I can copy pictures, links etc. but when I go to paste them, the paste option is not highlighted so I am not able to use this. What do I do to fix this?For example, I can highlight the link above, right click and select copy. When I want to paste it, the paste option is not highlighted, I am not able to use paste. This is same for all text and pictures.

There is no error message - they just don't work.For example, if I open a document with Notepad and try to move all or part of it into an internet email then nothing happens. No error messages, just nothing. Same with my word processor I'm using OpenOffice Writer for word processing, free version, and got nothing from them on this question.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to put the pictures that I saved from the My Pictures folder back to the My Pictures folder. I have set one of them as the new desktop background. (It was before the format).I have typed in "Export Pictures from CD to My Pictures folder" without the quotes and I get a list of links pertaining to CD recording errors and other things like that. I did right click on a picture in Drive E (my CD-RW) just to see what would come up and I noticed that on the Send To menu that these pictures can be sent to the desktop.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have taken a series of pictures on different days and downloaded them into a folder in My Pictures. I need to put them in a sequence so I right clicked each picture and re-named it as follows: 001jpg, 002jpg and so on for 100 pictures. In view, I selected arrange icons by modified and all the pictures moved to the sequence I wanted. All is well and good until I copied the folder to a CD. All the pictures reverted to their original sequence instead of the sequence I put them in.
How can I copy the folder with the pictures in the sequence I put them in? Whenever I open the picture file to look at that folder, they are always in the sequnce I put them in
I am using an old Dell with XP and Internet Explorer 7. When previewing some images I have stored in My Pictures, I find when using the 'previous' and 'next' buttons I am able to pull up the next or previous pictures as I should. But when I e-mail an image to myself and then use the 'next' or 'previous' buttons, I begin to get images from web sites I have recently visited even if it is just my home page. While scanning my home page, for instance, I collect dozens of images in a matter of minutes.The only change I have made recently is a download of info from a digital camera disc to enable me to store pictures from my new camera.
I did a system restore to a couple of days before that download but I'm still copying dots, dashes, logos and pictures or frames from videos.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI can't cut, copy, or paste anything. when I right click it the menu will pop up and the cut, copy and paste options are listed, but when I go to where I need to paste what ever I have cut or copied the menu that pops up only has two options.......[1] select all ......and [2] properties. What can I do to remedy this problem... I did here recently reformat the HHD and re-install windows XP (with in the last two weeks) thanks for any help given on this topic.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am running XP Pro with IE8, there is a problem when I attempt to copy and paste, I can put the pointer on where I want to start highlighting and it will not follow the movement of the mouse when attempting to highlight. You can put the pointer on a sentence and hold the mouse while sliding and it will not highlight, or it may start highlighting somewhere in the middle or maybe not at all. I have tried from bottom up and top down, it makes no difference, this is driving me crazy because I use the copy and paste feature quite often. I've never had this happen before, something appears to be conflicting; but I've been running the same programs for a long period of time and never seen this before.

I haven't done it in a while and I don't think I changed any settings. I used to be able to do it and now nothing shows up on my email when I try to paste. I also have Word and the picture doesn't come up either, just an empty box.

Sometimes when I have copied something the Paste key is greyed out but the text is saved in YC. Other times it is not saved either place.
