Delete Browsing History/internet File Box Blank.
Apr 27, 2008This has just started happening,any-one else experience it.? When i click on delete history in ie 7 or temp internet files the box that opens is totally blank.

Apr 7, 2009I want to delete my browsing history completely from a pc. I had done all the usual, tools, internet options & delete. I have also used the Vista search function and found a couple of folders containing relevant material and deleted those. I have deleted the cookies manually by unhiding the directory and sniping those out. HOWEVER, if I type the name of a site into the VISTA search - a string of references appear above - as if they are still in the browing history - but they are not as I have deleted them. Is there some other reference I need to delete somewhere? perhaps some sort of shadow directory structure? The references appear as http// etc above - but these do not lead anywhere if I click on them. They must be embedded in some some sort of script somewhere.

Delete Broswsing History Does Not Delete Favorite History
May 15, 2010I can delete my browsing history but it dosen't delete my favorite history. I don't want to delete my favorite list, just the history from when I access my favorite sites. Also how do I stop pages from auto loading. When I leave my pc on, when I get back to it I noticed other sites have automactically loaded. These ere sites my grandson went out to. I really don't have a need to go out to ninja turtle sites. I have tried everything I know to correct the above two issues but can't.

Aug 6, 2009I am having an issue I recently upgraded my 32 bit vista home basic to 64 bit Vista home premium I am having internet issues. My internet is very slow and I cant browse certain sites for example aol.com or aim.com. I have tried many different things browsing other forums, nothing has worked. I have tried going into my network card advanced config settings, I have tried downloaded 64 bit Vista firefox browser I have re booted my modem and my router. Sep 20, 2009I have a problem whit browsing internet and download speed ,When I open Firefox and open more then 2 tabs I get the message bellow ,Its pausing internet browsing for 1 minut and after a couples of minutes I get it again for 1 minut .
I have checked whit broadband administrator , and he said that the other computers in the house are not recieving that message .I my torrent programs are not working at all now , in the past they were working whit 200kbps ( its slow I now , but they were working at least ) I can barrely download whit 50 kbps , I dont know what to do

Applying SP1 Internet Browsing Was Intermittant
Apr 3, 2008I installed SP1 on my Vista Home Premium and started to have internet problems. I started getting page could not be displayed errors or it would take minutes for a page to download. I got errors in Yahoo mail that it was taking too long to download. I also have an HP network printer and could not get a print job to work. I uninstalled SP1 and everything returned to normal. I anyone else out there having this problem? Anyone from MS know what could be wrong?

Dec 22, 2008Got a problem browsing Internet from Vista Ultimate x64 machine. Symptoms:
- Can browse for about 10 secs before it stops working
- Can still ping stuff
- Laptop on same network works perfect
- ISP bill is paid
What I done so far:
- Reset router and stripped it right down to no additional services/security running
- Reset winsock
- Removed/disabled all firewall software on the system What I am trying now:
- Gonna run SpyBot
- Gonna run Winsockfix (still think that's where the issue is) What to do next?
Full Hard Disk Can't Update OS Can't Do Nothing Except Browsing The Internet
Mar 7, 2009I Hav a 40 gb hard disk full of nothin:S lol No software installed except microsoft office and adobe photoshop. My Os is taking like 35 GB:S mostly winsxs folder(18 gb) I removed the restore points a while ago. I removed the temp sp1 files. Now i hav a full hard disk can't update my os can't do nothing except browsing the internet lol I feel like I'm using knoppix. What can I do in order to get back a normal pc :S All my pc specifications are well tuned for nothin.

I know some sites are slower than others but, as of late, the internet seems to slow down to a crawl yet, when I do the speed test, I end up scoring higher or just where I am supposed to be at. I only use Avast as my A.V. & Spyware + Windows Firewall, no proxies. I am also using OpenDNS for my dns address and this has help a bit but still, I will like more from it since when I download a file, it does it fairly quick.

If I switch the View to medium or extra large file icons they appear normal and when I switch the view back to large, they again appear normal. Nov 1, 2009I had IE 7, it "broke". So I downloaded IE 8. Still did. I then used my recovery files to replace the ones I had. Thinking my program folder was broken. To anyone who says use firefox. I am, its that certain websites love IE*coughrobloxcough* and will not work in other browsers. This is what I am doing... Clicking Internet Explorer, it doesn't open up. 1 minute later it does but its blank. I can type in websites but it will not go to it. It can't close so I have to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to manually close it.
I am going to try CC to see if it fixes it. What sucks is that all my restore points are somehow "gone" and now I can't go back to the one I went to before that fixed this problem. I also try Registry Booster to see if it was a DLL error, It didn't fix anything. I also found out this isn't ONLY an internet explorer error. You know how Windows comes with a Windows help menu that pops up once in a while? Well, all the images are red X's. Tried using the registry cleaner and the normal cleaner to see if it fixed anything. It did not. I can't find the security options for internet Explorer because its not even there. Is there a way to uninstall IE8 so I can go back to IE6?

May 15, 2008I downloaded a demo called Overclocked using ReGet Deluxe. When downloaded it comes as a Zip file which also had a file accompanying it. This is the file that I cannot delete. The extension says it’s a zip file but in properties it just says File as a file type & a size of 0 bytes. It’s located in my storage drive “D” When trying to delete the message I get is: This is no longer located in D:. Verify the item’s location and try again. Cannot move, rename or send to? It just comes up with the same message as above. UAC is disabled. Tried Unlocker but doesn’t work on Vista x64. (worked superb in XP) Used Regseeker and removed any traces that came up with. (Works ok in Vista but not 100% stable?) Tried Regedit and removed all traces of Overclocked in there. here is got to be a way of removing files like this without everyone’s solution of formatting. Surly it’s not as drastic as that?

Apr 29, 2009I have a Vista Ultimate x64, which I reinstalled a few days ago. I also have a large drive(D:), where I keep some of my software, which i don't use regularly or which does not require a performance of my main RAID 0 (C:) setup.
Before reinstallation I didn't remove old software from drive D:. Didn't think I had to, afterall it's not the first reinstall that i'm doing and it would be kind of stupid. Anyways, to the point...
I have a folder "D:Program Files (x86)" with a bunch of software. I was able to delete all of it manually, but a few folders, created by adobe acrobat.
I am logged in as Administrator (actual administrator, not user with admin. perm.)
UAC is disabled
Drive is owned by this acct.
I was able to delete everything manually inside "AdobeAcrobat", but "D:Program Files (x86)AdobeAcrobat 9.0ResourceCMap" just would not delete, getting a "You need permission to perform this action" message.
Folders and Files are set as "Read Only" and when i'm trying to uncheck, i'm getting "You will need to provide Administrator permission to change these attributes" message, after clicking "Continue" i'm getting "An error occured applying attributes to the file" "...filename..." "Access is denied".
I have an Acrobat 8.0 folder from like a year and a half ago, which does the same thing......
All Files have "RA" in the attributes section of the details tab and Owner is "SYSTEM"
Cannot Delete A File
Jan 21, 2009im having a similar problem but nothings working so far
a) cant delete it - says "could not find this item. this is no longer located in _____. Verify the items location and try again.
b) downloaded the take ownership reg and i right click, take ownership, try to delete, gives me same error saying cant find file
c) i right click, properties, go to security, and it says "the requested security information is either unavailable or cant be displayed"

The file is a MS Word docx, downloaded from my college's Blackboard system.I booted into safe mode (under the admin account) and ended up with the same message.I was told this could possible be an issue with Temporary Internet files and IE - I use Firefox. I cleared out the TIF on both browsers and the file is still there.
