Third Party Program To Create My Own Set Of Restore DVDs?

You build a new system, install a fresh copy of Win XP Pro and install all of the updates and your favorite programs. The system starts in 30 seconds and runs like a charm. As time goes on you install and uninstall a few programs and games, and your system slows to a crawl and crashes all the time.

Dec 3, 2006I am trying to create a full HD image of my Dell c800 Laptop using Drive Image 7 (circa 2003) to an USB HD. I have tried twice and received failures about my HD having bad sectors OR locked sectors. I ran check disc with repair and did not find any problems. Re-ran check disc from the boot disc that came with the application and found no problems with the disc. Tried again for a backup and received the same error. I am thinking it is one of the programs I have loaded has a locked sector or one of my processes that loads during boot is the problem?

Aug 9, 2005I'm looking ahead to the time when an attempt to do an Acronis Create Image will not be possible because there is not enough room on my external hard drive. Presently, I run a fresh Create Image monthly and now have three versions on my external drive. I can probably store a total of 5-6 before I run out of space.
Do you know what will happen when I attempt to run a Create Image and find that there is not enough room for another file?
And, does Acronis then give me a way to delete the oldest file from the E drive, or must I use some other facility, such as clicking on the oldest and selecting 'delete this file' from the selections in the vertical window on the left of the screen?

We need to install a retriction that will create an Administrator Password that can not be deleted by simply logging into safe mode. I deleted the partition via the Windows Install/Setup menu, but when the PC boots, it lists Windows 2K as one of the startup/OS options. Unfortunately, I only have a basic Windows XP installation CD - and if there's a way to get to a prompt and do it from there, I can't remember. I'm not permitted to download or install anything without permission and my boss is out of town until Thursday. He may call in tomorrow (or he may not). So please, don't point me to Bart's PE or anything that requires installing an .ISO burner. I need to be able to do this with the tools that Windows XP, SP 2 native.These are laptops I'm working with and they do not have floppy drives, so I cannot use floppy disks.

Prior to doing anything else with that computer I would like to do a backup ( preferably complete ) on to a DVD(s) that will simplify an instillation if I ever end up having to reformat. If something happens down the road I would just like to install XP and then use my backup to restore it to what I have today. 2 HD (plenty of space one each) Win XP SP3, Athlon xp2400 - 2 gig RAM.Did all the appropriate things like defrag and set all the permissions of the admin and users in Safe Mode.Doesn't matter which of the 2 drives I select, doesn't matter what size or even system managed - allocated memory is always 0. Every reboot the error 'you have no pagefile or it's too small' still comes up.I tried to use Recovery Console from my CD - but I get the message your version of Windows (SP3) is newer than the version on the CD - you will overwrite it if you re-install. So I cancel out.

To search for a file, click the Search button, and then click Search.[pop-up #2, once I click "OK" in pop-up #1]. Unable to create the file 'New Briefcase'File system error (16389). Also when I start up my computer, I get a message identical to pop-up #1, except the file is "1". Just the number 1. It seems to be harmless though. As far as I know, the .com extension is unusual. Could it be malware/spyware?
