Every time I try to use movie maker (Vista) to publish my movie as an avi file to the computer, movie maker stops responding (locks up & greys out) and produces the check online for a solution and restart the program. the fault module is "StackHash_1703"
Everytime i try to publish a movie that i have created, movie maker stops working. Please forgive me as im not particularly tech savvy. Here is the problem report;

After I press publish my movie that has a mix of videos(all .wmv) and audio stops working and a screen shows up saying the following: Windows Movie Maker has stopped working....A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I have tried two different programs. The vid starts to capture, showing the preview, then everything stops (preview wise and capture wise). Video drivers? Bad fire wire?
When i try to pubish my movie on recommended settings, it works fine and there are no problems but when i try to publish on some of the other settings, it gives me the cannot complete publish movie error.
I cannot publish my movie with windows movie maker, although I cannot detect any problem. All the clips used in the movie are .avi, it is 41 clips in total and the movie length is 2 min 33 sec. When I try to publish the publishing process starts but then cancels and gives me this message: "Windows Movie Maker cannot publish the movie to the specified location. Verify, that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that the publishing location is still available, that there is enough free disk space available, and then try again." Checked all that and that is not the problem! could not find any solutions in the other threads for WMM.
I am using Vista Home Premium. I have created a movie with Movie Maker, and when i try to publish the movie with the default settings, its giving an error message: "Movie Maker can not publish the movie. The source files may not be available, or the disk space is not enouth...". I have my source files in the same path, 50GB of free disk space is there. But its not publishing the movie. But, if i select the third option the select bit rate window ie.AVI-DV in the dropdown list, the publishing is successfull. But the .AVI file created is huge in size. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with movie maker, and why it is not able to publish the movie with default settings.
I keep getting the "Program has stopped working" message with either of these programs. I have cleared all 3rd party drivers in the "Compatability" section. I have a recollection that Nero 7 can interfere with these programmes, but cannot find the article in the Discussion Group I cannot find any details regarding constant crashing of the program anywhere. I am running on Vista SP1
I have premium vista and i've used movie maker to create a film containing only video. when i try and encode it to wmv (dvd quality) it starts ok then just hangs half way though encoding. So I tried to burn it to DVD instead - DVD maker opens and I made a menu then clicked burn. It starts and makes one pass of the encoding progress bar. It then returns to zero and says buring and goes to 0.6% before stopping there. Both applications are running in task manager and respond to minimize/maximise/close etc without problems. my cpu use is low and I have free ram. I have tried different media and slowing down the burn speed, all to no result.
Over the past few days my Windows Explorer has begun to give me trouble. Stops responding several times a day. I've been through the Reliability and Performance Monitor and the Event Viewer and cannot find any specific correlation with installs or hw, sw changes. Most, but not all, of the errors seem to be related to ntdll.dll and encoders.dll. I can search for the specific error codes one by one, but since there are several, I thought there might be an easy way to check or re-install Explorer.
I have an HP Pavilion Media Center m8200n PC with Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. The problem is with publishing from WMM to DVD using Window DVD Maker. The encoding process goes fine but once it begins to finalize (98.8%) the DVD will eject and then it gives me the message that it cannot complete the burning process due to an error but it doesn?t tell me what the error is. The only thing mentioned is to check the burner and make sure it is connect properly. I should mention that I have an internal LightScribe burner (ATAPI DVD A DH16A3L SCSI cd Rom device). After spending the better part of a Sunday afternoon I tried using only a LightScribe DVD and that worked but in the past I have been able to use any brand DVD.
Recently I have noticed that what ever application I am in, often it stops responding for a few seconds and then it starts responding. I am operating Vista Home Premium 32bt. and have Norton Internet Security 2010 running. No other programs running at startup except sidebar.
I appreciate help on this matter. I have run full NIS scan, full Malwarebytes, and full tune up in system mechanics 9.
my explorer.exe stops responding every time i attempt to login to my account. My account is the only account on the computer. Right now i am in safe mode with networking and it is working fine. Any advice on how to fix without formatting? I have attempted to replace explorer.exe with a different one i copied from my aptop, but for some reason i do not have access to delete the old file.
Able to start install of Vista enterprise, but when comes to options of language, time and currency and keyboard layout, the keyboard and mouse become unresponsive. Can not even turn off numlock as the light will not change from being on. Keyboard and mouse work, tried a USB mouse and keyboard - same issue.setting up as a dual boot - XP already installed on 1st partition.
I'm working in a project and when my project is on storyline I can see the pictures that are in the movie but when it is on timeline there are no pictures. What is wrong with my computer
I created a 5min + video within movie maker, published it and have been in since. All of a sudden i now go into movie maker and open the project and it won't play/preview the movie. Any ideas? the machine doesn't even try to play, the button to play is pressed but the movie doesn't start. individual clips that are in the project window play.
I have been trying to publish a project created in Windows Movie Maker in Windows DVD Maker. However, each time i add the project in and click next, windows shuts dvd maker down. The problem and resolutions page suggests i try disabling lmpgtspl.ax, which i have done to no avail. I can add in the individual unedited video clips without issue, but not the finished project. I can publish the project on my computer and burn it onto DVD that way, but i then lose certain features, such as scenes etc.
I've been using movie maker to make sports videos for a couple years now. I had a huge collection of clips in many folders. I recently opened movie maker and all the folders and clips I've been collecting over many months have vanished. This is a nightmare and a tremedous loss of valuable data.
I am currently running Vista Home Premium with (SP1) and my movie maker keeps crashing whenever I try to import media. It's really starting to get annoying and I was wondering if anyone knows any fixes that will stop this from happening. Here's the error report from the latest crash: Product Windows Movie Maker Problem Stopped working Date 3/30/2008 9:54 PM
We all know about the "Windows .... has stopped working" then it says something about Data Execution and there is a problem. I cannot import .avi files into movie maker nor can I save files. I can import .wmv files and a few others but I get the error whenever I try to import .avi files. For DVD Maker, everything works fine until I try to burn and encode. It'll remain on "0.0 for encoding" and then the error will come up. It's not just .avi. I can't publish any videos.
I've read everywhere that Nero can cause problems and DivX. I do not have Nero and I have the latest version of DivX which I've uninstalled before. I've also tried removing filters from movie maker's tool options. Nothing has worked.
I bought the wife a HD video camera for Xmas, it records in mp4 format. What do I need to convert this to a format that I can play with it in windows movie maker?
I have a year of small home video clips all Avi. I imported them to windows movie maker and made a story board. I can watch the movie. When I hit publish to dvd it takes me to windows dvd movie maker. I hit burn. The latest video which works in a dvd player only did the first three frames then the whole dvd was black with no sound. I did a windows update today, still the same. I have also tried to publish the movie to my computer it always crashes. I do not have an option to save as and place it elsewhere its always a movie maker file prompt. I tried using nero but my videos are all over the place where as windows movie maker there all in sequence as I imported them there.
i wanted to use movie maker and i can't find it... do i have to download it or? i am running windows vista home premium. are there other downloads i need to take care of?
i have home premium and are having a lot of trouble when it comes to movies and transfering dv. my problem now is i'm trying to convert a file from my E drive so i can watch it on a dvd player. each time i try to transfer it to movie maker or dvd maker the programs shut down and says a problem has occured.
I am having an issue with Movie Maker. I put all my pictures and text frames together just fine. Downloaded my music from my CD's into the Music folder on my PC. When I went to the import audio and imported the song, everything looked normal, the song came up as an mp3 file. When I dragged it down into the timeline there was not any music in the music space. (there is not any tick marks if that makes sense.) So when I go to play the video, the song title is there, but no song is there. If I import one of the sample songs that came on my computer when I purchased it, (they are in a wma format, they work just fine) I am totally confused, because ALL the help files tell me that mp3 files are supported, but yet it won't play. I also have NO IDEA how to convert the mp3 to something else, to make it play. I am such a beginner at this, and plan to make many videos, so need to get this figured out right away.
i can not import videos into my movie maker and some of the videos i play on windows media player do not have a picture just the sound. i have windows xp professional and can someone explain what is wrong and how to fix it?
My Movie Maker is crash during publishing. I have Vista Ultimate newly installed. What could be the problem? Here are 3 of the recent errors:

i have a relatively old (but working) movie recorder which records in mp4 format. it plays back fine on my pc (with the klite codec pack installed - otherwise it doesn't) but whenever i try to upload any video to Internet or edit it in movie maker, the picture is mis-aligned. i seem to only get the top left-hand section of the original video. it's like the recording has zoomed to the top left-hand quarter/third - which obviously ruins the recording. the original if fine (i see the whole picture) but whenever i try to do anything with the video, i get this weaird effect.
