I use a 23" LCD monitor, and for the longest time I used VGA.. I tried using HDMI but for some reason there was black bars around the screen and the quality was bad.. I was messing around in the Catalyst Control Center and I found the scaling options and VOILA I can now use the HDMI on a nice 1920x1080 resolution.. the only problem was in games when I WASNT using 1920x1080 there would be black bars.. If I used 1920x1080 in games it would be fine I am just curious how to fix this..

How do I disable display scaling in "Microsoft Office 2010"? Checking disable in properties doesn't work like it does for non Microsoft programs. Does anyone know an advanced way to trick it into disabling DPI scaling?

Is there any way to force the Standard VGA Driver to display in 1280x1024 32bit? If I look at the modes available, then I find 1280x1024, but only in 16bit.
I have an old Nvidia GeForce2 MX/400, and after installing the XP drivers I was able to run at 1280x1024 in 32bit, but I was getting some crashes in nv4_mini.sys when trying to install DVDFab. "The Internet" tells me that this is due to the XP drivers, so I uninstalled them again and rolled back to the Standard VGA Driver and was able to install the software. But now I am limited to 16bit again.
So, is there any way to force this?

I can't get my resolution above 1280x1024, I'm on a 27" monitor wanting to set it at 1900x1200 but the disc I used previously no longer works.

I'm on Windows 7 Professional 64 bits My motherboard has an onboard graphics card that works just fine. I installed an old PCI graphics card in order to use more monitors (TNT2 Riva by NVidia). The card is so old that it doesn't have a driver for Windows 7 64bits (it seems that it works in 32 bits)As a result Windows 7 uses a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" as the driver, the monitor and card works but it wont let me go above 1024x780, is there any way to force a higher resolution in this driver? Both my monitor and card can support it?

I have a Dell Monitor model # 1908fwpt and we have used it as an external for a few laptops now, and on the last two hook-ups it has constant, non-flickering white horizontal lines across the screen. The only resolution that doesn't is 1280x1024 for some reason. I have changed the cables, used both VGA and DVI, and run the self-diagnostics and updated all drivers. I have chased this issue up and down and not been able to come up with a way to fix it. The monitor is not old, it hasn't been used very much, and I really don't want to replace it...
Since its done it on a few different computers I tend to think its not a driver issue, or a cable issue... And the one resolution it works on is all stretched out and flat.
