No Email Program Associated To Perform Requested Action
Nov 3, 2012
I am trying to send my work to my teacher from my laptop but every single time a pop-up comes on my screen saying,"There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.install an email program,or if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
I was infiltrated by a virus , have my pc back up and running after trying everything I have been suggested to do , then finally combofix got it cleared up. however my security flag flashes off for a split sec, then back to on. had eset and malwarebytes. can't run sfc scan get "Windows Protection could not perform the requested operation".
In the beginning of the year I got the infamous malware that infected many PC's worldwide (can't remember the name) and got my action center completely destroyed. I eventually fixed it, by adding the Security Center service that was gone, but one issue still remains: the action center system tray icon is greyed out, and impossible to turn back on!
I searched online, and the most common solution I've found was to run the sfc /scannow command. So I did, and for some reason it stops at 69% and after about a minute stuck at that number it says: "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation" I tried multiple times, but the same error happens every time. How can I fix this error, without re-installing the OS? Or is this only solved that way?
I was cleaning up my laptop when I ran into this weird issue. I can't delete the folder no mather what I try. Even when I login as the administrator I can't delete. I tried taking ownership of the folder but it don't work. The folder is nothing special. It is one I have created and there used to be an mp3 inside. However, I can't even open the folder...
Here is my system information:
Windows 7 Home Premium Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600 X86-based PC Notebook: Acer Aspire 7530system.txt
Have a problem moving files from my laptop to my desktop. They are on a Homegroup, both running Win 7. When I try copying files from my laptop to my desktop, and I initiate this on the laptop, I get an error saying "Destination folder access denied. You need permission to perform this action" But if I initiate the same file copy from my desktop, then it works fine.
every SINGLE TIME i try to move a folder around, i get "this action can not be done because the file is open in another program".i've shut down EVERY PROGRAM AND SERVICE except explorer and STILL get the same thing!this is my biggest beef with Win7 and would do anything to get around it.
From time to time when I click to perform an action I receive a notice in a window named "Server Busy". When I click on "Switch to" it goes to the start window, so I do not know which program to activate and correct the problem what ever it is. This is the message:This action cannot be completed because the other program is busy. Choose "switch to" to activate the busy program and correct the problem. There are 3 buttons "Switch To" "Retry" "Cancel"When I check the properties of the message it seems to be connected to IE. I am having a problem with IE9 that I have posted on this forum. The answers I continue to get from the forum are for problems listed in the forum at least 2 years ago.
I'm getting this message when I try to transfer folder to another location on my hard drive."The action cannot be completed because the folder or a file in it is open in another program."The problem is I don't know what program has the folder open. How do I find out which program it is so I can close it and move the folder to another location?
HATE Windows Live. Simply hate it. I liked Vista's Windows Mail because you could edit forward emails and get rid of all the junk on the left side. What's another option for Email?
The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log for more detail.this meant nothing to me. Hopefully someone can point me in an easy direction. I am trying to open my Windows Messenger when I receive this message
often I encounter on the internet the invitation "Contact me" However, when I try I receive a message saying an email program has not been set up so I cannot go any further. How do I set up such a program
I just had my HP dv5 laptop (2 years old) updated with Windows 7 from Vista Premium. Like everyone else I have no email and lost, it looks like, many emails on the old server. When I see all the answers about changing files, and .dll. and .exe, and all that I am more lost than ever. I don't know all this stuff and I'm really bothered that Microsoft came out with this mess.
Can anybody recommend a good & compatible mail client for Win 7. I absolutely hate Windows Live Mail. I'm assuming Outlook or Outlook Express won't work.
Every time I go to set someone up with a live mail account and use their in existing email address the wretched program will not accept the address they already have and keeps requesting that it has to be set up as a hotmail one. If I ask it to use their own address it comes with some rubbish aboout being in anaothe domain or something. Am absolutely sick of this program why in the name of reason cannot the damn thing just accept the persons existing address. I mean no one wants to start letting everyone else a new address to send to them especially if they have a lot of contacts. I set my own up so what is the go with it now and this one and only feature makes cleaning up someones machine a nightmare.
