Sound Not Working With AMD Quad Core & AMD Triple Core
Mar 3, 2009Quad Core: When I install XP I try to hear music but sometimes the music freeze for about 0,5s and after that it continue. with video its the same. I don't know why, so I try it with Triple Core... No change same like before but when i try it with Dual-Core it was OK. I install all drivers. I try old drivers, new drivers, beta drivers, new bios etc... bud i think it is in CPU, because on Dual-Core it was fine... Please tell me solution. I don't have any idea to correct this problem. TY.

Aug 25, 2008My quad-core processor is only running 1 core. I have scrawled the web for fixed and such, but I'm having no luck . Here are some images from my device manager, and CPU-Z for proof, and the problem.As you can see, my device manager doesn't even show any processors, and only shows my computer as a Standard PC. And on the CPU-Z, at the bottom, it only shows that i'm running 1 core! (Also the same on task manager) All chipset drivers etc were installed.I've tried a few things, optimizing my bios and such, but im abit of a novice when it comes to the bios.

Sep 17, 2009I'm trying to make a dual boot system Vista/XP with my HP Media Center purchased in 2007 with Vista pre-installed. Inside Vista I created the partition for XP (disk D and rebooted with the 'XP Pro SP2' inside. After selecting its correct partition for installing it copies all files on hard disk and it reboots in order to start its installation, upon rebooting and starting first time from hard disk, it says that there is an error in the system and stops. If I install only XP on the system it works correctly even though some newest hardware is not recognized. I had already made a dual boot two years ago with a 2007 XP Student Edition and it smoothly. If it is due to the XP version being too old that maybe cannot deal with the boot record created by Vista
Or perhaps such an old XP cannot recognize a boot hard disk that is not C:?
Is there a way to bypass this point (perhaps fixing the boot record) in order to continue correctly the installation?

Dec 31, 2007I originally had Vista Business edition on my laptop and decided to dual boot with XP. So far I created a partition on the same drive (C: ) as Vista and installed XP on it. how do I choose between Vista and XP when my computer boots up? After it finishes the initial installation and restarts it says to press any key to boot from the CD. I wait without pressing anything and than it says that there was an error reading the disk. Also, task manager only shows one CPU graph instead of the usual split screen graphs shown since its a dual core system. This occured on a restart after I re-located the machine to another house. I've been doing incremental backups of "my computer" and certain essential files. Everything appears to be working okay.
