Language Toolbar Appears In Task Bar
Jul 22, 2005
I'm running WinXP Home (SP2). Whenever I reboot, the language toolbar appears in the task bar. I remove it but it shows up again when I reboot. Is there any way to keep it from reappearing?

I want to stop the language toolbar from appearing on my toolbar. I have deselected on the list of toolbars but it seems to reappear: how can I have it not showing, and stay not showing.

Not a serious problem, just an annoyance. One day, I started my computer, and the Language Bar was activated on my tool-bar. I turned it off, but then next time I restarted my computer, it was there again. Basically, any time that I restart my computer, I have to close the language bar.

This may seem petty but here goes. There is a 'Language bar' toolbar on the taskbar. I can right click on the taskbar>toolbars>and uncheck 'language bar' but every time I restart the machine the language bar is back on the taskbar. Anyone know how to keep this from happening. It's not too big a problem, it just adds clutter to my taskbar that I don't want there.

xp pro sp3, office 2003. I work in 2 languages. I had a language bar in my task bar which allowed me always to see which was the chosen language at any time. This disappeared in 2 stages; first the language bar space still showed, but it was blank. Then the empty bar also disappeared. I tried to recover by using the control panel>regional settings>languages route, but the selection button for language bar is grayed out, and I am stuck in keyboard select.

When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL the task manager appears for a second, then minimizes itself to the icon tray. When I position the mouse over the icon it disappears. I've run Norton Antivirus, Ad-aware, Spy Sweeper and Microsoft Anti Spyware, but none of them identify a virus relating to this problem.

I am using XP on my PC at home and am having a problem with keeping open programs available on my task bar. I can open a website ok but if I need to open a second website the first one no longer appears accessible on the task bar. The only way I can get back to website #1 is by using the back arrow. Also if I close the second website the first one closes at the same time. I frequently need to go between two or more websites when working online and not having the link available is inconvenient at best. How can I set my computer so that all open websites will appear on the taskbar?

my computer was recently infected with a Trojan which i seem to have gotten rid of. Today when i opened the task manager it only seems to partially load. It will bring up the process list with the "End Process" button, but that is it. The other tabs and pull down menus are gone. The Task in the taskbar has the icon for it but doesn't have any words next to it

Using Windows XP Sp2.
I am trying to create a task using Task Scheduler, and it asks me to "set account information". I am given three boxes. One of them, marked Run as has "COMPUTERJesse" already filled in. The other two are marked Password and Confirm Password. This is odd, because I am running under an Admin account (yes, generally not smart, but I'm smarter than the average bear when it comes to computers, so I feel confident I'm not going to mess it up with downloading viruses and such
I clicked OK to get out of the "Set Account Information" box, and in the entry for my task, the Status is listed as "Could not Start", Last Result is "0x0", and Creator is "Jesse". how can I get Task Scheduler to run the task and most of all, obey my authori-tah?

I have looked through several threads about this problem and have tried the solutions suggested but so far no success. I hope someone maybe able to come up with something.I have XP Professional installed. On Control Panel/Regional & Language Options/Languages/Details/Advanced the "turn off advanced text services" always seems to get rechecked. Even if you uncheck it the language bar on the task bar does not appear (even though it is ticked on Taskbar/right-click/Toolbars). If the Language bar option becomes available on Control Panel/Regional & Language Options/Languages/Details/Settings, when you open it all the Language Bar Settings are greyed out.

Windows XP-P. Suddenly the language task bar disappeared. I tried all options in regional language setting, not succesful. I have unchecked the "Turn off advanced text services", and clicked "apply", and then goto Preferences>Language Bar, but all Options are greyed out, I can't click any one of the 4 options. And when go back to the Advanced setting, the "Turn off advanced text services" went back to checked position.

Anyone know how to get rid of the "Language Bar"? I thought it might have been a group policy at work that was causing it to reappear after I manually unchecked it in the toolbars option, but I am getting the same problem on my home computer as well. Both PC's (home and work) are running XP SP2. The only difference (if it means anything) is that the work PC is running Office 2003, and my home PC has Office 2007 Beta2TR.

My friend just bought a new Dell desktop computer with XP home edition, and I tried to add Chinses language for him. But when I open the available languages list, I found, to my surprice, Chinese is not on it. I think Dell must have customized XP and somehow deleted Chinese. Is there a way to add it? Or there is nothing I can do?

This thing apperently happens randomly and it happens when I turn my laptop on. There is suppose to be the language bar between (3) and (4) but I tried pushing it into place (apperently I push too much) that it disappeared. From experience I know that all I need to do is restart my computer and all will be well. But I want to solve this problem once and for all, so if anyone can help I will appreciate it alot.here is an image of my problem:http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...untitled-1.jpg Oh and I would like to add that the language bar is not suppose to be between (3) and (4). It's suppose to have only one divider, so in other words, it should be between (4) and the arrow at the end of the system tray thingy. cheers!

Ok, Im DESPRATE for help right now, and im going to explain my whole situation which is grim
I have a SONY VAIO 2.53 GHZ P4 Processor, 512 RAM, Windows XP pro (not so valid edition) 2 year old Comp. And I have 2 hard drives both 200GB, C: (windows and programs) D: video editing files...
I have a project to turn in TOMORROW... I could get in Big trouble and Fail a class if i dont get this done TONIGHT
SITUATION:
Last Night I noticed when I was editing that some of my avi exports were all distorted and fragmented... So i figured "I havent EVER ran defrag (stupid me) on this hard drive maybe I should defrag it" So I looked into a defrag program called "diskeeper" I defragged C: (windows drive) and attempted to defrag D:.... I came to my comp and discovered an error that just said failure with the drive or something... After that I could not access (D I restarted, diskcheck did not work, and I dont want to do system restore... I posted on another websites forum and someone said I probably went over the 137GB limit... I think when I went over the 137GB limit, it possibly overflowed over some kind of boot files or something that lets windows read the disk i dont know (not that techincal with computers)So i looked into that, and I have an ATA card... and Windows NO service pack XP pro... Ive heard things about having a 48 bit bios or something... And after installing WINDOWS XP SP1... I try to get on my computer and i load windows
