View 4 RepliesI've had this issue for a few days now. Any game I play or any movie I watch, if its on full screen, it will lose focus or minimize to desktop within 1-2 minutes. There are no error messages, and I can't find a single thing to help me. Yesterday, I downloaded a registry cleaner, and after it cleaned the errors, I could use full screen apps very well. Then I shut my computer down for the night, and when I woke up today, and started the computer, the problem started as well. [code]

But the problem is, the left headphone is the only one I can hear out of when fully plugged in(when playing audio or video)

I've had my dv7 for nearly two years, and it has worked well the entire time. Recently within the last month, when preforming normal tasks like browsing the web or watching videos, the CPU usage would spike to 100% and stay there, rendering the computer useless. Every time this happens I would shut it down and wait a full day. This allowed for about 15 minutes of smooth running time before another spike.I have run CCleaner, two full system scans using Norton 360 to no avail, updated all BIOS, cleaned out the fan and heatsink, and checked the power settings to see if the processor had been changed to use a minimum 100%.
Computer specs:
Processor: Intel i5 M 460 @ 2.53 GHz
RAM: 4GB
OS: Windows 7 64Bit
Gfx: HD Radeon 5650 (integrated)
I have tried every guide and tip on the Internet to try and get my stupid speakers to work on my laptop. I installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and have everything working on it except for the sound. I have no sound what so ever and when ever I try to click on the little speaker on the bottom right corner, a window pops up talking about troubleshooting. I am at my wits end with this stupid machine.
Please help. Any solutions?
I just upgraded from Vista on my HP Pavilion a6150e desktop. Everything works well except sound. I've been reading threads and trying several things, including:
1. Updating driver
2. Deleting driver and letting Windows 7 configure
3. Visiting RealTek and trying downloads (refers me to HP)
4. Visiting HP (nothing found there)
Device manager states everything is working in sound. However, there is no multimedia audio controller driver, and Windows 7 can't find one. I don't know if this is related to the other.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion model number p7-1154 pc. I have tried almost everything to get it to work. System restore, re-installing, clean install, and everything else of drivers and codecs. Nothing works. No virus did this. Everything is brand new on the PC. Was working fine for over a week. I had Kaspersky anti-virus. Then suddenly it said the license for it was missing when it went to update... I tried re-install of it but.. it would not let me. Tried uninstalling and kept getting errors. So I used a tool from the Kaspersky site to remove it. Then installed AVG. Since then.. no sound. Please, someone help me with this issue.. I do not know why this happened..... The computer is literally brand new. In the playback devices.... It says I am getting sound but, no sound is going in the speakers.. In the "playback" for sound settings it shows in the little bar that sound is being played, but I get no sound.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 with Windows 7 and have noticed the sound when using headphones it quite low. The same headphones playing the same sound on an older computer turned up all the way is extremely loud, but on this one, you can sometimes barely hear it. Even when using desktop speakers, turned up all the way, playing something in VLC media player with that sound up 400%, it is still sometimes hard to hear, and pretty much any video online, which I can't turn up to 400%, is too low to hear very well. Is this an issue with the sound card? Is there any way to amplify it?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a peculiar problem that seems to be related to Remote Desktop Connection in Windows 7.
I connect to my Windows 7 Enterprise x64 RTM box using a Remote Desktop Connection.
When I return to the console session (I log on to the computer when I' in front of it again), the sound crackles and stutters and the mouse is jerky and non-responsive when I browse the Internet in Internet Explorer (or Firfox).
If I log off, or reboot, the problem goes away.
This problem occurs in any music player (in Windows Media Player, or Winamp), and it seems unrelated to the sound card, because I tried two different USB sound cards and heard the same problem. The problem occurs with any mouse also.
Here's what I've tried:
Installed the latest Realtek drivers a scan from PCPitstop indicates the drivers are up-to-date no change in the problem.
Tried disabling the NVIDIA Hi-def components in Device Manager no change in the problem.
Tried using 2 different external sound cards the problem is the same with any sound card or device.
Installed the Codec lite pack no change in the problem.
As per http://www.intel.com/technology/serialata/ahci.htm, I tried setting the Msahci value from 3 to 0 no change in the problem.
Disabled speaker effects (enhancements) no change in the problem.
Reset the BIOS to the factory default settings no change in the problem.
Tried using different apps to play music the problem occurs in all programs.
Ran Hijack this to make sure nothing questionable is running.
use Shell Ex View (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/shexview.html) and disable all the "Groove" extensions.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just bought my student copy of Windows 7 now and its coming up on time to install it. The question is this:
I have my OS on a seperate drive from everything else, so is there a way I can reformat and install the release copy of the OS onto the OS drive so that all of my other programs will still work (registry and appdata folder stuff intact I mean), without ending up with a seriously unstable OS because I've reintroduced registry entries and other faults from the old OS?
Please let me know if this is possible, and also if I've made my request clear enough.
My system is continuously losing space, down to the last megabyte, even without using it. I've tried deleting all but my last system restore point, and even so, that only uses up 15% so I'm told. I've deleted all unnecessary programs down to the bare essential stuff, I've cleared internet history/cookies often, I've deleted gig after gig of my music until it was gone, and I have virus protection software that hasn't brought up anything major. It's not going away in chunks, just megabytes at a time. I've done everything online I can find, and nothing stopped it, what's happening here?
