View 2 RepliesI have an emachines em355 netbook with a Windows 7 professional in it. My webcam doesn't seem to work. I mean, it's working but i need a third-party application(Skype, webcam browser app like Neave) in order to use it. The device manager says it's installed and works just fine. How can i access my webcam directly? I saw other laptops and they have this webcam icon when you open My Computer. Mine doesn't have any. Also, I installed every available/recommended/compatible driver, each was installed perfectly but still, no direct access to webcam.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently bought an infrared webcam [generic] from China. Cheap and easy. Turns out that it "encountered an error" when I installed the driver. Before I bought it, I didn't know that it was for 32-bit Windows (they failed to inform me). Is there a way to emulate a 32-bit application on a 64-bit system??? Or a way I can fool the driver to make it work? Or even tamper with it to do so? And, if that won't work; does that mean that the device only works on 32-bit system and would never operate on a 64-bit one? I tried the webcam and driver on a 32-bit laptop and it worked fine. So they device isn't faulty.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then my WiFi stops working, and if I go to dev mgr, the General tab tells me that "No drivers are installed for this device" for device status. On the other tabs, however, I have all the details on the installed driver, and if I ask Windows to update the driver, it tells me that the best driver is already installed. The problem is solved by rebooting, but I find that annoying. I'd like to figure out WHY it does that. I've saved earlier versions of that particular driver from over the last three years, and the problem occurs with all of the drivers. This is a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system. The driver is an Intel driver; the one installed at this moment (it just happened again, and I have not rebooted, since I had a powerline enet outlet handy), and the version of the Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 AGN is 14.3.1. I have other versions of that driver saved, from 13.2.1.5 to 15.1.1_Ds64. I had reverted to the 14.3.1 because the more recent versions seemed to be worse about the driver disabling itself or whatever it is doing.Coincidentally with this, the event viewer shows that mmc.exe was terminated because it was hanging. I had just run sfc yesterday, and there are no corrupt files that Windows cannot fix, and there weren't even any corrupt files that it DID fix.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and now my built in webcam no longer works. I have a Toshiba Satellite L510-016. I am unsure of the webcam model itself as no information seems to pop up for it anywhere on my computer. I have tried installing drivers with no success.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm new here. I bought my eMachines ET1331 desktop with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit a year ago. However, three months ago these lag-spikes started. I've been told by many that re-installing original network drivers can fix this problem. And, it makes sense, as these lag-spikes never occurred for just shy of a year. Is there a way to re-install a pre-installed driver without the CD? If not, is there a way to identify my pre-installed driver and download off the Internet?

I have tried multiple options, but still no sound. I can hear a clicking sound every once in awhile (might be when a windows sound comes on). Also when I touch the mute and vloume up I can hear the clicking. I am stuck and out of options.Showing sound driver is Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221.Also 2 Base System Devices and 1 Coprocessor drivers are not letting me add drivers to them either, but I only care about the sound right now.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have spent over 6 hours on my own trying various BIOS settings and what not, but cannot figure this thing out.I used to have an old HP build with "market" RAM and GPU and SSD.
Recently got an eVGA motherboard, and new GPU, and when I install Win7 Pro thru my installation disc, it says 'select the driver to be installed'. So, I put all the eVGA motherboard drivers and SATA drivers on a thumb drive, hooked it up to the back of my computer, tried to install from the drivers available, and then it said that the hardware was not detected on my machine...
Then I tried my wife's Win7 disc, thinking that my disc was corrupted. Same BS. I am so frustrated.I have tried loading my SSD both as IDE and AHCI, and same issue.
point me in the right direction??? I don't mind wiping my drives, I just want to use my damn computer.
mobo: eVGA FTW Z77
cpu: Intel 3770 3.5 GHZ i7
gpu: evGA 2GB 680 GTX
SSDs: Both Intel 840s

Oh, and, EVGA was useless when I called their support team. So was Microsoft.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed Windows 7 64 Bit 6 days ago and Im still trying to find a solution to my nvidia drivers. I have a dell xps 1730 with nvidia's 8800 GTX SLI. I have been reading several forums and posts and Ive done just about everything theyve said to do and still no luck.
Here's the scoop, so I have downloaded 186.03_notebook_win7_64bit_international_whql from the nvidia site and 18172_win7x64 from nvision along with the modded inf file. Have installed both as described on both sites.
Ok, this portion happens with the nvidia site driver. It installs just fine the restart where the issues begin. Once it reboots and begins to load Windows 7 it freezes up the goes back to the bios and on to where it asks to do the starup repair thing or start window normal. So Ill hit start normal, same thing will happen. I choose to fix then I proceed to install all over again. Again, reboot same thing, I choose star normal and this time it goes to the screen where you see the cursor and it says welcome then suddenly crashes.
Now for the nvision site driver. Install is same both ways. Restart, goes thru bios now on this driver it hits the Windows 7 and immediately gives BSOD. So I reboot, again same thing. Once more only this time it goes thru and Im able to get into Windows 7 like nothing. Ok great, well not really. No nvidia panel, so I adjust the resolution go into driver manager to check the status and it says that it not working because it needs a restart, ok so I restart. Again BSOD over and over.
After every attempt I have to fall back to a previous restore point and still have had no luck.
Am I getting the wrong drivers? Is there something Im missing? Could it be just a Windows 7 issue?
I'm operating on a desktop intel dq35j0 and clean installed window 7 ultimate.
in device manager two errors appeared
pci serial port driver not installed ( code28)
simple communications controller driver not installed (code 28)
checked hardware id's in device manager as follows
pcven_8086&dev_29b7&subsys_4f4a8086&rev_02 for serial port driver
and the same hardware id for the simple com controller
Ive tried to search these drivers on intel site but get lost as to wher I may find these drivers.
the same issue is a problem on two other pc's after cleaninstall of win 7
1.) is an hp dx2000 nt
here the network controller driver has not installed
the hardware id is
pciven_0675&dev_1702&subsys_6692&rev_00
2.) is a hp pavillion dv6 (1125ei) notebook
here an "unknown device" driver not loaded
the hardware id is
acpihpq004 (double zero fout and not thriple zero four).
