In both Mozilla Firefox and Window's Explorer, when I download ANYTHING by right-clicking-save-file-as, it won't allow me to.In Mozilla Firefox the little window will kick open and instead of downloading automatically, it says canceled right away. I double click on it and it appears to download. I wait for it to download and when it's done, the file is not there, and cannot open it.First I thought it was the site, so I checked another site, and same thing. Then I tried in Explorer:There I got an error message that says, "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded."YESTERDAY, this wasn't an issue, and I made no changes to any security settings. Today, I can't download anything.
I know I'm gonna need Java. Were do I download Active X since I need it to download the drivers (I go to the companies site and it will scan for me, custom install).

I was given an HP 3100 Pavilion Slimline that originally had Vista. Now it doesn't have any OS loaded. When I try to load XP or 7 I get a message <Windows root> system32.dll. File missing or corrupt. Reload this file and try loading Windows again. I don't have much history on this computer but I was told XP was loaded to replace Vista but lacked the proper Network Drivers. My question is, where can I get the dll download and how do I load it on the computer without an OS?

This is my first post/thread on TH.Anyways, I Just recently bought a laptop for HS, about half a month old. Everything Ran fine , Until My computer decided to not work anymore.
I did a system restore from a repair disk and fixed, the only catch, norton reinstalled. I had uninstalled norton and when I did a system restore, the program probably sent it's server a "scam" alert as the program didn't respond after, So I had to uninstall it manually, removing the files and all the registry entres. Now, week later, I notice that my computer is downloading EPICALLY slow. My speed is 11mbs, on my alternate computer, it will download a 11 mb file in less then a second, but on the laptop, 25 minutes? No way is that possible.
I did some registry scans, with wisecare 365, fixed the registry and download time has come down to 13 seconds, which is still crazy long,
I just purchased a SYX Mid-Tower ATX Computer from Tiger Direct and it has the capability to run the Windows XP mode and the Virtual Mode. I have an OEM Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS.My problem is that I only a dial-up internet connection, the XP mode file alone is > 500Mb in size. I calculated I would have to tie up the phone line for over a day and I only have one line.Is there a way to get the files on my work computer, which has a T1 line. However it is running Vista not Windows 7.I live 40 miles from my home computer to my work computer. and is a real pain to go all this distance. Microsoft is paranoid as usual. They forget that not everyone has a fast internet connection at home, or can even get one, especially in the country.I can not fathom that one can not get a CD/DVD that can check if your OS is a real one and not a fake ,along with a copy on the needed files. I have validated my computer at home.
i need internet explorer 8 in order to work with sharepoint sites but i have ie9 so i need to download ie8 but cant seem to find the right version for windows 7

I was just wondering if I am able to take windows home basic off a store bought computer and put it on another computer. The reason for this is I am currently building my own and want to avoid unnecessary cost. As I own a laptop that I will no longer be using and a retail copy(windows home premium). So can I take the windows off my old laptop and put it on the computer?
