Cannot Open The File Because COMDLG32.dll Is Missing
Sep 1, 2012
Whenever I open various files and programs like paint, a status box appears saying I cannot open the file because COMDLG32.dll is missing. How do I reinstall it?My computer is windows 7.
While installing MP3 Cutter we have got an error saying "Component 'Comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid".
I have a small network of six computers. Five of them run XP and I just added a Windows 7 machine. I've got a Microsoft Access 2003 database that all of the computers share that is hosted on one of the XP machines. The Windows 7 machine can access the Access database through the network just fine, as long as no one else is accessing it. However, if someone else on an XP machine on the network is using the file, it won't open on the Windows 7 machine. Doubling clicking the file on Windows 7 gives me the circling blue icon for a second or two, then nothing happens. If the XP user exits the database, then I can open it fine.
Whenever i take a file and put it onto the my desktop, all the permissions to the file is completely stripped. Leaving none able to open the file.I am able to go into access control and add myself again, but it makes no sense at all..
I had an unusual happening on my PC. First noticed some instability while trying to open a file from Explorer, could not scroll down to file and it was jittery. Then, every time I tried to enter on an input line, an endless string of zeros were input and I could not overide or erase. Even on Email addressees. I tried a reboot and the zeros appeared on the start up password line and I could not logon. Same thing after complete power cycle. I suspected a stuck key on the keyboard and tried a different keyboard but no help. So I tried a complete restore. At first, it seemed to have the same problem, but somehow, eventually, I got logged on and now everything seems OK. But I don't really know what caused this and fear it could happen again.
if i go to the start button to go to my computer the window will open on the first try , but say i try to go to my computer again it will just sit there and not open. the exployer window will open but not the contents inside.does not care how many times i try it will only open the window and show nothing inside , a bar will go across the top to show progress but still it will not open.if i restart the computer i can open up the my computer or just computer in W7.like right now i tried to open up the window to check my hard drive and im still waiting for it to open.this goes on on both of my computers running windows 7.all coms are updated to the fullest and im not overclocking or doing anything other normal stuff. So is there a bug or somthing that im missing , once again if i go to start , and hit computer the window will open on the first try , but if i do it to many times it will just open a window and just sit there.even further if i open it up and try to open a file it will just hang there and not open , there is no error warning or nothing.

I'm on a network where I keep my files but I'm very aware of whether or not these might be open elsewhere. From time to time at any old time of the day (randomly it seems in other words) I'll go in and try to arrange, rename, or get rid of files and I'll get "The action can't be completed because the file is open in Windows Explorer. Close file and try again". Except that the file ISN'T open anywhere.
I just got a new Samsung RC420 laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium edition OS. When I was installing a software last night, a message pops up and tells me I cannot continue installation until I close a certain program (in this case it was Adobe Updater, which was not opened at all).Today, I am trying to open "my briefcase" from a USB thumb, but a message pops up telling me I cannot open "my briefcase" as it appears a file in it is already open. But nothing else is open on my computer. It was my first time opening anything from the USB thumb.
I'm having a problem trying to open and extract files from a .rar file. When I click on it I get a pop-up message that says, "Installer Name param is missing" whatever the heck that means.
I want to switch my graphic (I have dual graphic one is intel and one is ATI mobility Radeon), I click okay to switch to power saving graphic intel, and so the screen blacks out. I tried burning a win7 ultimate iso to a DVD and try boot from there but it says no OS system found. My computer is HP touchsmart with switchable graphic, HP has a recovery partition that can restore my computer but I don't know how to access it now. My original system is win 7 home premium 64x, but all I have at my disposal is a copy of win 7 ultimate 64x.Some specs of my computer: HP touchsmart with switchable graphic, intel i5 and ATI mobility Only has one OS: Windows 7 Home premium 64x Has HP recovery partition, and 300GB of other space.have this InsydeH20 Setup Utility Rev. 3.5 and currently all I can do is do some random scans.. Primary hard disk self test, and then memory test, I don't expect to see any problems since I have this done with in the HP system recovery environment.
Recently a popup box has started to appear when I logon that informs me that file nuneco.dll is missing/can't be found. I have not noticed any programs being affected but its just really annoying I also want to try and fix this before anything detrimental does happen as I use this system for my business. I don't remember doing anything major or installing anything before this started happening which is why I am hving trouble locating the cause of the problem.Any suggestions? Be gentle although I am not exctly a novice I am not a tech head either so if his can be fixed please provide clear instructions[CODE]
I work at an attorneys office and we subpoenaed a surveillance video from a local gas station. They sent us a CD with a file titled "viewer.bat", but I'm not sure what to do with it.
When I try to open it I receive the error message "viewer.bat not a valid Win32 application". I'm also not sure how a .bat has anything to do with a video file (unfortunately I have no experience with .bat files).
There are is also a folder on the CD called "disstech" and it has three folders in it called "bin", "dis" and "log". What am I working with here?
OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Service Pack 1, 64 bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz, Intel64 Family 6 Model 42 Stepping 7
I tried to open a simple pdf file in Windows Live Mail but this super Windows 7 says there is no program associated to open it? It says to go the default programs section. So I did but even though I have Adobe Reader #10 installed it, of course, is not on the list of programs. Then, there is nothing to click on to add a program.
I'm running FireFox 4 and keep getting a "you have chosen to open" window that pops up as if I've download a PDF file and FireFox is asking if I want to open it or save it.The file is a manual I downloaded about a year ago from www.golfbuddyglobal.com and have since deleted.
I just installed windows 7 on a brand new system and was wondering how the hell I open the .bkf file that I made while backing up my data on windows xp?
Yesterday I was installing a number of fonts on my Windows 7 machine. I had installed 5 or 6 of them without incident, and then on the 7th just as I clicked "install", I got a BSOD with something about a memory error. I assumed it was just a one time hiccup so I restarted and attempted to install the font again, with the exact same results. I figured the font was somehow corrupt so I deleted the file from my desktop and looked in the Windows font folder to see if I needed to remove it but found no trace of the offending font. I next attempted to launch Photoshop CS5 and got a crash dialog before it ever launched. This behavior is currently continuous and I can't get PS to load at all. Illustrator however doesn't seem to have any problems and launches without incident. Also, if I try to access Windows Device Manager, I now get an error "MMC cannot open the file C:Windowssystem32devmgmt.msc".
iertutil.dll seems to be missing and I guess I can download it but all the places I look, seems like they want to do one of those FREE DOWNLOAD scan things that doesn't get you anywhere except now you got some crap on your system. Is there some source to get this stuff without the accompanying garbage?
im having a problem on flv video files on my video library. This all started when I run tuneup gain disk space it may have been deleted some file that something to do with thumbnail preview on flv files. Now flv files has no thumbnail preview...the player i use to play flv files is VLC.
I started up my computer around an hour ago and found the following message; "The file system32/hal.dll is missing or corrupt.re-install the file." So, at a loss as I'm not a Tech-person in any yway, I turned to the internet and found, after several XP posts, some to do with Windows 7. I'm on 64-bit, and have tried inserting my installation disk as well as the system repair.I've looked at this, but seeing as I'm Windows 7 & not XP I can't see why it would work; Error Message: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt I'm following another Microsoft guide that asked to me run a command in a command prompt, Bootrec.exe which in turn gave me 4 options, only I'm not sure which option to choose.
I received an email with an attachment showing as a pps extension, which is Power Point. Win Live Mail cannot open it. When I go to the file association panel, I have 3 extensions listed, to use Power Point Viewer (I do not have Office), but .pps is not one of the 3 listed ones. How do I add .pps to that list?
