No Signal Message On Monitor

May 15, 2010

my grandmas pc can't seem to solve. I'm getting a no signal message on the monitor when I power on the system. I've tried a different video cable, monitor, and even a new motherboard but I still get the same issue no matter what. The system is a HP Pavilion a6110n. Tried posting on their site but all they want you to do is take it in to have it serviced.

Monitor No Signal Crashing

Nov 10, 2009

While playing any game, my monitor blinks off with a No Signal message and a few seconds later my computer finishes crashing and I have to reboot. I've replaced the graphics card, ram, and motherboard, and ensured all drivers are up to date, but I'm still getting the exact same issue. It only happens when playing games I can leave it running the desktop for as long as I want.

Monitor Loses Signal On Boot Up

Mar 23, 2008

I have a Viewsonic LCD monitor. i just put a new pc together with an XFXForce 8600GT video card. The problem is when i boot the pc i see the bios screen fine. it's not until i see 'Micrsoft Corporation' and am about to see the status bar going back and forth that the screen goes blank and i then see 'No sginal'. I'm connected using a DVI-I cable. If i unplug the cable from either the card or monitor and plug it back in i then get video. I sent the monitor to Viewsonic which they said they fixed a problem. hmmm anyway i'm still seeing this proble. If i use a VGA cable with a DVI adapter i won't have this problem. While the LCD monitor was away i used an old CRT monitor with a VGA cable and had no problem.

DT Signal Not Found For One Local Station

Feb 21, 2009

I have an HP Media pc with dual ViXS PureTV-U48B0 tuner, and I have it configured in Media Center for ATSC only. All of the local on-air digital stations are received well, except the local PBS. The Media Center does not detect any signal for that PBS station no matter how I position my digital antenna. If I connect a tv directly to the same antenna feed, the tv detects a strong signal for the PBS station and receives broadcasts fine. I have the most up-to-date driver for the tuner card in the pc.

I saw a note on HP's site that Media Center may not work with some more recent DT compression formats. When I downloaded MediaPortal and installed it on the same PC, it detected the PBS station perfectly, but one of the other local DT stations that Media Center played well was not detected at all, plus Media Portal is not as user friendly.

Excellent Signal Strength But Limited / No Connectivity

Sep 5, 2009

Got a new laptop (VISTA) and already have a wireless router (netgear) in the house. We connected the laptop wirelessly with no problems yesterday and this morning. Then, out of the blue, I get a "limited connectivity" message even though the signal strength is excellent. Our wireless network is the only one that's listed "connect automatically" and we were connected to it yesterday and this morning with no problems.

USB EasyCap Video Grabber: "no Signal Found"

Jun 19, 2009

I'm having trouble getting my USB EasyCap Video Capture to work on my HP laptop running Vista Home Premium X 32 bit. The Ulead software appears to be installed ok. I wonder, if the driver on the Ulead disk any good? I read that maybe an Stk1160 driver should replace the old driver.(?) When I try to use this through the TV, I get the message "no signal found". The Ulead disk is dated 2006. Is there an update to this disk?

X64 Does Not Detect XFX GeForce 9500 GPU

Sep 15, 2009

GPU: XFX GeForce 9500

Gateway LX-6200

Computer Specs:

Windows Vista Home Premium x64

AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core

8GB Ram

Serial ATA 500GB HD

ATI Radeon HD 3200

500W PSU

(any other info needed, just request)

P.S. Not sure of the MoBo build. It was the original MoBo that came with the computer.

I originally did what I normally do when installing any graphics card; I uninstalled the on-board graphics card drivers and disabled it, then attempted to install the drivers for the new card. While running the installation, an error appeared telling me that it didn't detect any Nvidia compatible hardware in my setup. So I checked my device manager and sure enough, there was only the onboard card showing up in the list. So I tried restarting the computer to see if a reboot would cause it to appear. Nothing happened, so I ran CCleaner and Driver Sweeper to clear any registry and drivers issues that could be occuring. I rebooted, and still nothing appeared. So I went into the BIOS and tried to change some settings in there. I disabled the on-board through the options there, but that only caused the BIOS to give me issues and I couldn't even reach the splash screen, so I reset it and then tried changing the load settings from IGFX-GFXO-GPP-PCI to GFXO-GPP-IGFX-PCI, saved and then rebooted. I got past the splash screen on the new video card but the computer locked up before it would load the OS. So I know that both the card and the PCI-E slot on the MoBo are working fine. But I have run out of ideas as to what to try next to get this to work.

Not Detect The Graphics Card

Jun 6, 2009

Now i've installed Vista Home Premium 32-bit onto the system, but it will not detect the graphics card at all. Although i have got a display (Motherboard does not have on-board). I've tried using the driver disk supplied with the card, but it always tells me to go to the XFXForce website, so i do and download their drivers and install but CCC does not appear to get installed. I've tried the card in another Vista 32-bit System and it gets found and drivers install nicely and the card works fine. Is there anything wrong that i'm doing??

Vista Does Not Detect Close 500 Gb

Jun 24, 2008

I am running Vista Home Premium. I had been running 2 Western Digital 500GB drives in RAID 0 mode. The external enclosure was a Fantom enclosure. The controller was going bad, so I bought a Xtrastor 3.5 x2 HDD enclosure which supports RAID 1. Anyhow, when I hook it up via USB, it only detects an 8GB drive. Once I got it to detect it as a 75GB drive. If I hook it up as an eSATA, Vista does not see it at all......It should detect close to 500GB since the other 500GB is for the RAID I have a PB5 motherboard. I have tried a lot of things via the cables and re-booting and such, no luck.

XP Does Not Detect Hosted LAN Games

Mar 23, 2008

I've tried everything I can think of; disabling IPv6, LLTD, installing the LLTD patch on xp, turning off all firewalls, file sharing, etc.. Nothing seems to work. I'll start a listen game server on the vista computer because it's mine and it's much more powerful than the XP computer. When I try to find a server on the LAN browser, nothing come up. If I host from the XP machine, the Vista one can see and connect to the XP's server. However, this method costs frames and gameplay, so hosting a game on the Vista computer is the more viable idea. This happens in every game.

Dual Monitor: "No Signal"

Mar 22, 2009

I've recently bought a new rig and decided to go with Vista Enteprise 64-bit version on it. I currently have a 30" Dell monitor and a 19" Packard Bell Maestro 190W setup that I used on my previous XP rig. Now, when I try to use my PB Maestro 190" Screen on the Vista machine, I get no signal. I can detect the monitor through the ATI Catalyst program but it cant it to work. The monitor works and shows stuff when I reload the computer, but it goes "No signal" just when Vista Loads...

I have downloaded Powerstrip and another monitor program to try and force it to 1440x900 settings, but still no signal.. Even wrote my own drivers for the screen with a fixed resolution 640x) but no luck. I plugged in my LCD TV instead and it worked like a charm! So i quickly switched the cables between the second 19" monitor and the TV and bam! I got the second monitor up and running! But I had to reload the computer and I lost the output, tried several times again to repeat the procedure with plugging in the TV and then the monitor.. no luck...
