I have Vista program, so I assume it could be that. That is been where all my problems have started.

I am using Vista Home Premium 32bit and all of a sudden, in windows mail I am receiving all of my emails in duplicate. Everything was normal a couple of days ago. What have I inadvertently done?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am receiving duplicate emails on most (not all) emails. I have gone to Tools->Accounts and there are NOT duplicate accounts. The problem seems to have started when I upgraded to Trend Micro Internet Security 2009 in January.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI received an email from someone and it keeps sending me 100's of copies of the same email from the same date and time. My inbox is no longer getting my normal emails and I've tried blocking this person but it still sends the emails. When I click on send and receive is says retrieving message 1 of 16 but only one message comes in (the junk one) and then an error message appears saying:

Receiving and sending mail is sporadic. Get the following message when I use send/receive in windows mail:

Spent several hours on phone with Verizon, only to find they have no resolution and recommended I contact Microsoft. Have deleted the user account several times, rebooted the system, disabled AVG virus software. Can ping to the incoming server but not the outgoing server. In AVG it stated that port 25 was inactive, and I activated it, to no avail. Again, this problem is sporadic. When I first log on to my system (I'm using Vista home) I can usually receive and send emails, but after the initial run, it ceases to work.
I can't send emails and am still receiving email. Error message as follows: The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section.

Have had Windows Mail set up successfully for some time. It had stopped working yesterday after I had used Skype, although I am able to send emails. Am receiving the message:

I have Norton 360 installed and Windows Mail has been working ok with that. I have run scans both on Norton and Regcure, but Mail still not working.
Some of my recipients aren't receiving my emails. I've verified their addresses are correct (one is at verizon.net, another at yahoo.com- there might be others). I receive mail from them but they receive none from me.

I have tried removing and adding the account again through tools, accounts, but it now gives me the box "Windows Security" and asks me to verify both username and password for my mail server which I have just resubmitted - it wont take the details I input and continues to give me that box - if I click the X to close that window I get the following error message -Account: 'pop.virgin.net', Server: 'pop.virgin.net', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR invalid command', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC91
View 9 Replies View RelatedMy daughter used my laptop to set up a Live Mail account for herself. Now every time I switch on my computer I have to type in my User Name and Password as normal but I get a message immediately underneath saying I have X-number of unread emails. These turn out to be emails to my daughter. If she logs in then her email only shows the recent emails that she has not read. My login shows ALL of them. It is becoming frustrating having to delete all her emails. I assume she has set up a forwarding facilty in her account. How can this be switched off so I don't get her emails.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have moved and changed email services. All my efforts to change the default servers for window mail to my new email address have failed. I keep getting an authentication error message referring to my old email adress and saying it does not recognize it, which of course it will not as I no longer use that email address or server. I have deleted the old account and added the new one in windows mail but that has not helped. I still cannot send emails through widows mail.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am running Vista on a Dell XPS 420. I came home to find both drives failed in a RAID 1 mirror. Dell gave me no help recovering data, but did send two new drives. I have installed Vista on one of the new drives without RAID. I wanted to see if I could recover any files from the failed drives, but I can't seem to get Vista to recognize either of the old drives that were in the failed RAID array. The failed drive does appear during boot up and still shows as part of a failed array. How can I get Vista to recognize the failed drive so that I can then attempt to run file recovery software on it?

even if we do "reply" nothing comes through ever from her computer to mine and she is using the correct e-mail address. We used to be able to send back and forth no problem.
Is it the ISP's fault? Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. About 1 in every 5 emails does not come in through Windows Mail. I know this is happening because I've set up a forwarding account Google Mail. Spam filter is not on so that's not the problem. It seems random so I receive/don't receive email from the same addresses. It's not affected by attachments.
View 9 Replies View RelatedDesktop with Vista using Windows Mail, laptop with XP using Outlook Express, router with wireless connection. Desktop ON, laptop OFF....send/receive numerous times per day...some messages come in. Evening, desktop OFF, laptop ON, check messages, and many messages come in, some sent very early in the day, and throughout the day, but they never came in to Windows Mail.
Various senders, and none of them Junk or Spam, some with attachments, some without, but all from contacts in both Vista Address Book and WinXP address book. Some messages from a particular sender will come into Windows Mail, and others will not. Nothing in "Options" seems to address this.
