I have created WAY too many subfolders in one of my folders, and want to re-organize those pictures.I would like to empty all the subfolders I have and start again, creating just a few, bigger subfolders.
How can I do this without copying them all to the main folder and then go back and errase the ones I just copied? Is there a less time comsuming way?
I am a Proffessional Photographer who sent my Vista Computer in to be fixed and was called and told they were going to replace it with a new Windows 7. I take hundreds of pictures and its really important to me to be able to re-organize them within the same folder in the order I need and then rename them within that folder. I have found threads with info on downloading and making the windows allow you to do this, and have tried for hours. I'm either doing something wrong, or its not working. I have the newest version of home premium and maybe that's the problem. My computer is a Toshiba Satellite L775-S7352.
I need to split a folder containing several levels of subfolders into dvdr sizes for backup. I would like to retain not only the folder name but subfolders names.
Ex. C:PicturesSummer is 7gb and i would like to split it into C:folder1picturessummer and C:folder2my picturessummer
Any one know of a util? RAR/ZIP is an option but I would really like viewable access to the files on any disc. The folder I need to split is quite large 70GB.
I imported my photos from my SDCard to my PC using Picasa 3, and everything was going smoothly... until I tried to take a look at the photos! all of the photos that I've imported using this method for some reason all became greyed out! Viewing them on Picasa3, all you can see is a grey rectangle, in place of the photos. However, when using the windows explorer folder, i can see that the photos were imported correctly (it's not just a grey box, but the actual photos), but when I try to open it (using any program: Paint, Picasa3, etc), it is still a grey rectangle instead of the photos. I tried to upload the image and send it via email, and I get the same result. In my mistake, I chose to "delete the uploaded photos after uploading" option..it's my vacation photos from Croatia I'm not sure if there were any errors when I imported it... i stepped out for a bit while I was waiting for it to import. I looked around my SD card, and looked at the "Lost.dir" folder, and copied all of what's in there.I did use Glarysoft to recover the images, and I'm using a Windows 7 laptop as my computer. Also, are there other alternatives? I did save the lost.dir with all of the photo files in it, both in my SD Card, and on my laptop.
Win 7 Freecell "sticks" The cards don't move when you try to move them. If you keep trying you get the message "freecell is not responding" or "problem with freecell executable". Could this have anything to do with a recent Norton upgrade? I have tried turning windows games on and off and it doesn't help. If so, where can I get a clean reinstall?
The frustration has been for more than 2 years now. I tried to move the photo folders & files from "My Pictures" to "Pictures" but Window's geniouses did not give us that option. I do not need to click to "My Pictures" since they are ALL MY pictures. So are we stuck with this decision or is there a way which I can get rid of 1 of the folders? Same with "Documents" & "Videos".
I'm running Windows 7. When I "right click, save" pics from the web, they oftentimes show up as a flat colored line. In the folder they've been saved in, the thumbnail looks normal, but when you open it, it's a mess. Or the picture is compressed to the point it no longer resembles the original photo.
I recently did a system restore on my laptop... HP 625. Windows 7.Then I logged in as normal and I've somehow lost the Personalise option on the desktop drop down menu.I can't even go into pictures and set a background. Also, the Windows 7 theme has completely disappeared and it's changed to a windows classic theme? I had to do the system restore because it wouldn't log in, even though the password was correct. It interrupts with the internet speed and looks plain freaking ugly.
I was having a problem on my laptop with Windows 7 not booting properly so I did a system restore of the windows files only using the Samsung software that came on the laptop. After that had completed, I can not see any text on web pages and even the Microsoft docs in office are messed up. I use Google Chrome for a browser and tried viewing web pages in IE but the same problem. I can not see any text in the dialog boxes either so to do a complete restore is next to impossible because I cannot read anything
I saved a bunch of pictures on a DVD and now I get only thismessage[.ShellClassInfo]LocalizedResourceName=@%SystemRoot%system32shell32.dll,-21815and all the folders are gone. Is there a way to retrieve them
how to edit pictures like in the commercial where the lady actually cuts out the head of her child and pastes in a new one. Any know how to do that? i just installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64bt on a new pc.
There are no specific details available but am wondering whether anyone knows why the following may happen -Photos are burnt onto a disk (ie photo1, photo2, photo3 etc), and when played back on the pc it shows them in that order. When the disk is inserted into a dvd player to display on the tv, the pictures seem to be shown in a random order.
I have two files I imported from my former computer and every .jpg & .png pictures are read only and therefore when I make changes and try to save them I am not allowed. I am using Windows 7 and have tried to change the properties but to no avail.
In XP, you could assign custom names to a group of photos when importing, but i can't seem to do that in 7. For instance i could tell it Name: "08.09.2009" and it would name each photo 08.09.2009 001, 08.09.2009 002, etc... Why would they make it so you can only label your photos a few ways. Any way to edit a system file to have more options show up?
i just salvaged my pictures from an accidently formatted hard drive, unfortunately most of them are corrupted. Here are some samples of how they look, and how they don't look.
Even though I did what soundguruman said to do , I still can't see my pictures, only a generic with the download (or whatever #)number. How can I change this back to seeing the actual picture so I know what I'm choosing without having to preview each one? I administer a FB page so I need to post a picture without having to preview it each time. I must have messed it up some how but I don't know how or what.
I just bought a DELL OPTILEX w/ Windows 7 Home edition.I click on PICTURES folder:And the pictures, as everyone knows, area displayed in thumbnails....well the thumbnails display the fax picture viewer logo on all ......NOT the actual picture. I only can see the actual picture when I double click on it and it does open the picture. But since for my job I need to select pictures to attach I need to be able to see the picture in the thumbnail. But I cant!I tried changing thumbnails size to all sizes and nothing. I tried going to My Computer, right click, properties, advance system setting, advance, settings, selecting ALL, selecting the correct one, deselecting all and still nothing. No way to display the pictures at all!
I've got an odd problem on my windows 7 desktop. I noticed 2 days ago that the profile picture on the login screen was missing, I honestly didn't think much of it.
Last night I went to open a jpg that was on my desktop and received an error that stated:
"windows photo viewer can't open this picture because the file appears to be damaged or corrupted or too large" I checked a few other pictures with various extensions (bmps, pngs) and they ALL give me the same error.
I tried opening the pictures with gimp and paint, no good. I even sent a jpg to my gmail to test if it was some really odd and random issue with my system. Gmail just gives me a red x when I go to view the attached picture.
I find it very hard to beleive that every single picture on my system has magically been corrupted over night. I've tried researching this issue on my own and to be honest, I'm just not really getting anywhere. The system seems to be stable otherwise.
