View 11 RepliesI have a wireless printer installed and am running my laptop with Windows 7. Everytime I reboot the laptop, it fails to find the printer and marks it as offline. Sometimes I can restore it by deleting and then re-adding the printer from the control panel. The printer is a new HP wireless model, and I have installed the driver successfully, I should not have to re-install this everytime. Is this a Windows 7 issue

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am running WIN7 64 Bit, BT wireless hub. Have added a laptop (also running WIN7 64 bit) to home network and set up HP Photosmart Premium 309g printer as 'wireless'. It works a treat with the laptop but my desktop computer tells me the printer is off line.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI had a Dell MFP1600n laser printer given to me a while back (Praise the Lord) & it came at the right time as I was destitute then & couldn't afford cartridges for a Canon I960.Here's the rub. There was no problem connecting & using the printer with a wired connection to a Linksys WRT54GS & a wired XP Desktop & a wireless XP Desktop (both older 86X systems).Though the 64 bit, wireless, Windows 7 laptop connected through the same router to the internet. As usual, it would not & still does not "see the XP machines". It also would not, through multiple configurations, connect to this printer. At first I tried to update the driver, but Dell only had XP 32 bit available. After hours & days of wasted time with "Add printer", I resorted to using a flash drive for the few times I needed to print something from this infernal Windows 7 machine.
I finally wondered if my head was stuck in the "soon to be obsolete, XP mode".'know, this isn't the first time Microsoft has Pi**ed me off & I understand that we are all "beta testing" a product that we have paid several hundred dollars for. I also understand the reason for security, but I don't want to spend 50% or better of my time trying to use an OS that cannot tell ME from a scumbag intruder. There are AV programs for that...As it came installed on my laptop (& of course I received no restore or install disks whatsoever with it), I'm stuck with trying to repair, rather than reformat. Unless I wish to pi** away a bunch more money to Microsoft.
how do i connect my dell computer (T5400) to my hp printer (wireless) hp photosmart printer. without the original disk that it came with. we have updated the computer and run the latest version of windows fyi. also the printer is about two years old.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy operating system is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I recently bought a new laptop (not a Dell) and so wanted to link this up and synchronize it with my Dell 305w all in one Wireless printer so it prints and scans wirelessly. I put in the CD that came with the printer and I downloaded the most recent driver (or so I thought). Anyway, after all that was done it prints wirelessly no problem. The trouble came when I wanted to scan a document from the Dell Imaging Toolbox. On my old laptop (that is a Dell) and my daughter's laptop (that is a Samsung,) this works wirelessly no problem at all from the Dell Imaging Toolbox.
On this new laptop, it doesn't scan wirelessly although it does print wirelessly. Every time I tried, first a message came up giving me a choice of two printers to use yet only one is showing in Devices and Printers in the control panel. So I chose one. (This message never came up before on my other laptop and I never had a choice). After choosing one, I then chose 'scan' and then 'start' from the Dell Imaging Toolbox. This then brought up another message that was titled, 'Network Scan.' 'For best results when scanning over the network:
- Save all your work.
- Close Dell Imaging Toolbox.
- Press the Scan button on your printer's operator panel.
I need to have it working wirelessly from a remote spot as it did with my previous laptop because I am disabled. How to rectify this scenario? What am I doing that is stopping this from scanning wirelessly? On top of that also related to the printer, every time I boot up the laptop, a message appears saying, 'Microsoft.NET Framework Version 2.0 is required to continue. This software is available for free at - Microsoft website address.' I've gone to the website and downloaded this twice but the error message still keeps coming up every time I boot.
