Windows 7 Isn't Compatible With Canon MF4100 Printer
May 24, 2012I own a Canon printer series MF 4100, however, it isn't compatible with my laptop, which is Windows 7 64 bit. When I plug in the USB connector, I can't install the printer since there is no sign of a USB connecting with my laptop. When I tried to print something, the name of the printer is absent on the list even when I connected it. The problem is, it used to work on my laptop, despite it being Windows 7 64 bit. That was until I reinstall win7 a few days ago, and this happened.

I mounted a Vista x64 ISO-image/source, extracted the folder with the canon printer drivers and installed the Colorpass Z40e driver under Windows 7 x64. In my case I used this driver für a Canon Colorpass Z400e (Canon CLC 1100).
Extraxct :
- use 7zip
- under options check "wim"
- open the install.wim an verify your vista version (important if there is a 64bit and 32 bit version on the same DVD, in my case there was only a 64bit on the systembuilder DVD)
- choose the right folder and extract the canon printer driver folder with 7zip
windowssystem32driverstorefilerepositoryprnca001.inf_c505b61f
that is it .
