View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried doing the same as in 'Word has stopped working' and it did not work for me. I have Vista Home Premium 32 bit and I have Office 2007 (licensed). For a few months Word was working fine and one not-so-fine-day it decided to work errantly. It opens up fine but
- the scroll up and down button stopped working, (also the scroll-bar)
- does not open a word file if the file icon is clicked,
- when I click the Office-button and then 'Word-Options' the options like 'Trust Center' etc do not work. These do not even get the focus when mouse moves over it
- When I close word. It consistently pops up 'Word has stopped working' I guess this has something to do with user-interface icons, buttons etc. I have installed, re-installed Word and also all HP drivers..

What I have tried already: Delete and recreate Outlook profile Uninstall and re-install Office 2007 (cleaned all registry entries also) Used ScanPST.exe and ScanOST.exe Deleted all email accounts and re-added I thought there might be a firewall issue since Windows Mail works fine but I found out that Windows Mail uses internet settings and not ports like Outlook.This issue is driving me nuts since I used Windows Mail for about a week now and it's childsplay compared to Outlook! I know my machine has the specs needed to run WAY more resource hungry apps: Intel Quad Core Q6600 (2.40GHz) 3GB Ram Maxtor 300GB SATAII 7200RPM I even killed all other apps besides Outlook and I still get the same issue.
From my son (who works for Microsoft) I received the Microsoft?? Encarta?? Winkler Prins Encyclopedie 2007 for fathersday. But when I installed it on my Vista Home Premium computer, (I had to install the Macromedia Shochwave 11 player as well) I found out that SOME ANIMATIONS are NOT working! But for the rest the program works good. But when I installed the program on the XP computer of my other son, JUST TO TRY OR IT WOKED, EVERYTHING worked good, including ALL the animations! After 10 hours I've reinstalled many, many programs and have been able to get the to launch all of them with the exception of Outlook. I've searched for a solution and have had no luck following a solution to the problem I'm encountering.

I have successfully used Outlook 2007 for the past 6 months on my home PC. The problems I am encountering began immediately following the upgrade to Ultimate (32 bit--I thought I'd have less problems with drivers going 32 bit route than trying 64). I am hoping to salvage my contacts and calendar if at all possible (I have them backed up on an external drive but it's not current about 6 weeks old...I see an Outlook.pst in Windows.old but I cannot open it). I've had to reinstall Office Ultimate 2007 and I have run repair three times. All the Microsoft Windows Ultimate updates are installed. Not sure if this is related but the Office Ultimate Disc 2 will not install properly.
I have vista home premium 32bit and i have been recently getting error messages like the following: "the program has stopped working". Microsoft office 2007 was working for about couple of weeks when i installed it, but later on, it started not to work. I tried the repair function, reinstalling it, manually deleting the files and reinstalling it afterwards. I have also tried installing service pack 1 RTM to see if it will fix the problem. But so far, nothing works. Will the offical service pack fix this problem?

The installer default is to install the program into a Program File that is named. This works flawlessly on xp but on any computer that has Vista installed, the file opens in Read Only, which defeats our entire application. The read only format can not be changed in any of the obvious ways (under Properties etc). This is a huge problem for us. Is there any way around it?

I can print from the Word and Powerpoint applications in the Office 2007 package, but not from Excel. It looks like it prints (i.e. a small window opens and it says it is printing) but nothing comes out of the printer. I have 2 other PCs with the same setup (except the one PC is on XP), all print from all three Office applications, so it must be something with this particular PC (a laptop).

After it has reopened automatic I can close without problems. The closing down also often happens upon opening a new Excel page when Excel is open. See attachment. I have complained to the company who did the reinstallation but the claim that it is a Microsoft probloem which has nothing to do with the reinstallation. I have reinstalled Office Enterprise 2007 with no effect. When the problem started I received a message from HP that it was due to selecting the Printer HP Photosmart C5180 as default. I have tried to make another printer default but it has no effect. The computer is a Lenovo Think Pad T-61.

All of a sudden, I can't do rhat. When I click on it, Word or Excel opens, but it tells me it can't find the file. If I click on save attachments, it does that to my documents and then I can open it up. I "repaired" Office 2007, in case there was any glitch that happened with that, but it didn't change the situation - What might have happened, and how can I fix it so that attachments can open directly when I click on the clip on the e-mail.

When I export a file from a website to an Excel spreadsheet where I am using a Windows 2000 platform, it is saved as an Excel file. However, when I export this same file from the same website on a Vista platform, it gets saved as a CSV file. (I don't have the option of specifying the file format at the website. The website does ask if one wants to save the file to Excel.) I am using Office 2000. What is the method for converting the CSV file to an Excel format?

When I create an excel file and save it as an earlier version it creates a really huge file which is then too big to send by email and it jams my email programme. I've also tried pasting into Paint and saving THAT file(in both jpeg and bmp formats), then copying THAT into excel. Doesn't work. I HAVE to use print screen- the program I'm using has absolutely NO WAY to save/copy/export the image I'm analyzing.

As of yesterday, it no longer displays the individual tabs for worksheets in a workbook of existing files. Any new blank file it will show the standard three tabs. Its not a problem with the file which when viewed in vista 32 or xp still shows the tabs. I've searched the ms knowledgebase and the web, but this appears to be a one of a kind. The "unhide" worksheet feature is greyed out in excel.
