View 9 Repliesmy daughter pressed a couple of keys earlier and now my laptop keyboard isnt working properly. It is really strage because a few keys are working but not in thier usual function. My partner logged out so now i am sat at a login screen and cant key in a password. The on screen keyboard is behaving the same way which is very odd! Any suggestions? I have only had it 3 weeks and have had no problems it's been great. My mrs said she was trying to type in a website and windows kept popping up when she typed, and then she logged out.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to use the onscreen keyboard. There are a lot of articles that just explain how to start it, but not how to use it.I know how to access it. And it works when I enter letters in the search box of my browser. However, that's all it does. When I use it with a word processor, the keys do not respond. Strange. Also, when i click on alt+(number) on the numeric pad (which works perfect on a regular keyboard), it does not work at all. Don't get me wrong: it's not that I want to type a whole document with it. It should work, but it does not.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have the icon pinned to my taskbar, and normally the way I use it is I click on the icon in the taskbar when I want the osk to pop up so that I can use it. When I'm finished with it, I click on the minimize button and it returns to its spot in the status bar and stays there until I click on it again. Now, *normally* when I pass my mouse pointer over the icon, just a thumbnail of the osk will appear. But lately when my mouse pointer simply passes over the icon, the osk will pop up and appear on my screen in full size, and I need to minimize it to put it back onto the taskbar. This is very inconvenient because every time I bring my mouse pointer down to the status bar to choose an icon, I inadvertently pass over the osk icon with my mouse pointer which causes it to pop up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI just installed Windows 7 and its great! But my laptop no longer shows onscreen commands (such as Fn+sound up/down, brightness up/down etc).
I have downloaded all the drivers from my laptop manufacturers website (Samsung).
I am running Windows 7 32bit.
Any website I try to go to, an alert pops up saying that it contains viruses and it recommends that I download "Win 7 Home Security" or something like it. Alerts also pop up telling me of spyware and other things my computer are being attacked by, and it again prompts me to purchase "Win 7 Home Security" I'm pretty sure this Win 7 thing is a virus. My friend told me he had it before and that he had to wipe his PC clean. Maybe I need to do that, but I don't know how. Do I need to wipe my PC completely clean? How would I go about doing that?

My Dell Vostro desktop (actually, at my church) is great, runs Windows 7 like a dream. But I have noticed that occasionally (not every time, but enough to be really annoying) a cmd window pops up during login. After entering the user password and before the desktop appears. It is labeled C:dellDBRMReminderTrayApp.exe. There is nothing else in the window. After about 30 seconds, it disappears and the computer boots normally. No other problems.

View 7 Replies View Relatedi have a focusrite saffire pro 24 sound card that has been tested on windows xp (with a relatively old system : intel core 2 duo, 2gb ram etc) and it works perfectly fine.
i bought a new pc a few weeks ago (intel i5 -750 @ 2.66 ghz, 4gb ram) and i have installed windows 7 professional 32-bit on it. the sound card works with firewire (6-pin, no ac power needed). i have installed the latest update for windows 7, for the drivers of the sound card. it has been recognized and everything about it's connectivity is -almost- fine, but when i play a simple Internet video or a song on windows media player, it's highly possible that the sound will click or pop.i e-mailed the company and for now they think it's a resource/conflict issue and they suggest that i optimize my os, such as enabling dma access to all ide channels, minimizing the use of cpu for visual enhancement (such as aero etc) and even shutting down my antivirus software and the windows firewall. also they asked from me to run a test for latency and send them back the results.
When I go to insert a picture in a certain program the "picture services" window pops up. I go to choose the "icon size" for my photos and it will not remember the selection, "medium icons" for the size of my photos in the selection window. It always reverts back to "large icons". I can only see 2 pictures at a time with "large icons" instead of 8 with "medium icons". No matter which option I choose to view my pictures it always reverts back to "large icons".
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis problem occurs on both of my desktop and laptop. The only similarity of these two is the OS so I am kinda sure this is a problem caused only in Windows 7 RC.When I was using Windows XP the system and game and sound run fine. However, after I switched the OS of both machines to Windows 7 RC, I realized that the sound pops very often and also drops game performance (Ex. WoW). This problem never occured in Win XP.I am pretty sure there is nothing to do with my sound card driver too because this problem doesn't only happen when I am using the onboard sound card but also Logitech USB Headset.Sound seems fine under normal usage, but it pops A LOT when I play games. The music and effects pop very often and drop the game performance a lot which causes the game almost unplayable. FPS drops when sound pops. So I am here assuming this problem occurs only when CPU usage remains high.

Fresh install of 7 ulti 64 as of 4 hours ago. full optimizations have been done. using the latest version of firefox with its web cache of 50mb put on a ram drive. some times when i go to a website it will load all the test with no formatting or images. so everything is to the left side of the page and in a jumbled mess like you see on a phone with no real web browser. if i hit F5 it will then load the page normally instantly. also from time to time it will say it cant find the page, then a F5 will bring it right up. i know its not a network issue as all my other programs are staying connected. also Firefox has been locking up on me, ill have only 10 or 13 tabs open and go to click something or close a tab and the whole browser locks for up to 30 seconds then it pops back. nothing else on the system freezes.
