May 10, 2010If I have multiple email aliases for my POP email account how can I change which one I use for the response. Or does it default to only one in my preferences under tools?

Adding Multiple Sent Emails To Address Book
Mar 16, 2009I have over 1000 emails in my sent box. I want to add all of these sent addresses to my address book (Contacts). If I highlight more than one it greys out the add to contacts. Do I need to do these individually or is there a way to add them in one stroke?

May 15, 2008Whenever i create a new email by click "To" to open up my address book for selecting any email address, or when i use "reply all" and want to add in some more email address from the address book, the computer start to run and till it stuck, so the only choice for me is to end this task and type email address instead of selecting email address from address book.
i thought that this is because i got too many email address, thus i deleted most of it and now only got 700 email address inside my address book, i just can not understand that when outlook express can take more than 3000 email address book, but windows mail can not take about 700 email address book. And somemore, this email address book is just useless for me, because whenever i want to use the address book, the windows mail is going to hang... and the only choice is to go to task manager, end this task and restart my windows mail.

Apr 17, 2008Up to a few weeks ago, I was able to change my IP address with these commands:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
But all of a sudden, I cant. I talked to my ISP and they say that nothing change on their side and I still have a dynamic IP. I believe that maybe one of the updates is responsible for this, I update to SP1 and almost every update exist for vista. So, my question is, do you know maybe on an update that can cause this?

Is there a way to change the IP address?
when I log into gmail it shows the last 5days of logging in--all the same IP address.
New Email Address Recognized As Default Email
Apr 8, 2010Trouble getting new email address (hotmail.com) recognized as default email. Tried all methods posted on forums: tools option and control panel. Control panel default settings will not allow option to disable Windows Mail. (grayed out). Register Hotmail software says only Vista but I am using Vista. Also cannot open old email program (Windows Mail) : getting error message MSOE.DLL 0x8007002: Checked and followed all advice on forums. Have also stopped virus software from scanning emails.

May 17, 2008Need to change my IP Address. Details; i'm with Virgin media broadband i'm using a cable modem. and i've read how to change it; Via the Network > Manage network connections > Porperties. Doesnt work it tells you. "Obatain and IP address automatically." But mine is already set to that. and with the "Use this IP address." option i don't know what to put in, for the simple fact i wouldnt want to put in an invalid IP.

Mar 23, 2008I have a Brother HL-5280DW. My mac will print to it over the wired network. My XP machine will print to it over the wired network. Vista, however, will only print to it until somehow the IP address is changed. This is confusing, since to the best of my knowledge, the IP address has always changed and it never mattered on the mac or under XP. I have no idea how to fix this, but I do know that my frustration with Vista is reaching the point that I need to either get this stuff working or junk the OS.

Mar 27, 2010I have IE8, Windows Vista and Windows Mail, which shows as my default mail and only email address.
I would like to have my Hotmail address as my default mail, but Windows Mail will not allow me to add Hotmail. Wizard error says it does not support HTTP and I cannot see anywhere under Hotmail options/more options where it allows me to change any type of connections to POP3.
I read it can be done in G-Mail, but unfortunately I have Hotmail.
Is downloading "Windows Live" and uninstalling my "Windows Mail" a solution?
I have all my mail forwarded to Hotmail, so I wouldn't lose saved messages.
Multiple Email Accounts

All the messages from all the accounts are going into one main local Inbox in Windows Mail. I want to keep the messages and individual folders for each email account separate. How do I do that?

Apr 6, 2008I set up my Windows Mail to receive email from multiple accounts. I know, and in fact, I like that all email goes into one inbox. That suits me just fine. It works perfectly for me. I have a column set up so that I know which email account the email came from. However, now that I've added Kaspersky Internet Security to my computer, the emails come in properly but the "account" column empties itself of the information and Windows Mail no longer recognizes where the email came from.
For example, if I replied to an email received in one of my Yahoo accounts, the reply would come from the proper yahoo account. What happens now is that no matter which email account received the email, replies will always generate from the default account unless I manually change it.

Mar 23, 2008i have imported my contacts into windows mail ok. windows mail will not autofill email address's. on outlook express, yahoo, aol, when you start typing the email address you get a drop down menu with a selection of address's. i have ticked the automatically fill email address's in the options. all my contacts are in windows mail, i can see them if i open contacts. someone please help. more info:- it appears that if I have sent an email, by typing in the full address, it remembers that address and the autofill works ok for the contacts that i have "manually" sent an email. i have over 200 contacts.
