When I Tried To Start Mail Application, Nothing Happens
Oct 28, 2009
I was looking at the Tutorial by Mr GRiM about re-instating Windows Mail in Windows 7. I followed everything and it seemed to go alright. The only problem was that when I tried to start the application, nothing happens. Can anyone help?
The error states:explorer.exe - application error The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application. When I click OK, i just have a black screen. I can get the task manager going by hitting control, alt, delete. I've tried to start explorer.exe from the file menu, but get the same error.
I tried to replace 3 files in the system 32 folder, and must have made a mistake along the way leaving my laptop inaccessible once logged on. The three files were:
uxtheme.dll themeui.dll themeservice.dll
I received these error messaged when logged on:dwm.exe - Application error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application.explorer.exe - Application error the application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click ok to close the application. Can system restore revert back the files so it was like i never attempted the patch?
I don't what happened but all of a sudden a message box opens up on my windows 7 laptop and it says this " the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application" . I clicked ok but the error message box keeps returning back.If i remember properly, this happened when I tried installing some wallpaper.system seems to be working finw with all applications, but this message box is quite annoying.
Our office has an old program that we still need to use when upgrading our PC's to Windows 7. The program will run fine if you start a windows virtual PC and install and run it. However, based on the needs of our office, I need to be able to run Windows XP mode and simply have an icon for our users to click to take them to the application. If I install the program in windows XP mode, and then add a shortcut to the file under all users/start menu, a shortcut is placed in the appropriate place on the windows 7 machine and I can copy that shortcut ot the desktop. The program runs fine until you restart the computer. Once you restart the computer and double click the link on the windows 7 desktop to the program running in windows XP mode, it says:
Cannot start virtual application. The application is blocked from running as a virtual application.
I read some other posts saying to put a new shortcut in the all users/start menu folder. This works, but only until our users restart their computer. The next time the computer is up, the problem happens again. This is not an acceptable solution to have to create a new shortcut for each workstation each time the computer is restarted.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. I've been using it for some time without problems, but this morning I was unable to get on the Internet. Yesterday I'd installed an update for ZoneAlarm which I thought was probably the problem, so I uninstalled in and downloaded and installed PC Tools Firewall Plus instead. no my computer will connect to the Internet OK, but whenever I try to open most programs, I get the following error:"The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."The only two exceptions I've found are Microsoft Security Essentials and Internet Explorer which both work fine.
I'm trying to run a .bat file but when i start it cmd won't start and it gives the error message"The application was unable to start correctly (oxc0000142). Click OK to close the application."
The problem that i am facing is that, my windows 7 search is instantaneous but when i click on the application the application takes time to load but if i run the same application from Desktop it will load immediately. This happens only one first time after bootup.
I have read the Windows Mail tutorial but I have a problem.
I have used Take Ownership and removed Windows Live Mail 64 and installed Windows Mail 64 as per tutorial.
I have the shortcut on the desktop but when I try to open from there it says:-
Windows Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Mail message store. Windows Mail was unable to locate its message database. If you’ve moved the database files to a new location, click okay to reset the database to that location.
I clicked okay and I now click on the hidden folder Widows Mail hoping that will do the trick, it doesn’t!
The next error message I get is:-
Windows Mail could not be started. The application was unable to open the Windows Mail message store.
The last error message I get is:-
Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialised.
I am starting to get errors on my computer when I try opening any browser. on IE, it turns on for half a second and closes and shows this, It shows a "RunDLL" error, The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the aplpication event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail. Chrome is the same error but with the chrome location instead of inetcpl.cpl, same with firefox. What I did before this, everytime I turned on the computer, right after the splash screen when i first turn it on, it power goes off and restarts a few times and then it boots.

I am getting a error that says "Windows Backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed (0x800800005)". I found a couple articles saying my account didnt have the rights to do a backup. I dont know how this could be since I have a weekly scheduled backup and havent had a problem and I havent changed my rights. Plus Im logged on as a administrator. So the solution I found said this "Your Windows user account doesn't have the privileges it needs to run the task, Thomas. Go to Start, right-click Computer, then choose Manage, Local Users and Groups, Groups. Right-click Administrators and click 'Add to group', Add, Advanced, Find Now. Double-click Local Service and press Ok" Fix Backup & Restore when it won't start However Local users and Groups does not appear in my computer management. Im using Home Premium which is why I believe. Anyhow I dont plan to continue solely using windows backup either.
I am trying to fix my grandaughters acer asprire one d 255 it will not boot up the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is corrupt when i try to restore to factory settngs only gets to 16 % and gives a error code sysyem restore failed i/o device error f10 brings me to edit boot option so itry to type bootrec/fixboot. if i could type the right thing on the edit boot option might work but not sure what to type . Since there is no disc drive to insert disc how do i do a system restore with no disc drive
every few days my computer seems to stop letting programs open. If I try to open a program like Firefox, for example, the window just never shows upThen trying to open the Task Manager gives me an error saying, "This application was unable to start correctly. Click OK to close the application."I honestly can't think of what the problem could be. This is happening on a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional 64-bit from about 3 weeks ago
. HP pavilon dv4- 1318TU having 4 gb ram and 320 hard disk, dore2 deo processer ... now im going to explian every thing... my pc hav windows vista inbuilt.... i upgraded... to Windows 7 ultimate.. manytimes.. and now this time 1 yr later... i installed Windows 7 home premium... 3 days b4.. and now too.... when ever i open any application .. this appears... THE APPLICATION WAS UNABLE TO START CORRECTLY (0X0000005).CLICK OK TO CLOSE THE APPLICATION ANTIVIRUS is not working too.. i did disck check no errors.
I could not find any solutions to this bug on the internet right now so I am coming here to see if anyone has a solution. This is the exact error that I am getting."The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) Click OK to close the application"..This happens whenever I open a .exe or application type file. I cannot get into Command Prompt as it says it when I try to enter that also.I do not want to re-install Windows 7 on my computer because I have important stuff on my computer.
I tried to un-hibernate my laptop this morning (I tend to only hibernate it overnight if I know I'm going to be using it immediately the following morning) and it won't let me log in.
By this I mean that it takes at least 15 minutes of the cursor in the middle of a black screen before it gets to the Login screen. The first time this happened, I was able to Login, but after that, none of the icons loaded up, only the taskbar. After which, a message popped up saying "WinLogin.exe - Bad Login". At which point I manually restarted the computer (as the Start button wasn't working) and chose "Start Windows normally." Now I am at the point that whenever it gets to the Login screen, it immediately restarts, and thus goes into a loop. I stopped this loop by manually restarting again, and selecting safe mode, at which point I got the following error message:
"WerFault.exe Application Error The instruction at 0x000007FEFD6C283C referenced memory at 0x000007FEFD6C283C. The required data was not placed into memory because of an I/O error status of 0xc0000185. Click on OK to terminate the program." This was the only action I could take, so I did so. This immediately followed by an identical error message except with a different code, which began 0x000077....I was unable to see the rest because at that point the computer restarted.
Upon the next restart, I received a Blue Stop error message, which displayed for a few seconds before shutting down again. Key words I managed to see include: "There is an error with the program. The system was shut down to prevent damage to your computer. ...crucial thread issue...."
I literally have no idea what to do. If booting in Safe Mode has no effect, what can be done? I have also tried pressing F8 at the Dell startup screen (where it says to press F2 or F12 etc) but this just froze the machine!
I am running a 64 bit version of Windows 7 on a Dell Studio 1555 laptop.
I tried to open ViewNX2 software and got the message "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). I have searched trying to resolve the problem but have been unsuccessful.
Using only start (or the shell thing), how do I launch the "volume mixer" application so I can control the sound level of my computer?Note: No keyboard, no access to system tray, no questions.
I have Windows 7 and I recently installed CCleaner and degragler and ran and re-ran then both. Since then I cannot get into Mozilla and I recently installed Trend Micro because my anti-virus was about to expire. The error message I get states:
The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.
Every time I try to log in to my user, (which is administrator) I am met by a box containing the error in the title. I am able to use safe mode fine (which I'm using now) and have tried doing numerous scans and fixes such as SFC-Scannow, Norton Antivirus and System Restore but each one cannot find any threats. Close to the time this started happening, I turned off my laptop by the power switch instead of using the "Start" menu as it was taking ages to switch off.
The above error message comes up when i try to open anything, the computer is running extremely slowly.I am not very technical when it comes to computers.
i couldn'nt open media players ms office -excel word and i couldn't run all my software in desk top i receive the messege "The Application wasnable to start correctly 0xc0000142
