I would like the "VAIO Update" utility for my VGN-FE21M which is now runnin W7. Sony supports only Vista as far as I can see.Without the util I can no longer use the "S buttons" and control the built-in mousepad.

i've been having a problem with my keyboard in PC games , i'm using windows 7.. it's all going fine during the gameplay all button are working fine .. but in the control setting menu or whenever a tip shows up buttons are undefined .. see the photo to know what i mean.hat's from "max payne3" .. the game is working well and all buttons are working as they should but as you can see they are undefined in the controls menu or whenever a tip shows up -although they actually are working- , note that this only happens with the letter keys the numbers and "ctrl,alt,shift" are just fine..also note that i've tried in other games and still the same problem , I've also tried another keyboard and still the same issue.

View 5 Replies View Relatedi want to capture audio input from Internet. i cannot do so without also capturing ambient sound in the room, because the built-in mic captures and records the ambient sounds. if i disable the built-in mic, the audio capture software doesn't work. is it possible to mute the internal mic without disabling the sound card entirely?
View 4 Replies View Relatedi noticed that my PC had been using a lot of the SSD for information i felt should be saved on the HD. i read some forms and someone said that the C:USERS folder can simply be dragged to the HD so that everything is saved there. so i copied it onto my other HD and renamed it USERS2. unfortunately i noticed that this didnt and doesnt work and for some reason the USERS folder on my SSD has gotten renamed to USERS2 as well and the Catalyst Control Center application no longer works... i dont know how to fix it and im afraid that i might dig myself further into this mess.

I disabled it by going to control panel, clicking on mouse and disable something called 'elan'. (sorry, not computer literate LOL) . Anyway, since the hardware change, this elan option is not there. View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently reinstalled Windows 7 on my laptop. Prior to formatting, the mouse was working PERFECTLY. After formatting, the mouse is acting much differently. I am using the Synaptics software just as I was before I reinstalled Windows 7, and the mouse pad is MUCH more sensitive than it used to be when my palm hits it. If I type anything in the QWERTY row, my palm never fails to tap the mousepad and it screws everything up (you know how it goes).
I've gone into the Synaptics settings and changed palm check sensitivity and everything else on there that I think would help, and nothing does.
My Samsung laptop's mousepad is so sensitive that I can just barely brush against it and it takes me to who-knows-where, and it's extremely aggravating. I can't find anywhere in the mouse settings to adjust the mousepad - just the mouse pointer and hardware.
View 9 Replies View RelatedOk so I recently moved from vista to windows 7 and everything is great except that about 40% of the time when I restart my computer, the mousepad and video card drivers don't load up. The mousepad stops responding and the resolution goes to 800x600. When I look in device manager those two drivers say they failed to initialize and need a restart, I will post the exact error messages soon. Then when I restart everything runs fine. But this consistently happens, I believe it happens everytime I install something new and then restart. I can't figure out how to stop this from happening, anyone know what to do?

New Laptop. Win7 64 ie9 has no min max or X buttons on the top right. Is this a new feature... Checked options, can`t download ie9 as my version is newer. ie8 not compatible. Should I remove ie9, then how can I access the net to reload

When doing this I can use either Nvidia's controls or windows controls (right click desktop>Nvidia Control Panel. When using Nvidia's Control Panel, there are two choices: Use other applications control color settings or Use Nvidia settings. Am I correct in assuming that the former setting is Windows? I always check the button to use Nvidia settings (and then Apply>OK), but when I go back to this screen at a later time, the Other applications control color settings is always selected. I'd like to default to Nvidia.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Computer has worked awesome for months.Now all of a sudden after it sits for awhile.(Like 15 mins +)It wont let me click on any windows 7 buttons. Cant click on icons in the quick launch area.Cant click the buttons to close an open window.Yet I can click on desktop icons.Only way to get it to let me click again is hit CTRL + Alt + Del When the window pops up with the options I can hit cancel and I can click on these things again.

I went to HP and downloaded the Vista 32 bit drivers hoping they would work on Windows 7 but they dont, at least not by simply installing them.

Is there a way to assign keys for wmp ie play/pause, next track/prev track. i ask as its a feature i got used to with my previous Microsoft keyboard that had built in wmp buttons. annoyingly my f5-f8 buttons have play /pause stop fw back on them but don't operate wmp not sure why they are labeled. my keyboard is a wireless Hewlett Packard KG-0851

It does still work properly though- Left SHIFT key still works but when i press it.....it also creates this symbol ~ at the same time within UK keyboard. The first time I read that it could be solved through Windows features. So I turned it off and hell broke loose. I had to do a complete reinstall. I won't try this again.
So I have a complete new installation, but the buttons seem to have disappeared after tens windows updates that I applied.

I just real;ized that when it is in full screen the buttons are back.... normal behaviour?
On my laptop the F5 and F6 buttons only change the sound level of about 2% with the Fn button each time. I would much prefer it if each time I pressed it it would change by about 10%. Is there a way to change how much effect the buttons make.

A handy utility called USB Overdrive lets me map all of the mouse's buttons (there are like 11) to keys on the keyboard.I tried using the mouse's native Windows software to do the same in Windows 7, but find no option to map mouse buttons to keys. So I'm looking for something simple that mimics what USB Overdrive can do.I tried a utility called X-Mouse, but it doesn't recognize all the mouse buttons.Are there any other utilities I could look at?

In any browser.... they didn't work in the previous versions before i updated both Firefox and Chrome.As far as security software that I'm using, I've tried disabling all of it, and still have the same issues. Those programs are: Spybot S&D, AVG Free, Comodo firewall.Here's a good example of a java thing on a site that won't work for me.Covers.com has a login / password thing in the top right corner of their main page. I punch in my name and password, and neither hitting enter nor clicking on the Login link do anything. But I am experiencing this type of issue on many other sites. I can get on my laptop and go to the same sites and I have no issues, so it's something to do with this OS. Unfortunately, my laptop charger was lost so that's not an option. Plus, I'd really like to be able to use my tower for everything I do on the web.

Some of my keys don't work very well at all, and some work only sporadically. The keys I'm talking about aren't any of the input keys for typing or anything, but rather the keys to adjust volume, brightness, screen width, etc. I'm not sure why the keys stopped working, but if someone could help with that would be awesome.I am also having trouble with my fingerprint scanner stopping working. (It is) Anyhow, in my scurry to remove the watermark I somehow probably changed a setting that has rendered my Min, max & close buttons useless. I am also not able to drag windows. When I open certain MMC documents, including device manager, I receive a notification stating "Unable to create new document." I have tried restoring my system to no avail. I have done so with my av & firewall down too, as well as from safe mode. I have run multiple virus scans & my system is clean!

Everything worked fine till 1 hour ago or something like that. Then everytime i press the left button it will "left button-click" AND "right button-click" and it actually does the same with the right button.
I have tried to see if the settings have been messed up, but no. Everything is normal. I have tried changing the usage of each button - like changing the right button assignemt to do a "down arrow" instead of a "special click", but then it just does a "left button-click" and the "down arrow"...
I have tried uninstalling the driver, updating the driver, rebooting the computer, changing the settings, used windows recovery...
I really don't know what to do. When I plug in a USB mouse, that works fine. No problems there. It is just the touchpad buttons...
