2gig Ram Still Slow Load Up
Jul 29, 2009Just wanted to know if RamBooster is any god for Vista ? My fiance has a laptop that is a 32bit vista with 2gig Ram, but still kinda slow to load up.

Why Does Vista Load So Slow ?
Apr 16, 2008why does vista load so slow for me? here is my pc. my pc is less then 2wks old i did all the installing myself and what not. and on start up all that is loading for me is the gargets, and steam and my logitech stuff (for my g15 keyboard and g5 mouse) this computer has no shortage of power and what not so why does it take on average 5plus minutes to load??? all of my programs load blistering fast expect loading og vista~ everything all the parts are purchased from ncix and is brand new! and all most top of the line pc and why must i wait longer for vista then i ever did for xp?

May 7, 2010i have 2 fast efficient computers....one using vista ultimate 64 bit, one using xp home premium..... we have fast broadband....i have a problem on both computers that my Internet channel has blank thumbnails....then they load up very slowly.....up to 2-5 minutes.....sometimes no picture....just a red cross & title on thumbnail....i cannot play video until all thumbnails are loaded. playing video is fine ...no problems viewing in hi def... no problems if i play from another link....but my channel loads chronically slow this also happens on some other websites but Internet is chronic on both computers.....using ie8 or firefox...yet my slow dog of a computer at work running xp works fine on my Internet channel. i tried compatability mode but makes no difference..

May 3, 2009I have Vista 32 bit,intel core2 duo t7250 processor,3gb ram,nvidia 8600m dell xps 1530 laptop. My friend also has ame lappy. His system works perfectly fine, but my system is too slow.There is lag in simple operations also like there in a lag of 1-3 seconds in opening folders,it always takes to load/show all data in the folders. This problem is still persists even after i have disabled all unneccesary stuffs.

I have installed and re-installed the OS multiple times to no effect. I've downloaded all of the windows updates. Desktop Will Not Load
Oct 10, 2009Problems started back in the middle of Sept (1 1/2 months ago). I logged several hrs, over 3 days, over the phone w/ Microsoft Tech support. Unfortunately, were unable to pin point the problem. They said it was probably a conbination of spyware and viruses. Here are some of the issues acurring:
I have 2 accts. Mine, (which has administrator privlages), and a Guest acct. Every time I log in to my administrator account, my desktop does NOT load. A TEMP user account is created. With all new desktop settings, etc. I receive an error message saying that my user profile was/did not load correctly. A Temporary user account has been created. Any changes tothis acct will not be saved. Many of my programs are screwed up. ie; Adobe Reader, Microsoft Word. My Microsoft Word created each time, as if for the first time. But will not load 100%. The only way I am able to access my files, (Docs, music, photos, etc.), is by going to start, go into Computer, click C:/ drive, click on users, click on emilee. And there are all my folders file files.
Two Programs That UAC Don't Allow To Load

The UAC control stops 2 programs and I'm not able to let these programs loadwith UAC control active. Tried everything also in Windows defender but no success.I must always confirm and let run these programs clicking on the UAC block tray icon that appear during the load of these 2 programs.
CPU Spinning Up To 100% Load, Why
May 26, 2009it seems as though my CPU enjoys spinning up to 100% load. I'm not entirely sure why. It might be because I have an old CPU and motherboard (Athlon 64 3700+, which is, of course, single core and an Asus A8N-32 SLI Deluxe) but it never happened with XP Pro (unless I was doing something super intensive).
So, here's the deal: it sounds like something is spinning up but it's not my hard drives. Could it be the chip fan? It happens when I'm playing video games and, more recently, when I've been loading something even moderately graphics intense on the internets (I use Firefox 3.0.10, which has been crashing a bit lately, but that's not the issue here, hehe). Could it be the graphics card? Though I don't see why that would put a huge load on my CPU. (The card is an nVidia 8800 GT.)
There doesn't seem to be anyone one process that is causing this; the processes with the massive load change while whatever it is is spinning and the CPU is at 100% load.
CPU Load About 50%, Pc Idle
Mar 23, 2008I installed Vista recently and now, when I've got all updates and I've installed few programs into Windows like Visual Studio, Mobile Device Center, some SDKs etc, every time the system is idle the CPU load is 50%, not exactly, but about 50%.
So I've tried to determine which process makes this CPU load. After Alt Ctrl Delete and Task Manager I haven't got to know anything. I've installed Process Explorer from Sysinternals. He told me process "System" makes this high load. I've tried to "kill" process "System". Yes, load felt down. But this isn't solution because after reboot it's the same.
Cannot Load Setver.exe
Sep 12, 2009I switched to Vista from XP but I have now a problem. I am using an old DOS program which needs some settings in SETVER.EXE I am asked to load this program in CONFIG.SYS (or CONFIG.NT) and so I added there the line device="c:xxxsetver.exe" But when I call setver.exe it says that it is not loaded. I have been able to load this program in Windows 2000 and XP without problem

Aug 25, 2009I have a new machine with Vista Home Premium. I find when browsing in IE8 it works fine for a while then it just can't seem to load any pages even my home page. No message, just a blank screen and the green bar across the bottom sitting there about half way across and doesn't go any further as if it can't load the page. I have cleaners I have tried but the only thing that works is to restart my machine.

My laptop runs vista ult 64 also so I checked the syswow64 folder for the file but it wasn't in there. why would this file be in desktop install of vista but not my laptop. I've ran multiple spyware and virus scans with nothing turning up.

Mar 23, 2008On start up my laptop dispaly the desktop error message: Could not load or run '""' specified in the registry. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the registry. This makes no sense to me at all.

The application can not load under Vista Home Premium x64 the API .dll residing in system 32. needless to say that everything worked fine with Windows XP. I have no clue where the problem is. Is there any security Vista that I'm not aware of?

I am graciously inquiring for experts' opinions on whether or not to load the 64 bit verson since my basic use will only be home office, some photo editing and some gaming. Howeve Ive found that the load process seems to be locking up. The first time I tried to load it, it just sat at 0% in Expanding files, the second time at 18% and were talking 30 mins at a time. For some reason when I try to OC to over 10%, Vista won't load. If anyone knows a better OC program please tell me or help me with this program. The version of AI Suite is 1.03.16. Just so you know, when I overclock to 10%, my CPU temperature stays at or under 40 degrees Celsius. When every CPU core is a 100%, the temperature is 56 degrees Celsius.

Oct 10, 2008i have Corsair XMS2 DDR2 1GBx2 memory sticks in my computer, i installed vista with this Ram and then after installation decided to place another 2GB's of RAM. My issue currently is that Windows Vista will not load with 4GB's of Ram or even 3GB's. When i try to re-install Windows Vista with the new RAM in my pc restarts before installation begins, when i plug the ram in and try to run Vista normally, it either restarts at the loading screen or just crashes completely......
I have heard that there is a windows update which may resolve this issue however you need 3GB's of RAM installed, which my computer wont allow. Any Bios related or any solution in general, could you please go into great detail and if possible step by step guides of how to fix this problem, i have a basic bios knowledge however take my knowledge as 0. (I have also Updated Vista to SP1 and have completed all Vital Updates)
Not Able To Load Site
Aug 30, 2008the first problem that I have had since using Vista. I use Snapfish to upload pictures from my digital camera. I have had no trouble getting into that site until yesterday. Now I cannot load www.snapfish.com, but I can load all other web sites that I normally use. I've re-booted the computer and the modem, and run the Vista diagnostics, but cannot find the reason for being able to load any other web site but not www.snapfish.com. I am able to load it using a Wi-Fi laptop, but not using my desktop.

Sep 25, 2008so here's the situation...i'll just spit it all out and hopefully you can make of it what you will: System freezes up...without warning...without stutter. It's as if im looking at a screenshot of my screen on paper (no faded out windows from unresponsiveness and no moving mouse)...and it happens instantly and swiftly. Completely random too, no difference if I have a load on it or not. Also happens when the screensaver is up. When I boot the computer...the mobo splash screen won't go away unless I have my HP C4180 disconnected...(what the heck?). the printer does have a card reader...but there's no card in it. With the splash disabled...it seems to be halting at the USB Mass Storage detection. is there any way to fix this? Both issues appeared 3 weeks after I build the machine...so maybe drivers or something? I've run the latest version of memtest for over an hour...and it hadn't brought up any errors...

Jul 21, 2009My situation i have a set duel channel 1 gig a-dat memory ddr 400 2gig total memory works for 3 years, still works great. I bought the same memory, set duel channel 1 gig a-dat memory ddr 400 and installed them on my vista 64 bit system the bios reads 4gig np but windows will not load (windows error recovery) no specific error listed. I then took out my original memory and left the new in the newly used duel chanel slots on my motherboard. Both the new memory and the previuosly unused ram slots work fine. I have repeatly installed all 4 gig same problem (windows error recovery) and always works fine with either set of in either duel chanels on my motherboard. I have windows vista 64 bit.

So i restarted my laptop. and it loads teh HP screen, then blank screen. I tried to wait for 10-15 mins. still blank screen.

Laptop Does Not Load Websites
Jun 8, 2008I currently have an Acer Aspire 5100-5728 laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium installed on it. After very many months of usage with no problems pertaining to the internet, I am suddenly met with an inability to load internet websites in an acceptable time. Other programs such as Pidgin (Instant Messaging client) and uTorrent (BitTorrent client) that use the internet work flawlessly; my download/upload and data transfer speeds are not affected at all, and according to the Network and Sharing Center, I am connected.Anything in the browser bar, including my router setup, or the IP addresses of websites, take anywhere from three to ten minutes to load; sometimes they just fail to load entirely.this includes low-content pages such as Google, Bash.org, and various other websites. I've tried both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer, and the problem is consistent. However, the problem is only specific to my machine; I am currently typing this up on my parents'Acer Aspire, connected to the same network, and websites load with no problem.
I've tried the following:
-Rebooting the machine
-Resetting the modem
-Unplugging the router
-Changing router settings
-Resetting the network settings
-Using wireless/wired
-Flushing the DNS
-Clearing the browser cache
I've also checked the Acer website, and it doesn't seem that there are any driver updates or anything of the sort.I can speculate that the problem is not with my ISP or any of the networking hardware. The various other computers in my house (running Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Ubuntu) all have full connectivity; it is only one Vista
laptop that has this problem.
Unable To Load DLL - Zlib X86.dll
Mar 27, 2010I loaded a program called GO Contact Sync. It is freeware and it is supposed to sync Outlook contacts with gmail contacts. It fails to sync and I get an error message; Error: Unable to load DLL 'zlib x86.dll' The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)
I did leave a message for the developers, but I thought I would try this forum also. The zlib x86.dll seems to be related to file compression. I have verified that no zlib DLL is anywhere on my computer. I can find zlib.dll files on the web, but I can't find any reference as to what to do with them.
