i know the general solution to the problem "uninstall Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery" and all but like an idiot.i uninstalled mine in safe mode = its not showing up again like it would once you scan for hardware changes I need a way to get my Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery back because now I have TWO problems.. 1, still won't charge.. and 2, I cannot see the battery icon or enable it and don't have my Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
I recently got a new HP laptop with Windows 7 pro installed. When the battery is 95-99% it does not charge. It say PLUGGED in NOT CHARGING.I got replacement laptop and that also have same issue. I tried with new AC adaptor and same issue. I uninstall Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery and same issue. Googled as well and tried but nonthing seems to be working. Plugged in, not charging on HP Business Notebook plugged in not charging after Win 7 install, I contacted HP again and they said that some issue might be with system board.I took 10 days to transfer data to this laptop with all s/w.
2 days ago my battery stoped charging it says "plugged in not charging" i took the battery out to work with the ac adapter, but my laptop runs very slow now!
I've got a problem, my battery wont charge.I used to get this, but re installing ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery would normally solve this problem. Now after i remove ac, the laptop shuts down. I also got a screen once that saying my battery can now store less. When I click on the battery icon, it says plugged in and not charging.
I fixed the "plugged in not charging" problem very easily. Unplug your laptop, remove the battery, hold down the "Start" button for 30 seconds. I put it back together and it worked. The guy at Alienware support told me that static builds up inside the computer. I did what he said and the problem was over
I have a peculiar problem with my laptop, The battery indicator shows, "Plugged in, Not Charging" even though the power supply is there and the percentage remains at a particular level.

Yesterday I had a Dell service onsite service technician come to my house to work on my computer. He replaced my palm rest, keyboard, touchpad and mousebuttons, and my WLAN card (had a V key missing, left mouse button was not working, and was having issues with high-bandwidth internet connectivity). Since he replaced these, my computer has stopped being able to charge. Unfortunately I did not notice this until after he left. My warranty expired August 23rd and I opened the previous warranty service before it expired.
So far I have flashed my bios, deleted and redownloaded the driver for the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery in the Device Manager, shut off my computer without the battery and wiggled the charging jack to check whether it was a connection issue, and I have used an identical charger to the one I have. None of these have caused any change.
I re-formatted my laptop today, and now the battery icon says "Plugged in, not charging" for most of the time. If I remove the battery/powersupply/reinstall driver it works for a minute or so, then goes back to this.Pretty sure it's software related, as this happened exactly after a windows re-install.
My laptop has had this problem for a while now but I've never bothered to do anything about it. Even though it's plugged in it says 5% plugged in, not charging. It was at 10% a week ago but now it's dwindled down to 5%
I have a 3 month old Del XPS 15z,I charged the battery and used it till it was drained I plugged in the AC adapter and i noticed as soon as i plug it in the little green light on the adopter goes off and the battery wont charge,my battery is drained and i can noteven turn the laptop on,does anyone know what i should do ? any one from Dell ?By the way i tried the AC adopter with another laptop and it works,so it should be OK.
I have a laptop Presario B1200, I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate. The problem of Battery charging had start from here. It works directly. If I plugged it out directly, the laptop get off without proper shut down.
I have just purchased a new battery for my Fujitsu Amilo pi 3660 notebook.
I have tried so many times to charge it. I have fuilly discharged it and recharged it. I have installed and reinstalled drivers. No matter what I do, it stops charging at exactly 45%.
I know the battery is sound and the problem is a software issue. Does anyone know how to change this cap on the battery. BTW The new battery has slightly, (very) more capacity. This has not been a problem in other laptops, but this Fujitsu certainly caps the charge at 45%
Yesterday I encountered a problem. My Dell laptop not charging. But is showing in notification area charger plug in but not charging. I check my battery heath from bios. It's showing battery health normal. But adapter type showing as a unknown. I am confused If my adapter is going to dead, then why it is showing "plug in" in notification area
Where do I go to change the setting so I can charge a USB device through a USB port while my computer is sleeping or off? I have a gateway DX4860 with Windows 7. My Toshiba laptop had a popup that came up and asked if I wanted to change the setting to allow charging when asleep. I haven't gotten that on the PC and can't find it in the control panel.
I have had problems once or twice with my battery, but not for a long time. I installed Windows 7 a couple of days ago and twice today my battery stopped charging even though it was plugged in. The first time it said it was plugged in but not charging. The second time it said nothing. Both times, I rebooted and it resumed charging.
Yesterday I was trying to skype but my head phones were not working. So after plugging them in all of a sudden a loud screeching noise came from the laptop.
When Laptop is plugged in charging: I can only hear sound when the volume is very low. When I turn up the volume loud screeching noise goes off
When Laptop is not plugged in: Sound works on loud and everything works
