Anyone know how to get all special keys (fn, media) working on a Sony Vaio in Windows 7? Obviously Sony has no drivers for these and no, the Vista versions do not work at all. Tried already.
I'm using Windows 7 ultimate, 32bit.

I say this because I used to use launchy in my xp and my hotkey for starting that was alt+space but now I am using 7 and 7 has a better search index than xp so I dont see the point of having launchy again.

My fn button is broken so i always used 'sound volume hotkeys' program to change the volume by using the win button + up/down arrow key to change the volume on my laptop with xp. But now when i click the win + arrow button it just minimises/maximises whatever window im looking at.
In a perfect world id like to remove the windows hotkeys so i can get that program to work, so just wondering if its possible.
I was wondering if there is a way to remap the windows hotkeys or even disable them.
You see, I am wanting to use alt+tilde as a keybind in a game I play, but whenever I push it, it seems to be a keybind for Windows 7 that has to do with the taskbar.
as I have a ntb without buttons for controlling sound volume, I have installed a program called Sound volume hotkeys - it allows to control volume with hotkeys: WIN + UP (resp. DOWN). The problem is that Win 7 has "occupied" the hotkeys, is there a way how to change it? I do not need the function by Win 7 (maximize × restore/minimize) at all.

I think such tasks are accomplished by sending a certain combination of hotkeys to Windows 7, and if so, is it possible for me to know which keys they are (maybe by using a keylogger or some sort of keystroke detecting programs). As I do not have excel yet and do not really need internet explorer when using the keypad, I want to see if I can use those keys to launch something else by changing what the hotkeys trigger.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just built myself a new HTPC using windows 7 and based on a ASUS M4A78-VM mobo. I installed windows using a normal monitor via VGA and everything was fine however when I moved the HTPC to my TV a Sony KDL-40V4000 and tried to connect via HDMI the BIOS screen came up, then Windows starting screen, then nothing the TV lost the signal.
Am I missing some simple settings somewhere?
