After Reformating Deep And Fresh Reinstall Cant Load Java

I have a problem with explorer had it before and after reformating deep and fresh reinstall cant load java or activex at all and I get no yellow warning bars.Java would not install auto or manual from the java site.So I went sun's site and got it to install from the download but still nothing works.Wont a virus scan find a boot sector bug?It affects firefox to so I cant go to support site because they have errors where contact buttons should be.winxp pro updated from original to 1 then sp2.Its oem so it $59 at microsoft for support.My software skills are sadly lacking or I would look in the regestry but I would'nt know what to look for.Im a hardware guy not software.By the way it runs games just fine and no problems with any other software.

Because of massive system porblems I have had t reinstall XP Pr with SP2. Before reinstalling XP I formmated the hard drives t give me a blank canvas to work. The reinstall worked fine but I cannot reinstall my Virgin Media Bradband service. Before the reinstall the bradband service was wrking fine..When I originall took out the bradband service it was through NTL. My cable modem states 'NTL' and the broadband disk has NTL' on it and I registered it tthough NTL. Now Virgin Media has bought up NTl annd I don't know if there is a compatibility prblem. Des somebdy else know?

I just reinstalled XP on one of my computers because it had some problem. It is a dell E1505 laptop. Got windows loaded and started doing the drivers.I got to the chipset driver they suggested and after it was done installing, my mouse no longer worked and I had to use the touchpad. Looking at the Device Manager, it looks like some of my usb hubs are not active. I tried plugging the mouse into all the ports and nothing happened. It is just a dell standard mouse, so it shouldnt need any additional driver support.

Ive been using WindowBlinds but when i booted this morning it wont start with windows and my theme changed to windows classic. i thought it was a problem with WindowBlinds but the problem still remained after a fresh reinstall. Even a system restore wont fix it. I have Tune-Up Utilities but Tune-up styler that cannot apply themes as well!started when i installed CounterSpy last night.

I just installed XP SP2. I have a Sr100T 2.8ghz desktop. I used this cd about a year ago to do a fresh install of xp, and everything worked, I think, I don't remember honestly. Now I used the same cd, installed, but after the Compaq main screen comes up (where it gives options to boot menu, setup, recovery) the screen goes black for about 10 secs, then a tons of white bars in a line appear on the bottom of the screen shows up.

computer started to run very poorly: lagging, freezing up, windows end task etc finnaly one day it would not go into desktop. would only give option to start in normal mode or safe mode. so i tried starting in both but would only restart into the same option screen.I decided it was best to format harddrive and reload windows. insert windows disk and proceeded to format partition and reinstall windows. it formats all that way to 90 % and then states cannot format partition further, harddrive problems and to trouble shoot manual. tried quick format and repair but still nothing.tried restarting without reinstall disk. says cant access OS of course!

I recently got my computer back from the computer fixing guy (because I killed the master boot record and I had no idea how to fix it) and it's a lot slower than it was before. It was a clean install of XP, and the only difference I can see is that the computer magician installed PC-cillin on it. It's not any specific program that's slow now either. Firefox, IE, Unreal Tournament, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Civilization 4, all the stuff I usually use is equally slow

I installed Deepfreeze because I mess up the registry a lot on my computer and instead of paying to get it fixed all the time, I thought Deepfreeze was a good idea. I found out the hard way that when Deepfreeze says it restores your computer back to baseline, it really means that. I lost all my work I made because Deepfreeze got rid of it. I heard that you have to make a virtual thawspace to save your date without it being annuled. Can somebody give me the documentation on how to do that? Or has anybody ever done this before?

I'm currently trying to install Service Pack 2 onto my computer which is running XP, but everytime I run the install it tries to do it on a tiny partition (8meg) I have. As a result it doesn't have enough room to install SP2 and quits the install.
1 Can I tell SP2 or my computer to install on my primary partition? 2 Can get rid of the tiny partition without reformating the drive?

I can't install JAVA on my computer. I get error 1722 from java. I have followed everything on the page regarding how to get around this problem but with no success. My computer, actually both of my computers, have been running extremely slow lately and they have so much junk on them that I want to get off. I know that just removing them and deleting files will not solve anything seeing as the hard drive is never fully deleted, but i have heard that there is a way of reformating your hard drive. My goal is to put my computers back into the condition they were when I first bought them. I have a Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 2, and I would be really thankful if someone could help me put my computer back to the way it was. I am not at all interested in keeping personal files or anything on my computer, I just want the computer exactly the way it was when I first bought it with the programs that were already preinstalled still in it.

After reformating my pc, my secondary hard drive is now designated as drive "D". Before the reformat it was drive "G". I have software that needs to get data from drive "G" but the drive is not designated as "G" any longer. I can't remember how to reassign the drive letters so that I can designate the secondary drive as "G".

First my computer was cutting off in the middle of any program. I decided to delete everything on the drive and reformat it and reload windows xp. While trying to load windows xp it would load the set up but when going to load files it locked up everytime. I tried also loading windows 98, 95 and they too locked up. At one point it said I had a virus in my boot sector and at another time it said I had a virus in my RAM. I got a program called PC Beginner to help partition my drive and redo the MBR. I can partition the drive and format it but windows still doesn't load. Now I wonder if there is a problem with the mother board and I have a dual bios board, I was wonder if there is a program loaded in the dual bios that may somehow causing my problem. If so what can be done to clear the problem? How can I get windows reloaded?

I reinstall Windows XP Home because My computer was messed up. It deleted all my files.. so on my desktop screen I don't have any Program Files Icons. BUT it still save my Files. I have my orginial files in my Documents folders and In my Program Files It has all the Programs and files that go with that program? How do I zap everything back on my desktop screen so I don't have to go Download each files as new again??? And I how do i get my Internet Favorite Links and my Notepad with my saved information in it? Yes I did try the "Start" and then program files and none of the programs are there.. 1. My desktop remains blank without any icons.
2. clt+alt+del shows all choices except task manager - so I am allowed to reboot and shutdown
3. When I enter in safe mode cannot see desktop nor icons
4. Ran Norton Antivirus 2007 boot with CD - no virus found
5.Prior to crash desktop went RED, hence I rebooted and then the issues.

PC was rebooted and this message showed up. I couldn't get to safe mode so I put the XP disc in. I got to the D:winint dir and tried to run bootcfg to scan for the boot file. It came back that it couldn't find it. I was able to see the dir's and data on the 2 drives. I ran chkdsk to see if that would solve the problem, it didn't. Do you think this is a BIOS problem or a missing boot problem. If it was the BIOS would I be able to read the drive. Looking for a fix without destroying everything.

My Help and Support stopped working about the same time I installed the free utility GhostScript / Gsview so that I could view postscript files. I tried posting a question on another usenet newsgroup, but the answer of: click on install on the C:windowsinfpchealth.inf file - resulted in a search for the file dataspec.xml in the C:windowsinfi386 directory - Unfortunately, such directory does not exist on my C: drive. Furthermore, the "K:I386" directory of my Original Win XP Home CD does not contain any file named "dataspec.xm_ or .xml".And beyond that, I ordered a new Win XP SP2 CD, which just now arrived by mail - and there is no "K:I386" directory on that CD, nor does the CD apparently contain any file called "dataspec" (including dataspec.*).Another effort toward resolution occurred via another usenet post I read, which suggested opening the XP command line feature and executing a system status command, that displayed enabled services - I used that method, and switched the Help and Support service off and then on again. Such action did not in-fact enable the Help feature (including, of course restart), despite the indication that the Help and Support service was enabled. I am, and have been, running a purchased-CD version of Win XP Home, with a downloaded SP2 revision (I have not installed the new Win XP SP2 CD). I've been having some internet connectivity problems lately, and I believe it's due to some nasty spyware. I've already gone through all the steps to correct this (checking my DSL speed, anti-spyware scans, anti-virus scans, doing it all in safe mode, even reset my winsock.dll, etc.) but I'm still having problems with slow browsers. So now I think I'm faced with reinstalling Windows XP. My question is, should I do a format & reinstall, or is it better to reinstall Windows over my existing version? I have a Compaq Presario, and it comes with a Recovery CD.

I googled it and seen that it could be caused by a linksys wireless router, one was installed on the system before, but has been uninstalled for quite some time now. I was wondering what the difference was whether you had a program load at startup (by checking a box within the program to have it load when the computer boots) and unchecking that box but moving a shortcut to the programs executable into the startup folder on the start menu.

I installed the java 6 update 11 And when I sign into the program that is linked to it may computer restarts. Thought I had a virus so I completely reformatted drive and reinstalled windows(running xp home edition). When I uninstall the update the program works but is real slow.

I'm having a problem updating my java.I presently have j2se RTE 5.0.9 installed.I tried several times I get update version 10 with no luck.Everytime I went to the java site the 09 was listed.Now I see a new update to Java 6.0 and today is the 3rd try for that but when I click to download the site is always unavailable.With the exception of tuesdays Microsoft critical updates my system is up to date.

I've updated java on a new install of xp.before installing java 6 update 6 I uninstalled what ever java could be uninstalled from add/remove programs.
I've just been in there now and I find that I have both java 6 update 6 plus java 6 update 4.
