Computer It Loaded In 20 Seconds, Now It Takes Half An Hour?
Feb 11, 2011At this point i knew exactly what had gone wrong and had a major panic attack, i thought i had lost all my precious files, which i had no backup of. Then i remembered when i first got the computer i had to burn something called Acer eRecovery manager to 3 CDs. I then loaded the CD via the Boot Menu, and from there chose to restore my system but still retain user data (rather than restore to factory settings). the 2 and a half hour procedure, i found that all of my documents had been saved. I immedietly rushed to the store and bought a external hard drive and backed up all of my documents.
Now, moving on to the problem. Well it actually a very easy problem to describe. My new computer is now 50x slower than what it used to be, and im not even exaggerating. When i first got the Computer it loaded in 20 seconds, now it takes half an hour. Before this happened, when i used to click on internet explorer it came up instantly, now when i click on it it takes a minute or so. The problem is that i literally just bought this computer, and it cost me alot of money. It worked brilliantly fast when i first got it, now after this my old laptop is even better than it.[CODE]
Recurring BSOD Just After Login Or Within First Half Hour Of Usage
Feb 1, 2012My 2 year old HP DV3610ae Laptop keeps giving me a BSOD. It's a Core2Duo T6400 2.0 Ghz with 4Gb DDR2 Ram. Usually its a IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, but I have seen other errors and some times it just restarts without BSOD and no memorydump is then generated. It is usually just after login, but lately the BSOD is coming within the first half hour. I have done a clean install with Windows 7 Enterprise and the problem is still there.
I have done memtest and prime95 for several hours with no problem in fail safe mode. Also no problem with chkdsk. Fail safe mode never crashes, only normal login. Have removed DVD drive. Still BSOD. There is no new hardware installed. Have had "gcswf32.dll stopped working" fault in safemode and normal mode when running chrome browser. Only windows defender and firewall is installed.

Nov 22, 2012I downloaded an old game that I wanted to play again it finished downloading I installed it. Though it didn't install in the folder I wanted it to so I uninstalled it and started the installation again. Went through the process and put in the correct pathing D: program files (x86) it selected and smart highlighted program files x86 for me so i hit enter and the installer thought I was finished with the pathing when I was not and it went ahead and installed the game to that path.So once again I uninstalled the game and this time ... it uninstalled everything within "Program Files (x86) from A to L before I realized what was happening .. I quickly ctrl shift esc'd and canceled that process for the uninstaller and now alot of items are missing so many I don't even know what is gone.Unfortunately I do not enable system restore on any of my drives because I know malware can hide in there and some people recommend to keep it off.is there any way without using system

Jan 26, 2011I am having an issue getting my microphone working. I used to have the logitech USB mic about a year ago and that worked great, then one day it stopped working. I tried fixing it for a while but couldn't figure it out, so I gave up on it. The mic was not the problem because it worked perfectly fine on other computers. Recently a came across another brand USB mic so I decided I would give that a try also, this just doesn't work either.The problem is that when I plug it in, it recognizes and installs the drivers (USB Audio Device). When I go into recording on sound options, it shows the mic there as the default device. Now when I click it, the levels tab is just blank. Also I cannot make any changes to the microphone such as "Listen to this device" etc, none of the options will stick. If I go into windows sound recording for example, it will tell me "An audio recording device cannot be found". To troubleshoot this issue, I uninstalled the USB port it is plugged into, tried it again. I tried this with multiple ports front and back. I then tried uninstalling USB Audio Device drivers, then when I plug the mic in, it installs everything again. It does it all successfully, no errors, but then it doesn't give me a working mic.I made a video demonstrating the problem.

But only half of the icons can be seen,the other half disappears. Mar 7, 2012I came home and set up a dual monitor for my computer, mainly so I can still do things on the 2nd monitor whilst playing a game. Half way through trying to figure out how I could get things where I wanted them my left ALT key decided to stop allowing me to alt+tab. If I hold it down it gives me the little window that allows me to switch between my programs, but it won't actually go to them it just stays stuck on that selector. Makes no sense to me due to if the ALT key was dead I wouldn't be able to get half way through alt+tabbing correct?Anyways, it also stopped working as my push-to-talk on my Teamspeak 3 Client. Again, thought maybe the key was bad BUT it still works as a push-to-talk on my Mumble client.

Half Images From Thumbnails?
Jul 2, 2012Suddenly, I am getting half greyed out images when I click on a thumbnail. Had 25 out of 67 on a card I just uploaded and thought it was a corrupted card but just tried to open an image from several months ago and the same thing happened - only get the top half of the image. Not always half, might only be a third.

Sep 1, 2009i have had windows 7 64bit version installed for a couple months on my pc, and these 2 days it's kept rebooting. it goes off (no shut down message, it all happens all of a sudden), and after a second or 2 the machine boots up again. before loading the os the pc prompts me to choose if i want to start windows normally. i press enter and windows starts up with no problems at all. when a system error occurs, after rebooting it usually notifies me that the system was recovered from an error. but it displays no message.
now, my question is this. i heard that before the coming out of the windows seven final version, microsoft would have you install an update that reboots your machine every 2 hrs to "suggest" people buying the os... how kind of them, really... whatever, is this possibly the case? if this is, i guess i gonna downgrade to windows vista till i can buy windows 7.

When I got into windows 7 for the first time, everything was as expected (only a couple of incompatible programs but nbd). My desktops icons were all still there and like I mentioned most of my programs were still running just fine. Then, late at night when I was fooling around with some files (either deleting stuff or trying to update drivers or something) I noticed my desktop refreshed and came back with nearly half the icons it had before. When I searched for those programs that the deleted icons executed, they were still in my computer but some of there icons had been changed to the windows default one, which sorta looks like a page with the top right corner bent in and a little M$ Window opened.

Dec 29, 2012So in the past week, my computer has started freezing. After about an hour of use, the screen will freeze. Sound will still play for a while and the mouse still moves. But other than that, it completely freezes.
Ctl+alt+del doesn't do anything and I have to manually shut it down.
Sometimes if it sits for a while and I don't mess with anything it will black screen and tell me to insert bootable media.
My computer is only about a year old and I put it together myself. I have an 64 GB SSD with Windows 7 intel i5 2500k 3.3ghz CPU 8 GB of RAM EVGA GTX 570
My graphics drivers are up to date. My registry seems in order. I have no virus' showing up under my scans. My PSU doesn't seem to be overheating. Memory test in my BIOS shows fine My case has plenty of airflow HD tune pro doesn't show any bad sectors And I've cleaned up with CCleaner

May 6, 2012I've been lately having some problems with my Alienware m15x gaming laptop. It used to work like a dream and all the games worked very well too. But now I've been expreriencing low fps (5-20) while it used to be 60-80, and the overall performance has been low too. This starts after about 1 hour of playing. I'm pretty sure it started after using wrong power adapter for 2 weeks. Now I'm using the correct one. I can't remember if I had the problem with the wrong adapter but I think it started after switching back to the normal. I've run virus scans (malwarebytes whole computer scan and flash scan, and whole computer scan with Avast) and they haven't found anything.
