I have been using Vista Home Premium for about 6 months now, no problems. My PC overheated and I fried my motherboard, processor and ram. I have now upgraded to a quad core system and reinstalled Vista. Now it's asking me to activate and when I try I get the error message that my product key is already in use. I have now got 27 days left to activate and don't know how to.

After it was done installing my laptop shut off (as I was told it would do). When I turned it back on, I was prompted to enter a Product Activation Key. I entered the Windows Product Key as shown on the sticker on the base of the laptop. The message I received was "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" For the record, YES, I am entering the code in properly.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI was redirected to a window that said "The Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed is invalid for activation" -- quite a surprise, considering that Vista had worked near-perfectly for the 4 months that I've had my laptop, and that I've never had to key in a product key before! When I chose the option to manually type the product key, I received error message 0xCD004F050 with several warnings that I might be the victim of counterfeit software (again, quite a surprise!). I called the vendor's (Lenovo) customer support line, but the representative told me that I needed to get in touch with Microsoft. I called MS's customer support, but didn't want to pay a representative, especially if the only solution is to purchase another version of Vista.......

Enter different product key 3. These are my only options, i have no access to deskstop, or start key etc. I have reentered my product key numerous times and also reentered a new product key given to me by microsoft customer support on the telephone but neither was accepted and i received the following error message with both product keys: Code 0xc004f050 . The people on the microsoft customer support number could not help me any more and refered me to Medion, who referred me back to microsoft! I have not performed any updates to Vista or uninstalled any drivers etc.

My choices are:
*Buy a new product key online
*Type a different product key

Dell has not been very helpful to me in the past so I hesitate to call them.(My Dell came pre-installed with Vista. I installed SP1 a couple weeks ago without incident.) I made NO changes to my computer between last night and this morning.
I've been running Windows Vista Ultimate that I activated long before and was running perfectly! But today, I downloaded the vista SP1 and I see on the system property that I need to activate windows within 15 days! I tried to activate it and I have a message showing: " a probem occured when windows tried to activate. Error code 0xC004E003."
View 9 Replies View Relatedi recently updated with a core2 quad processor and a new gigabyte mobo, and now my vista is no longer activated and i found my CD key using some winproductkey finder program, and got it, its been activated for about a year now, and now its asking to activate it. I tried just typing in the CD key again and i get error 0xC004E003. i just want to reactivate it. It also had no option to call to activate it over the phone... :cry:

Im determined to kill it, but as of now it's screwed with my windows activation. I rebooted and got Error 0xC004D301 - The security processor reported that the trusted data store was tampered. Assuming I get this cleaned...how much of a PITA is it going to be to get my vista back to validated or at this point am I totally screwed and it won't be able to be reactivated?

Everytime I open IE an error messeage gets displayed. I clicked the "Diagnose Connection Problems" button and the a box appeared saying "Windows confirmed that www.yahoo.com is currenly online, but is not responding to connection attemps at this time. This usually means that a irewall is runng somewhere between the wo computers and is blocking World Wide web servie (HTTP). Windows has confirmed that indows Firewall on this computer is correctly configured to allow this conection. However, a remote firewall mightbe blocking your connection." If you have access to this firewall then configure the firewall to allow connection through TCP port80. If you don't have acess contact your network aministrator or internet service provider. What should I do?

View 4 Replies View Relatedit all started after i downloaded a file and started to install it. first thing that happened was i got an error message saying g.exe couldn't be opened. so i closed it and thought it was funky for it to happen at the time. i also didn;t think it was a file of importance and we all know how windows is. so i figured a restart n i would be ok. i restarted and i got a rundll error C:/windows/system32/ " the specified module could not be found" ( opnnnoMd.dll ) i did find the file after some searching in the syswow64 folder. and it had been modified around the same time i had the error of g.exe...so i did some searching bout g.exe and found it could be a virus.... i have norton ran an update and scan...found nothing

I have Windows Vista Home Premium on my laptop, and I just recently purchased an upgrade to Ultimate. However, when I'm trying to Install it, as soon as I enter the product key during the instalation process, I keep getting these error messages sayin: "Install Windows: setup.exe - Bad Image C:$WINDOWS.~BTSourcespidgenx.dll is either not designed to run on windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support."
And then once I click OK, it says under the product key "Windows installation has encountered an error and needs to be restarted." I tried restarting the upgrade, and then the computer and the problem still exists. Do anybody have any suggestions to fix this? And what do they mean by "Try installing the program again using the original installation media"?

I keep getting the low disc space on C: error message, and when I click on My Computer, it says I only have 189 MB of free space on the C: drive. However, when I click on the C drive, highlight all the folders, and click Properties, it says I am using 26 GB of space next to "size on disk". I tried to solve this problem about a week ago by moving 30 gigs of music to an external hard drive, but the C drive has filled up again even though I have not added anything to the C drive. I've also tried using disk cleanup and defrag, but that hasn't worked. This seems like a pretty serious problem. What's the deal?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSomehow, there is a system (presumeably software) conflict of some type that will no longer let several of my software applications (itunes, quickbook, quicken, etc) connect to the internet. Specifically, itunes can connect to the internet, but when I try to connect to the store, I get an error message (-9812). Same with Quicken when we try to connect securely to banks. This is a problem specifically b/c I can no longer sync my iphone.
I have uninstalled my Norton internet security, turned off the firewall, made sure all the software has exceptions w/in the firewall with it on, made sure the date/time clock is correct, changed internet explorer security, disabled as many programs (in attempt to get arround any conflicts) and restarted the computer in safe mode all without success. I also cleared out my host file, but that didn't work either. My older laptop with windows xp and my two iphones are having no such connection issues. So therefor, I'm fairly certain it's a windows or software issue of some type.
I've searched everything, tried as much as I know to do. My next best solution was to maybe do a system restore to a prior timepoint, but using the system restore feature within windows, it only gives me a weeks worth of dates to choose from... I need to go back like 1-2 months now. Does anyone have a solution or another method to go back in time without completely starting from scratch? (I have a dell that will let me restore back to factory settings). One other option I considered was upgrading to windows 7 as it might solve my problem and allow me to keep all my settings. Opinions on this option?
