast as my ISP (i am receiving mail but unable to send). I am formerly a bellsouth.net customer, but would like to continue using Windows mail. I have read and followed several different threads and nothing is working...I am connceted to the internet wirelessly..did not have to install Comcast cd....email scanning is off...what else can I try?

I have verified Windows Mail is set as my default mail pick but it does not work. Some setting must have changed but I don;t know how to check this out further......hoping for a clue as to where I might check or change so this simple function is enabled again.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse which work really well but when I reboot, the keyboard shortcuts that I have programmed don't work until I go into properties and click on them and then click ok. The keys then work ok until I reboot again.Is there any way that I can programme the changes so they are the default programmes whenever I reboot. The software loaded fine and I clicked on apply and save when I originally set the keys.....I have a HP Pavilion DV6700 Laptop with windows visa home premium which is about one month old.

After spending a lot of time trying to find a solution, here is the way I have solve the problem. Now the sidebar is just working fine. This behavior is observed if the XML registration is missing in the system. To fix the problem, use the following steps:
* Close Windows Sidebar. To do so, right-click on the Sidebar icon in the Notification area and click Exit
* Open an elevated Command Prompt window. To do so, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
* In the Command Prompt window, type the following and press ENTER:
when i try to click an email link a lil box opens up that says could not
perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly

1- I put my charter.net email into Vista mail works great but now I can only get my email by going through vista mail. If I go to charter.net It says NO MESSAGES, but there are because I can get them when I go into vista mail.
Also I got an email from a trusted sender and Vista mail pt it throug to spam and said it could have been phishing, I am 100% it was not. I right clicked on the email and put it in trusted sender. Why didVista mail do that Finally I hate how when I go into vista ,mail even if I right click on an email It will open it (so say I right click on a spam email to delete it, vista mail will open it?
In the folder "indexed file locations" there are a lot of old emails I thought were deleted from my system. When I try to delete one or more of them, there is no option for delete in the right click menu. How can I get rid of the old emails as none of them have any importance to me?

View 8 Replies View RelatedAs of today I can no longer open attachments. I have already unchecked the box that won't allow certain attachments and that didn't work. If I right click on the mail and double click on the attachment I get the message, "command failed to execute". I used to be able to single left click on an attachment to open but that does nothing now, just sits there without even an error message. The only thing I've done differently is take an update that they said I needed in order to make my screen saver work. I did that days ago though, and that shouldn't have affected my mail.

The account is set all right. I verified it since first it worked OK.
I should know better, but I make the same mistake again and again when I am absorbed in my work. I right-click on the document I want to Send to/Mail Mail Recipient, and find that what I had selected was NOT the document, just a LINK to the document.
Is there any way of activating a user option to chose, at that moment, between the link and the underlying document? Vista has plenty of exasperating UAC serial popup messages (eg five clicks just to do a Disk Cleanup), but a warning/option in this case would be welcome. Perhaps this feature is available and I just need to enable it?
