May 9, 2006I know this is so simple for someone,but not me. I just changed the batteries in my wireless keyboard and now it will not type. My wireless mouse still works. I have had this problem before, but it has been so long ago I can't remember what I did to get it started again. I am using my laptop now.

Jul 20, 2005I need the name of the .inf file that the hardware wizard needs to install this webcam. The Logitech QuickCam Zoom v.8.4.6 software installs but the hardware wizard says that a required inf file cannot be found. I spoke with Logitech support and they had me uninstall the software using Add/Remove, then delete Logitech folders, and edit the registry to remove all references to Vid_046, then perform a clean boot. Reinstalled the software, when it said to restart, I clicked no, then changed msconfig back to normal startup, then rebooted. Upon reboot, I get the Logitech splash screen saying to connect camera to pc. When I do, the hardware wizard starts but gives the error that the .inf file cannot be found and the Logitech screen says that no camera was connected. (Should I have rebooted, connected camera, then changed msconfig back to normal startup?) I ran services.msc and find that Human Interface Device Access is Disabled. Could this be keeping the system from finding the..inf file?

May 12, 2008First of all, I'd like to address the fact that this thread is on the wrong board, but I'll be honest and say I picked it because so many people are viewing, and I really need some help. I don't exactly know where to put this thread, so if a mod feels the need to move this, go ahead. I am using Windows XP, though.Anyway, my friend let me have his old headset a few months ago, and it, basically, isn't working very well. For some reason, some days it works decently, and others not at all. I've found out that for the times it does work, I need to have the mic right up to my lips, and even then my friends have a hard time hearing me. My headset is always turned on, and I have the sensitivity all the way up. It's one of those headsets where two jacks come out the end, one a headphone and another a microphone jack. They are both firmly stuck into my motherboard.

May 5, 2004I have had this problem and no one seems to know the answer. I reinstalled windows (before my headset was transmiting my voice perfectly) and when I tested my Mic, it didn't work! I could hear through it but my voice just wouldn't go through. I checked out the recorder on Windows, no sound. I did the check in the audio controls in the control panel, it didnt detect my voice either!I don't know what to do, I even bought a new headset and it still doesnt work, can anyone help me out? I even tried to do detect hardware (even though it should be plug and play, right?) but it wasn't found, help?

I have an Xbox 360 set up to run on my monitor, and until recently had the audio run through my line-in connection and output through my headset with 3.5mm jacks. Then I bought a usb headset, and can no longer find a good way to pass the line-in audio through to the usb sound card built into the headset.I tried using Audacity to playback audio as it recorded, and it works, but the sound quality is terrible, and I really would like a better solution than that.Other things I've tried is using a winamp plugin (I couldn't even get that to start working) and opening my computer's basic sound card's input as a capture device in VLC media player (couldn't get it to work either).Can anyone provide a better way get the Xbox audio to the usb headset? an increase in sound quality to audacity would be ok, I may just need to learn to set it up better.

Aug 20, 2005First, my notebook has been working normally until yesterday afternoon. Windows XP Home Edition was installed by the manufacturer and was working properly. But yesterday, when I started up and logged on to my computer, and everytime since, Windows Installer automatically launches. It gives the message something like: "wait while Windows configures Windows XP." Then the installer asks me to to insert the Windows XP CD, which of course I don't have since Windows XP was factory installed on this notebook. I cancel the process and everything seems to work normally. Is there a way I can stop this from happening?

Sep 3, 2010I have a very old Desktop computer which is now so old that it's only useful purpose is projects and goofing around. I just dumped both of the hard drives (Two IDE hard drives, both on the same bus) in the computer in order to reload a fresh version of Windows XP. The Setup seemed to go as planed, except that only one of the Hard drives is fully recognized (C:).. Everything is connected correctly, I can even see the other hard drive in the Device Manager. The Device Manager states that the device is working properly, however I can't access it, can't store anything to it, it doesn't even appear in the 'My Computer'.. The second drive is suppose to be the 'F:' drive, I know that this system will work because it worked before I dumped the hard drives.

Nov 25, 2006Whenever I try to download a different type of browser (one with tabs) other than using the old IE6, it works fine for a few hours, but the next morning, the browser isn't able to connect & display any type of page. I've already gone through this routine using Tablane, Opera, Firefox, and Flashpeak Slimbrowser. Also, I have tried to update my version of Internet Explorer to IE7, but that never will connect, not even fo a few hours. I always end up having to go back to a restore point before I can use IE again. So.... I have looked around for answers/solutions to this issue, but I'm not even really sure what I looking for.
