Repeated Bluescreen Crashes
Aug 31, 2009My Vista machine is suffering from repeated bluescreen crashes, caused by a variety programs, but the usual running program is ntoskrnl.exe, although I think it 's another driver which I haven't been able to identify causing the problem. I've checked memory in memtest86 and all is ok. The PC can go a couple of months without crashing and then I can get several crashes in a day.

IE 7 Crashes ALL The Time: 'windows Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working.'
May 4, 2008and I don't get it. 'windows internet explorer has stopped working.' and then sometimes when I start it---the links are all missing. All I have is the basic IE7 with the Yahoo toolbar, latest version. The next time it happens, I will take a SS. I may have to go to FF which is not my preference. How do you get FF be the default browser for yahoo mail, for example?

After doing that I went onto the internet and connected with time.nist.gov and checked the time. After that I was no longer able to go into the internet time tab. It tells me that time.nist.gov is the time connection and I can't change it. It tells me I need to have permission to do this as administrator. I am the administrator! What goes here?

Mar 23, 2008I've got an Sony VGN-BX197XP laptop that I've upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate. Since then I've encountered some strange display-related issues:
1) I could only boot into Aero about 50% of the time. The rest of the time I forced onto the Standard theme with no Aero option. Since installing Vista SP1 I can't get Aero at all.
2) When not running in Aero mode I can't get the Windows Media Player to play video files, nor get a Perfomance Index.
3) If I plug in an external monitor I can't get a picture on the laptop monitor but I *do* get a picture on the external monitor and it runs Aero 100% of the time. It will also play video files and give me a performance index.
X64 Freeze From Time To Time For 2-3 Seconds.
Aug 6, 2008Recently I have bought Vista Home Premium x64 and to be honest I am having quite annoying issue with this OS . I had installed Vista on RAID0 partition. Additionally I have three other sata drives for my data . I noticed that from time to time when I am working on vista , system freeze for 2-3 sec then everything is fine and I can continue work. Particulary when for example I am opening some application or even windows explorer , my computer etc. (when it hangs I can't move my mouse). Moreover when it freeze I "hear" something inside my computer case as if my computer weak up from hibernation.

Aug 20, 2009Im in vista 64 bit. I was trying to install a licence for Cubase and was getting a time, calendar error. I look and everything is on time to the second hand on my wall. But for the hell of it, I tryed syncing it to all the availible servers but got: "An error occured while Windows was synchronizing with whatever.server" However I can ping the servers in comand prompt. And also, like the topic says, It still keeps perfect time. It set it's own time. So Im clueless. A bios thing perhaps?

Mar 23, 2008i installed new Intel E6750 processor and now i'm getting bluescreen.. sometimes at startup and sometimes after using computer for few minutes and it's never the same reason.. memorycheck says that i have some kinda hardware problem but my motherboard should support new processor. i have Vista 32-bit, Asus Commando motherboard, 4 x Kingston KHX6400D2LLK2/2GN ddr2 (total 4 GB), XFX GeForce 7800 GTX. with my previous processor Pentium D 3.00 GHz everything is fine, Vista runs bit slow sometimes but that's normal.

I believe the problem lies in the USB Flash Drive I've been using, though I am not completely sure. Every time I plug in the flash drive, a screen comes up saying that it is damaged, and must be scanned/fixed. Unfortunately, I cannot scan/fix it because it is "in use" when it's plugged in (or so it says). I used it many times with the "fix it" window popping up without problems, so I didn't see any issues coming up in the near future. I was only using Chrome for website browsing, when I decided to plug in my flash drive to transfer some files. RIGHT after I plugged it in, the Blue Screen showed up. And the only thing I recently installed was "PerformanceTest v7.0" which benchmarks my computer's performance. I just uninstalled it though. Lastly, I was told to .rar a minidump file, but I cannot find anything in the minidump folder.
Bluescreen After DISKCRC.SYS...
Sep 15, 2009A friend has a Lenovo laptop running Vista Home Premium. Right now, when booting to Vista the PC bluescreens and starts the boot process over again. This happens in normal as well as safemode. When in safemode the last file loaded is DISKCRC.SYS (probably just the last SYS file that would normally load). After a few seconds the bluescreen occurs and the laptop restarts. I don't have the details from the bluescreen yet. There have been no changes to the laptop.
I haven't had time to do a deep inspection, but BIOS settings are all correct and trying to boot to the last known good configuration doesn't change anything. I don't see an option to not restart on bluescreen from safe/normal mode boot screen. Of course Lenovo won't send out a Windows disc and one was never created when the laptop was purchased, so I currently don't have a disc that I can reload the laptop with.

Apr 14, 2010any fullscreen 3d app instantly crashes my system, giving the bluescreen. Im currently running the 196.21 drivers from nvidia because with the latest drivers the crashes occured even more often(at vista startup!). I tried a clean new driverinstall, didnt work. I am uncertain of the reason and i don't know how i open the .mdmp files that are left in the folder of the program that crash my comptuer.
