i need advice!!! when im online about 3-5 hours then the pinging had no request time out! after 5 hours when i browsing the internet explorer wont browse. when i try another laptop is internet is stable and working. then windows firewall i already allowed all. then if i restart Im connected again. why is that?

My computer decided to download the latest updates (some security updates) anyway after the updates i was unable to browse with internet explorer. my connection was fine because i was able to log on to msn messenger and windows live mail. so i restored to a date previous to the update installation, then i was able to browse again, well the updates decided to install themselves again today and the same thing happened again. i had to restore again. i am sick of this. what is going on with this latest security update, i cant keep restoring. Second Im in the middle of a very important exam and this update crap keeps interrupting.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have vista business x64 and I have a problem with internet access: I use a wireless router, but my computer, which has the problem, is connected to the router through cable Since last week, every time I boot my computer I cant browse the internet (too slow) but I can ping I cant even access the router page at 192.168.0.1 (local network). And my notebook (with windows xp) can browse internet normally through the wireless connection. I've already searched at internet, and I found the option to reset the winsock using: "netsh winsock reset". When I restart the computer after reseting the winsock, everything works great The problem is the next day I have to reset the winsock again... and this is really boring.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have two computers. The Windows XP Professional is wired directly to my 5 port SpeedTouch 780 10/100mb switch. The Vista Home Premium is a laptop and is wireless connected to the same SpeedTouch 780 DSL Router. Both computers can see each other on the network. I can browse all the allowed folders on the Sony Vaio Vista Machine but I cannot browse the folders on the XP machine from the Vista machine. I CAN open the folders but I cannot copy files and if there are a lot of folders, VISTA will sit there and hang while the progress bar progresses and finally the Vista machine will kick back an error message saying that Windows Explorer has quit with no explanation.
HOWEVER, IF I disconnect the Vista wireless connection, and I cable it, to the same SpeedTouch 780 switch, THEN I CAN browse my folders on the XP machine and EVERYTHING works like it is supposed to. I have turned off the firewall and disabled anti virus on both machines. What can I do to troubleshoot this problem? And DOES ANYONE have a tech support phone number for SpeedTouch 780 DSL Routers?
I cannot browse the net, but am definitely online. I have an HP desktop with Vista OS. I have wireless and I know everything is fine with the connection, because I am typing this post off an XP laptop which is using the same modem.
Yesterday the problem began when I uninstalled a DivX player that I dont use. I have read up on this and other sites and can't find a solution. Everytime I try to browse from the desktop I get the HTTP 403 error message. I have tried rebooting, "winsockfix", several command prompts, pinging, the IP address is fine, I am all out of ideas.
Can somebody please point me in the right direction, I have spoken to HP, AT&T and the store I purchased the computer and no dice, anywhere.
I just barely got a new HP Pavilion dv9500 with Vista Home Premium on it. I have Comcast cable internet with a Linksis wireless G router. I have 2 other computers in my home with Windows XP, a pc and a toshiba laptop and have always had good consistent internet through the router with both of them. Now with my new vista laptop it shows that I am connected, but I cannot browse the internet at all. It just sits there and thinks and thinks and thinks, like its bogged down or something. I tried to download the Yahoo messenger, and it just sits at 1% and doesnt move. My Outlook (Office 2007) does not work at all. No sending or recieving at all. Is Vista the problem?? Is it my Router that isnt compatible with Vista???
I have tried the repair connection, and it just says it cannot be repaired.
I have an Acer and I have been using it for months. Browsing the web, IMing, torrents and whatnot. HOWEVER, about a month ago, my internet connected BUT my broswers (Firefox and IE) would not connect to any websites I typed in nor would Windows Live work. My uTorrent works and every other laptop in the house. I am connecting wirelessly btw, but i have tried plugging it in to through the Cable. What should I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm sure other people have had this problem, and I have viewed their threads and tried everything that was listed that I could find, but to no avail. I have a HP Pavilion running Windows Vista Home Premium. I try to connect to the internet, but whenever I try to browse it cannot display the webpage I am trying to load. And here's the kicker, the darn thing says I am connected, with full bars even.
As far as I can tell, I have no out of date drivers, I checked and double checked to make sure. I have tried resetting the TCP/IP and winsock settings/files using the commands I found in a thread on this forum, but it didn't work. I tried using ipconfig described in another thread, and even though I can successfully ping sites (three different ones I might add), the release/renew commands didn't resolve it. I even tried a system restore to rollback updates, still didn't work..........
Every time I try to upload a picture to, for example, facebook, or I try to attach a picture from my pictures file to an email, I start browsing, get to my pictures, and three seconds later, Internet Explorer stops working, telling me it has encountered a problem (it never tells me what) and then restarts. I have lost entire emails this way, plus I can never browse my pictures when I am online! It might happen to other documents (like Word) as well, I have never tried.

My internet is very slow and I cant browse certain sites for example aol.com or aim.com. I have tried many different things browsing other forums, nothing has worked. I have checked whit broadband administrator , and he said that the other computers in the house are not recieving that message .I my torrent programs are not working at all now , in the past they were working whit 200kbps ( its slow I now , but they were working at least ) I can barrely download whit 50 kbps , I dont know what to do

I installed SP1 on my Vista Home Premium and started to have internet problems. I started getting page could not be displayed errors or it would take minutes for a page to download. I got errors in Yahoo mail that it was taking too long to download. I also have an HP network printer and could not get a print job to work. I uninstalled SP1 and everything returned to normal. I anyone else out there having this problem? Anyone from MS know what could be wrong?

On two occasions I went back and was browsing through the internet with my mouse and twice the blue screen appeared for no reason. I had to turn off the computer as the blue screen remained. View 7 Replies View RelatedGot a problem browsing Internet from Vista Ultimate x64 machine. Symptoms:
- Can browse for about 10 secs before it stops working
- Can still ping stuff
- Laptop on same network works perfect
- ISP bill is paid
What I done so far:
- Reset router and stripped it right down to no additional services/security running
- Reset winsock
- Removed/disabled all firewall software on the system What I am trying now:
- Gonna run SpyBot
- Gonna run Winsockfix (still think that's where the issue is) What to do next?
I Hav a 40 gb hard disk full of nothin:S lol No software installed except microsoft office and adobe photoshop. My Os is taking like 35 GB:S mostly winsxs folder(18 gb) I removed the restore points a while ago. I removed the temp sp1 files. Now i hav a full hard disk can't update my os can't do nothing except browsing the internet lol I feel like I'm using knoppix. What can I do in order to get back a normal pc :S All my pc specifications are well tuned for nothin.

I know some sites are slower than others but, as of late, the internet seems to slow down to a crawl yet, when I do the speed test, I end up scoring higher or just where I am supposed to be at. I only use Avast as my A.V. & Spyware + Windows Firewall, no proxies. I am also using OpenDNS for my dns address and this has help a bit but still, I will like more from it since when I download a file, it does it fairly quick.

After fighting to get rid of a Trojan horse virus, I am missing the internet browser. E-mail works OK. Clicking 'Internet' icon gets me the message 'Internet Explorer has stopped working:". I tried 'restore' but it is not working either. I get the message 'an unspecified error occurred during system restore'. I scanned with AVG and the files it scanned are clean. I have a 'restore' DVD made by the computer vendor but when I stick it in the CD drive nothing happens. The computer is a 1 year old ACER with VISTA home premium preinstalled. How do I proceed from here? I have no idea what to do.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI wasn't quite sure if IE8 was the culprit, but it became apparent once I removed it. Internet Explorer 8 interferes with the functionality in Windows Explorer for Vista. Say for example: With IE8 installed, open up "Computer". Close it, then open it again. It should be instantaneous. But its not. A window will take over to 10 seconds to show its initial contents. Once its open though, its very fast because the instance is already running. But once it closes it will take another 10 seconds to open again. Internet Explorer 8 itself opens up very slowly even after the first opening. Can any Vista users verify this?
1. Install IE8
2. Go: Start > click Computer
3. Close that Window.
4. Repeat step 2.
Is it an instantaneous opening or does the window take more than 5 seconds to populate? Repeat those steps with opening Internet Explorer. Is it the same? If so, welcome to the club. Does Microsoft have any way to report this bug to developers?
A freind of mine is having a few problems with her laptop..
She has a link in the start menu that says (internet explorer 64 bit)
This is what she clicks to go on the internet, Now when she visits or clicks on links, she will sometimes get a message that she needs to install flash player.
She already has the latest flash player installed, but apparently this does not work on this "internet explorer 64 bit"
I diden't even know there was a 64 bit internet explorer.
And it goes on to say something like flash player is for 32 bit browsers, for flash player to work on 64 bit browsers search online for help, or it directs you to microsoft help and support.
I don't really like to go messing around on someone elses laptop
so i thought i would just ask to see if there is one thing i could follow to fix this problem..
Internet explorer (7) won't run. I found that the IEXPLORER.exe is not in the directory. I have tried to install IE8 but it fails on configuring every time. Same happens when I try to install the cummulative IE7 updates (she's not good at installing updates). Everytime I try any kind of install or update concerned with IE it fails at the configuration phase. Other problems are that she can no longer use windows messenger. This connects but terminates in failure almost instantly.
I've ran a Norton Security scan which has found 144 tracking cookies but nothing more. The fix now button produces fail to lauch link which may well have something to do with the IE problem. Google Chrome is installed and works OK. I don't know what the last good restart point is. I've tried going into the repair feature on windows live essentials through the programs and features in the control panel but I just get a fatal error 0x8007007. Can't even look at internet options in control panel. That won't open either.
Interested to know how many people use IE7?
Looks like readability is very good in IE7 and my favorite font arial appears crisp and clear?
Just curious to hear a feedback on this?
Ive d/led the beta for IE8, dont know whether to insatll or not. What do ppl think of the new browser? What bugs have been encountered?
