BF 2142 Grief Can Not Running

I've been experiencing some problems running bf2142 on my new HP Dv6z-1100. I've poked around, but could not find the answer to my questions. If this has been solved, please provide a link. Installing bf2142 and the system patch goes smoothly, its when I want to play that vista (or whatever the problem is) rears its ugly head. I can load the game, login to my account, and proceed to the main menu. However, my game automatically quits a couple seconds after I access any of the secondary menus. Windows tells me that it had to automatically quit, and that it will notify me when a solution is available. Predictably, it has not notified me yet (nor do I suspect such a feature actually works).

I've updated my audio and graphic drivers, so I don't think that is the problem. I've run as an administrator (with the updated drivers) and still nothing. My computer should be able to handle this game, and I don't understand why it won't. I've got the turion graphics card in it.
