Net Is Not Supported On This Platform

My question is this. I have a fully patched Win2000 Pro computer with IIS running. When I try to install .Net runtime (any version), I get an error that says, ".Net is not supported on this platform." I've tried everything I can think of and read every thing I could find and nothing seems to work. It's becoming a problem because more and more software is requiring that you have it installed.Iread all the .net requirements on MS site and made sure that I meet all those requirements.Another board has suggested that I do a clean reinstall of 2000 pro and I'm prepared to do that, but I'd really rather not.

I was under the impression that XP would only work on NTFS? but my dads INstal of XP on his ACER is FAT32 why is this?

I have a peculiar problem. I can dial-up the internet after a boot-up but should I let my connection drop or sign out and want to reconnect,I get an "ERROR 50: request not supported.". Multiple attempts will not reconnect me. I bought a new modem, intalled it and still get the same message on attempting my second connection.I can always get back on the net but re-booting each and every time is a pain in the It appears I'm not the first to come to this group with the same complaint but I've not found a solution to the problem in this newsgroup.

I have an HP Laser Jet 1012 that is assigned to port DOT4_001. I am trying to delete the port but each time I try, I get the following error message: "Selected port cannot be deleted.The request is not supported"I am running WinXP and have full administrative rights.I have also removed the printer and reinstalled it with the same results.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A205-S5000 with Vista home on it and it works OK, but I bought a larger HDD and I thought that I would put Windows XP PRO on it, I went from a Hitachi 160GB 2.5" SATA drive to a 250GB drive, same Manufacturer, the only difference in the drives is the original was a SATA 1.50 and the new drive is a 3.0, BIOS see's the drive and the XP disk does al the usual stuff, then it asks if you want to Install windows on it, so I click OK and then it says the windows cannot detect any HDD and aborts the installation, I know that the 2 SATA's are compatible and the only draw back is that the 3.0 may operate in the 1.5 mode in the worse case scenario, but windows doesn't see the drive at all.

Recently I was playing a game, when my screen froze. I then shut my computer down to restart it, used it a few times (in 4-bit safe mode), then after I shutdown again, I cant log back in... it just freezes and the screen flashes, I cannot boot into my computer setup (default f2) or into safe mode (default f8), however I can run the XP cd and get into the recovery console, is there any way that I can change the boot sequence from the recovery console? The screen is dotted with a bunch of dots up and down the screen in columns, and is in 4-bit video mode.
I have a Dell xps gen 5 with xp home.
the error I get is:
"Error: Cant enter setup. Video Mode 103 not supported by this video card."

Just formatted my desktop and installed a fresh copy of XP Pro on it. I did a search on google and found that some people said XP does not support directX 10, but then when you go to the directX website to download it, Windows XP IS under the list of "Supported Operating Systems". So is 10 supported by XP, or do I have to download 9.0c?
