May 16, 2009I'm looking for a soundcard driver for my older Audigy SB 1394, using Win 7 Build 7100. I was able to get the sound working using Build 7000, but have been unsuccessful with the latest Win 7 Beta.
I think I've tried five or six drivers, and none have worked.
It doesn't appear that Win 7 is even recognizing that I have a soundcard, which could be the real problem. I tried moving the card to a different slot and running a hardware search, but nothing has worked.

Pages on the web offering advice on this kind of problems start their solutions with going to the device manager and expanding the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" node in the device tree. Only I don't have such a node. How can I get the "IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers" node to appear in the device manager?

Oct 12, 2011I'm trying to connect my SONY HVR-HD1000U camera to my PC. I'm running Windows 7 and it doesn't recognize camera at all. Conversly I could imagine that there is somewhere an analyze tool which shows this info to the user.

Dec 24, 2009I have a new (replacement for a failed drive) Hitachi 500GB HDD that I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit on (full install disk). I have Win XP 32 on drive D: of another drive and want to dual boot. I used PMagic to partition the new drive into 2 250 GB partitions, the first as C: drive, active and primary---formatted NTFS. Thinking I would install on that partition.
When I run install on Windows 7 64 I get to the window where you can select upgrade or custom and I select custom install and select the c: drive. I then get a cannot find a system drive error message. I went bak and removed the partitions thinking maybe it would work on unallocated drive space same error message. I deleted the partition inside Windows 7 from the same screen and formated it there too and still get the same message. Diagnostics show that the drive is good. What am I doing wrong?

The driver is supposed to be plug'n'play, so there's no CD and I can't find it online. I don't know how the installation has worked at all without the driver, but I seemingly can't get past this point without pointing Windows to a driver.
