There was recently a power surge in my nieghborhood and it effected my computer. My hard drive and internet card were fried completely. When I disassembled my computer we found that the heating fan on my graphics card had broken, keep in mine the graphics card had worked perfectly fine. Also i do not use any games on my computer so the card does not undergo vigorous use. We bought the new parts and i restarted the brandnew clean hard drive and i went on the internet and did a search on google to find that when i scrolled down it moved in bars rather than a smooth flowing motion and when i minimized the screen and moved it around it lagged around quite a bit. ...
I have a Windows XP Pro computer running with a 2.8GHz processor with a Nvidia GeForce Fx 5500 graphics card and 512RAM. However, when I'm in the middle of a "graphics-demanding" game (like warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne), the whole computer will totally freeze. It doesn't just hang or lag but the screen freezes and i have the restart the computer using the reset button. That's not the worst of it. When the computer has rebooted it will freeze from anytime as soon as the desktop begins to load to when the desktop has already loaded. The computer will only start up normally if i just shut it off and turn it on the next day.Oh and the computer can reboot to safe mode or start up to safe mode with no problem at all.
my graphics card is old and slow and i was lookin to but a new one What would u reccomend in the 100$ price range that is fast I have a 2002 windows xp P4 processor 1.50 Ghz and 256 MB of ram, 40.0 Gb, Nvidia TnT2 graphics card

Man this is so sweet, I couldn't play any games before and it made me sad, so I searched and found a perfect graphics card for me! Went to best buy and bought it! But I have a question, this is sweet and all but I was wandering in the OLD version when my graphics card sucked, my CPU & CPU Speed were GREAT.Now.. it's good but not GREAT, anyway to fix this up?
I love to play guild wars.I usually play it on this computer and it runs great. Now lately the game has been going much slower than usual. It is lagging on my computer and not anyone else's.Can anyone tell me what i can do to increase my speed?I have DSL so it shouldn't be too bad.And it just recently started happening so i don't think that it's my graphics card or my RAM which is 1 GB.Dell Optiplex computer.
I have finally got it through my head that my graphics card I currently have is taking UP my ram on my PC.Im suppose to have 256MB, but on my PC it displays that I have 224. *sighs*I was wandering, what graphics card should I get that will give me back all 256 of my members? I WAS going to get this But they ran out of it... SOOO is there ANY OTHER graphics card that I could get... but like in radioshack, bestbuy, stores like that? Im not looking to spend more.
Will any graphcis card work with every motherboard? Because my graphics card is getting old and i want to get a better one. So are their specific graphics cards you can use for your motherboard or can any work?
I just bought a new notebook and reformated the harddrive wiping everything off it. Though now after re-installing XP I can’t find display drivers that will work. The problem is that I don’t have the CD to install them from and have tried the ATI website but it was no good. I have ATI Radeon Mobility technology, what do I do? however many times i try to restart the sound doesn't come on, on my newly installed XP proffesional SP2. this also used to happen to my other operating system media centre edition but not as often as SP2. in media centre edition i used to go to the control panel> sounds and then exited and restarted and everything was ok, but now nothing gets the sound up?? i cannot increase the sound level cause it tells me that the device is not found.
ok this is also a problem for the intel graphics card i have which isn't being recognized by XP. when i do run>dxdiag the graphics card properties and the sound card properties dont come up.
what graphics card will work best for me for my computer for gaming ?i hae a computer that i bought that was custom built but i know only so much about it ( i did not build it). i have been having trouble playing certain games i have bought with requirements like minimum of intel pent. 2.8 HTor amd athlon 2800+ 768MB / 1G RAM and video req of MIN: nvidia 6800GT (SM3) or ATI x*))XT (SM2) with latest aplicable drivers .
Installed radeon 9250. now , i cant see the boot menu . the other graphics card is a intel chipset (onboard) . Is there no way to see the boot menu on the radeon?
I have a problem loading a web site, it loads all the text but the graphics get hung up with blank squares with a red X in the corner. I don't have this problem on my other 2 computers and nothing is new on this one that I haven't done to the other ones, when I run some clean up tools or install new software programs usually all the computers are done alike so the computer I am on is the only one having the problem with the same web site.
When first booting the system it gets to a windows screen and reboots - ad infinitum. When booted in "safe mode" it reads several files (in DOS - I think) and stops on reading a path on the "C" drive ending with something like ...../AGP 440 or ..../AGP 44? (or something smilar).
Do you think it is looking for graphics drivers?I have gone into the BIOS set up to change from a PCI graphics card to the on-board, and there appears to be no PCI card.
I recently installed XP Media center, but my graphics card isn't supported on it. All my original files from XP home edition are still there but i can't seem to get the home edition back onto my laptop with all my original settings.
Im trying to run STEAM, but everytime it runs it only runs in software mode.and i wonder if i have to install the drivers for this video card. its not my laptop, im fixing it for a friend and so i dont know. but id like to know how to navigate to the page where it tells me exactly what kind/model of graphics and video card i have.i dont remember exactly where to go on my computer to see the info.
I want to buy a new graphics card but i want to make sure i get the right one as i recently bought the wrong one and had to send it back.OK i would like to buy the Club 3D Geforce 6600 256Mb Ddr Agp Dvi Tvo or 256MB Sparkle GeForce 6600 AGP I think they are about the same but anyway i am not certain if my computer will take it.My motherboard is Columbia GX (GA-8SIML) Ver 1.0 ATX.
im running windows xp on a computer i built myself: 2.4ghz quad core pentium processor 2 gigs of ddr2 ram nvidia 9800gt graphics card I noticed a problem when running World of warcraft. I recently bought this card and was expecting to see around 70 fps with everything maxed out no problem. instead im seeing around 30-40 and the system seems to hang quite a bit. However, the computer runs farcry 2 quite exceptionally.
I was wondering this computer stays on all the time. I just put a new hard drive in and put the operating system on with the recovery cds. everything works great except for one problem. now 2 or 3 or 4 times a day when you use the computer, and no matter what you leave on when you walk away, like word or a site on the internet whatevert it may be and when you come back the screen is black and the error box that says no signal is on the screen. I made sure the graphics card has the newest driver, and the monitor is pretty new flat screen and always work well. I changed the monitor cable since it was saying no signal I figured it really had to be one of two things, either the monitor cable or the graphics card. My question is do you agree and will a graphics card do that when it is going out? will it work ok when you start the computer and then after awhile get no signal?
I had to reinstall my operating system (Windows XP Media Center), and now i don't seem to have a graphics card. i looked inside my computer and couldn't figure it out. im not really sure what to do.i had intel express family chipset before the reinstallation.
I bought a Visiontek ATI Radeon X1300 512MB graphics card last night and I can't get it to work. No display shows up on my monitor. This card needs an additional power supply which I have supplied (i.e. used one of the extra power plugs from the power supply in my computer). It sounds as if my computer keeps restarting, but can't say for sure since the screen remains black. It works fine when I put back in my old ATI Radeon 9200 series card, but if I try the new card, NOTHING!!! If anyone has this card and has had the same problem, please give me the solution to fixing this.
I'm having trouble removing the graphics card from my computer. I was told to push down on a blue plastic device which will help remove the card. Nothing happens when I move the plastic device that looks like a 7.
whenever I try to install my new graphics card GEforce 5500 i try and install drivers half way through the install the screen goes blank for a few seconds then the computer reboots and then it still looks for the driver when i start the computer back up im running amd duron 750 processor.
Every so often, when I start my computer, the graphics controller does not register correctly and my computer loads some default monitor controller and gives this error that's in the Subject heading. The font turns huge and annoying. I've reloaded, updated, deleted, changed, etc. to the graphics controller. Nothing cures it, except, I was able to do a restore and get it to load correctly. Sometimes it would take a couple of times to do this. Right now, it's on it's 5th time and I'm getting annoyed. It's not working. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
I am looking to purchase a new graphics card. I am looking more for a gaming card. My computer has the following properties: 3.0GHz P4 2.0 Gigs Crucial Ram (DDR PC3200, CL=3, UNBUFFERED, NON- ECC, DDR400, 2.6V, 128Meg x 64)MSI MS-6788 (865PE NEO2-V) Window XP Pro
I am trying to install new graphics card(Radeon 9250). I had my onboard graphics disabled but windows reinstalls it.I insterted the ATI disc, and I recieved the message,"try to set up with display adapter with standard VGA driver before running set up". Got me. I have a Dell Dimension 2400, 768MB RAM,and I am so unsure of anything else.
I recently reinstalled XP but to my chagrin, it seems I cannot install the manufacturers drivers for graphics adapter or monitor, but am stuck with the generic, default drivers whose performance is horrible. It takes forever for the screen to update. I used to know what to do to fix this, but have forgotten how.
