Any Way To Change Default Log On And Boot Up Screen?
Dec 2, 2011
I own Windows 7 Enterprise N, and was wondering, is there any way to change the defaut log on and boot up screen? Everything from when it boots from off to on basically? I have seen stuff on wincustomize.com but the boot screen software is not supported by windows 7 and I'm not sure if the logon screen software is free or buggy even.
I use the same software to try to change it back and it wont let me, is there a way to get it back, I used logon controller to change, logon controller has an option to put the default logon screen back but it doesn't seem to work at all, please help.
my sister has macular degeneration and has trouble with the glare of her monitor. i want to be able to make the default screen color grey instead of white in all programs. is that possible? For example, i was able to make the screen color grey in Word and the font black so that it opens that way everytime. but that is only one program. i would like to be able to do this so that everything works that way.
When the logon screen appears, the admin account 'A' is selcted by default i.e. a border surrounding the username, everytime I've to manually select my account and enter password.
I just want my account 'S' to be highlighted by default when the logon screen appears. And no, i don't want to use the automatic login option. Just what I mentioned above.
I had Windows XP Pro running on my PC and I've installed Windows 7 using dual-boot.I want to create a command line BAT file that will allow me to change the default OS system before I boot. For example If I'm working on XP and wants 7 to start-up automatically then I'll execute the batch file and it will manipulate the boot info so that i won't have to select it, and if i work in Windos 7 and want to automatically restart to xp i will run another BAT file.I was able to do it in windows 7 using the command line bcdedit.exe application tha can control any aspect of the boot settings, but i couldn't find anyway to control the boot settings from within XP because the boot "belongs" to windows 7 and XP doesn't even "know it" or able to access it.
However I have a third-party application able to do that called VISTABOOTPRO, so i can assume it is indeed possible, but i want to create a simple one-click procedure to do it for me.
On my Windows 7 at the bottom left it shows:Test Mode,Windows 7,Build 9780,Also I changed the boot screen but I can't now change it back to the default, I tried using the command prompt but didn't work.
My Windows 7 came with a minimal boot screen that only shows bars going across (like XP but without logo). I opened msconfig to see if the No GUI boot was selected, but it wasn't. I tried change the boot screen with Win7BootUpdater, but that didn't work, either.
Does anyone know if it is possible (will be possible) to change the Win 7 boot screen?I have read that MS have built Win 7 so that the boot screen cannot be fiddled with, thus protecting the PC against changes more than earlier windows version have done
I don't know if this one can be done. I know how to turn off the ding sound it makes when my computer boots up but does anyone know how to change the boot screen animation? I would like to put one of my own animations on there instead of the windows logo popping up from 4 little lights.
I want to know whether or not it is possible to change the new windows 7 boot screen (like the flashy logo thing) to the old vista-style running green bar?I've looked on the internet but only found fixes that turns the vista-style running bar back to the flashy logo windows 7 boot screen...
In Windows 7, all the good icons are in %SystemRoot%system32imageres.dll, but we're still taken to the old SHELL32.dll when it comes time to change an icon.
Is there a registry key or something that we can change to remedy this?
I've noticed that the PC name is listed in those scans and would prefer. Can I change from my real name to something generic WITHOUT causing any problems with anything that's already been done in machine since set up?
I have a 64GB SSD drive that i installed windows 7 on to. That has no become the default drive for everything...like my documents, music, videos etc..how do i change that to my other 1TB hard disk instead? Currently my "libraries" in windows explorer all point to a location on the SSD.
I wonder how I change the default program for dvd's. Now, when I double-click the dvd in "Computer", Windows Media Player is started. I have powerdvd installed. In file associations it shows that .vob is linked to powerdvd. Is there a way so that when I doubleklick the dvd I want to play powerdvd is started.
I don't want to delete windows media player (I haven't found out yet how you do it yet).
I've been trying to find a way to change the default icon size in Windows 7. My machine defaults to 'small' icon size, but I prefer the 'large' one, in just about every case. Instead of needing to manually change the size for each individual folder, is there a way I can set 'large' to be the default for all folders? I couldn't find anything in the control panel and haven't been able to find anything about setting a default size yet.

I'm in charge of security and fixing problems on my grandma's two computers. She typically installs several hundreds of games on her computers. I would prefer her to install the games to "c:\program files\games" rather than "c:\program files" as that folder ends up getting so cluttered that I can't tell what's in there. Is there a way to change the default installation location from "c:\program files" to "c:\program files\games"? She's too lazy to change the location manually when she installs software, so it would be nice just to change the default location, but I'm not sure how to do that on Windows 7
Everytime i download something it goes directly to my hard drive :E and i want it to go to my C: and i have tryed the browser settings but it doesnt work I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit

currently my window folders sort by filename as the factory default. I know I can change this by right clicking on the white space and then choosing how I want my files to be displayed.however I have huge folders and then have to wait for explorer to reindex the files every time I close or open a folderHow do I change the default file sort from name to date? so that I don't have to do this every time.and others connected to it but they dont' seem to address my specific problem. I don't want to change icons or layout, simply the way files are organized when they are compiled.
I'm using Microsoft Office XP Professional. My default word processor is Notepad. Notepad is not the best one to use and I would like to change to Word.I need help making the change, becase I don't know the process to use to accomplish this.
I have Word Pad set as the default and want to change to Word. I tried to print a document and this notice appeared: Wordpad does not support all of the features of the doc's format. Some content may be missing ot displayer improperly.I checked control panel's Default Programs but Word's not listed.
