I'm wondering about deleting the contents of my temp folder. There are some folders in it that have items related to my Norton Scanner and some related to Outlook Express. Also theres the cookie and temorary internet folders. If I delete these enitre folders will it harm the programs at all?? Is it safe to just select everything in the temp folder and delete it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOutlook Express 6 XP.Appended to my Inbox I have folders for different addresses and Message Rules causes the emails to go into the right folders. This has been working well since about 1997. Just clicked on the folder that contains mail received to my most important address and it looks empty.It says in blue next to the folder that there are heaps in there but while all the other folders open fine when I click on this one it does not show any emails and the hour glass comes on and stays on (disallowing any other action in OE from that point on) until I use Control+Alt+Delete to forcibly close Outlook Express.I have been dumping emails from other folders in case it is a capacity thing, have rebooted PC no luck.

When I send an email the message is sent with an undisplayed warning and the message remains in the Outbox after it has been sent resulting in it being continually resent until I manually delete it from the Outbox. A copy of the message is not saved to the Sent Folder even though the option is checked.I have run Nortons Utilities - and other utilities - and cleaned up Windows Registry and other Windows Errors - to fix my problem (without success). Is my Outbox damaged? Do I have to restore Outlook Express?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a program, or shoulfd that be a group of files, that are appearing over time in the TEMP folder and they are very annoying. The files are all 0KB in size, and though I can get rid of them with a reset of the system, I'd like to know how and why they are there.
All the filenames are just numbers, i.e. 5807.exe
One morning I had 14 of these files. They seem to have appeared over night. I have tried deleting them, but I am told they are being used and cannot be deleted, but I am unable to find out what program is using them.
Outlook Express folder list and Contacts list are not showing. I've walked her through the process of clicking on View at the top of the Outlook Express Interface and setting the Layout items so that her Contacts and Folder list should be on the screen, but they are not. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify the situation and I've run out of options. The way it is without her folders list she cannot access her deleted folder and her sent folder and cannot delete anything from those folders. Is there anything else I can do to bring up those her contacts list and her folders list?

They have practically disappeared at different times one from another. XP SP2 musn't be blamed because this issue has sprung up prior to its installation. I had to change the names of the servers to: pop.att.yahoo.com and smtp.att.yahoo.com. The port settings are the same 465 and 995. Also, my password is the same. The problem is when I try to receive or send mail, Outlook Express repeatedly asks me to enter my username and password for the servers.
