I've recently got windows 7. When you click on send a link it does not come underlined so it is not clickable I belong to diabetics daily and often I want to share a low carb recipe I've found but it too I can't make clickable. I've checked internet options and it says underline all links but it doesn't. How do I make my links clickable in windows 7 like they were in XP?
I have about twenty shortcuts on my desktop. Up until last week they all took me to where I wanted to go. As of yesterday they don't work. I click on a shortcut and nothing happens. The only thing different is that I placed the "Show the desktop" on my taskbar. The icons here do work. What paralyzed my regular desktop icons and how do I unparalyze them?
I can send links going to : "Page" > " Send link by email", but they are set in plain text and cannot be clicked by the receivor of the email to bring up the desred page.If I copy and paste the link on a new Windows Live Mail message it works just fine - the link is clickable. How can I get it to work the way it always has with outlook express and windows xp with ie8. and be able to send a hyper link from ie 9 without having to copy and paste it?
I am having trouble following links on web pages. sometimes I get to the page I need, but most of the time it doesn't work. I then have to copy and paste the shortcut address into the address bar at the top of the page. Have I got something set up wrong
My home network has six laptops and desktops connected. Over time some have been replaced, others had upgrades to Windows and some had Windows reinstalled. Now some of the devices have a load of printer links to printers or computers which no longer exist. Using the Devices and Printers does not allow the printers to be deleted. Microsoft at one time had a hot fix for this, but I can no longer find that.
definite fixes for the problem of compatibility between Windows 7 Professional and the D-Link WBR 1310 router? My brand new super-duper computer running Windows 7 won't recognize it as a viable means of getting on the internet. I am currently typing this on my Lenova laptop, XP Professional SP3, which runs fine wireless on the same router.Regardless of what I've tried (enter static IP addresses, opening up a new Broadband connection), the system won't recognize the router. The computer worked fine, and accessed the internet easily on my son's network (he put it together with the supervision of two of his techy friends).I am not technical enough to run diagnosis stuff, nor do I have the time to do so (in process of packing to move). Since I'm moving 300 miles away from my son, I'd like to get this fixed now, if it's something he has to do. If I just need to go out and buy a new router (even though I think this router is fine, and maybe Windows 7 needs to be more compatible to everything else out there), I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and do that.
My favorites folder doesn't work.I use to put things like my Homework folder. Now i have to click Computer / Media (I:) / Documents / School. That is a lot of clicks.Sure i can make a shortcut of the folder to my desktop but i am so used to using favorites. It contain desktop. Now everytime i want to save something to desktop i need to go to the top and type it out...before all i did was click. Long story short i relied on Favorites Folder.
Essentially, my Favorites folder is there. However in the navigation pane(the left side) the favorites folder doesn't show anything. Even when I try to add new locations to it " Add Current Location to Favorites". I also tried Restore Favorites link. This stop working after I deleted a whole bunch of folders.I recently had to do a system format. It was working but then i deleted a whole bunch of crap and shared files.Possible solutions:
1) System Image restore to a long time ago. Very time consuming. As my system image contains much more than just Windows. It contains my Media HDD/ Windows HDD/ Software HDD. decompressing and such...i dont want to this option
I recently purchased an HP Pavilion g7 laptop. It has Windows 7 and I have Internet Explorer 9. When I click on links in my emails it opens up a new tab, but does not open the actual web page. In addition some links on webpages don't work (for instance the Print link on Google Maps). My popup blocker is turned off. What do I have to do to get these links to work?
Yesterday, a neighbor asked me what to do because all the shortcuts on the desktop, as well as everything in the Start menu suddenly would launch only Windows Media Player. Every shortcut/link on the computer lead to WMP. In other words, no program, other than WMP, could be started. Yet, looking at the Properties of individual shortcuts, the path to the exe file was correct in every case. Every exe program in the Start menu as well as all desktop shortcuts displayed the WMP icon. Going to the Program Files folder and trying to launch directly from exe files resulted in the launch of WMP. Trying to use System Tools/System Restore, going through the Start menu had the same result - WMP launched. There had been no new installation, or other change made.We finally fixed it by going to the Control Panel which did, in fact, allow us to launch System Restore and we restored the system to four days earlier. Three or four minutes later, after reboot, everything was perfect, but it was pure luck - we still had/have no idea of what took place.
I have an Acer 5741 running W7, all ok until few days ago.Now disc seems to be always busy doing something, and all actions slower and the busy rotating circle is often displayed.Control Panel opens but most CP links do not now respond eg View devices, uninstall a program. Some applications briefly open (via their desktop shortcut) but then their window auto closes and they disappear, eg Open Office, firefox, IE8, Fastone (with mssg has stopped working), Advanced System Care (ditto), FinePix (ditto). These appns do not appear in Task Manager either. Have tried access via wifi and direct connect but same results and even tried Firefox in Safe mode.Other appns are still however ok eg Adobe, Avast, Task Mgr, Crap Cleaner, Threatfire, Free Commander, Photocopier, Windows Defender.I have rolled back W7 to before when problem started but no improvement. It seems to me that its a W7 problem rather than the appns
When I get messages from someone sending from outlook with a link inside the message, it doesn't show up as a link in my email, and I cannot click on it and open it. I am using windows live mail on a 64 bit windows 7 computer.
I am running Windows 7 and gmail on a Toshiba C655-S5540 Laptop. When I log on to a page and try to link to an external link, or try to link to an external link off my email, all I get is an empty link.

When I try to open a web hyperlink in my Outlook 2003 mail, I get a pop up saying it is "denied due to security settings on this computer." I can open hyperlinks in Hot Mail just fine. I have Windows 7. I have tried to change all my security settings but nothing will allow me to open links in Outlook mail. I started having this problem after I upgraded from XP to Windows 7.
I have two hdds (500gb 7200rpm) in my laptop and have 260gb of data on the second one. I wanted to create a partition for games at the beggining of the 2nd drive (the left side) as i heard it increased performance to put games in anoher drive and at the beggining of the drive. Will it make difference to make a partition at the beginning or at the end of this drive when it comes to gaming performance? My cousin showed me one game in the same drive installed in the 1st of four partitions of a 500gb 7200rpm (the same i have) performing with 3-5 fps more than that game installed in the 4th partition of that same drive....
I have a Dell Inspiron laptop which came with Windows Home Premium already installed. The only problem I have is that I am unable to access some links on certain web pages. I can look at photos, get contact names and various other information, but some links just don't work, even though they are on the same page.
I am using windows 7 and when I open a web site and then try to open a link within that site all I get is a tab that is blank and has a question mark on it. It doesn't do this for all links but it does for most of them.
I've been having trouble opening links from one webpage to another. If while browsing I come across a link and click it, it just opens a blank page. At times I have to refresh the adress bar of the newly opened tab to get what I want and at other times it doesn't wrk at all.
This has affected my browsing much that I dont feel like using IE anymore but I do like IE.
W7 Home Premium+SP1; AVG 2012; Adaware 9.0.7; SpyBot 1.6.2. Firefox 7.0.1; (I.E. 9 - not often used). Broadband connection ethernet - Yacom.I installed the Firefox on 30.9.2011 I installed the latest AVG 2012 on 10.10. 2011 I am not sure if it is because of or coincidently, but my internet browsing has been seriously affected. This has been happening for a few (? 3,4 )days, but has worsened since the installation of the new AVG.Where I would previously have put a subject into the browser, and the page appeared with a choice of links, a click on one of them would have immediately taken me to that link. Now, I have to wait for sometimes 25 to 30 seconds to get to the link and even not be allowed to go to the link - it won't open.I have deleted and re-installed my Firefox and my AVG, but this still happens. My security scans are done weekly with each programme but on different days - no two scans are done on the same day. At present, there is nothing untoward evident in my computer, an AVG scan was done last evening - 10.10.2011 only cookies were detected.
