I haven't installed any new drivers/apps. I literally just clean installed the RC (build 7100) over a copy of XP Pro (the usual windows dual boot menu at start) and XP is still fine but when I log into win 7 it's slow as can be. incredibly slow is how I would describe it. Anyway the weird thing is the CPU usage and memory usage are low so I can't figure it out.
maybe it's disk usage but I can't even run any portable diagnostic software because it's so damn slow. Is there anything I can check. it must be something simple. And I'm sure somebody else has tried it on a GX520 business machine.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRunning Windows 7 Ultimate. When opening window it will fill the screen from top to bottom. The top is just fine, the bottom extends below the bottom of the screen and if there are buttons to click on you cannot see them. The only way I have been able to get around it is to change the screen resolution up to make everything smaller. This is ok but then circles turn into eggs, then it pops up screen is not set to optimal settings.
It came with Windows 7 starter all I did was upgrade to Ultimate so that should not be an issue.

View 1 Replies View RelatedRecently I upgraded my OS from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. With the upgrade my graphics drivers were also updated. The problem is that I'm unable to watch videos or listen to music after about 2 hours of usage. Basically when my computer is turned on it works fine but after a few hours of usage all my video programs crash. I have to continually restart my computer every few hours in order to watch videos and listen to music. I've been googling for about 2 hours to find a solution, no results thus far.I thought it was a registry issue at first and I used a registered version of Registry Easy but the problem was not solved.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've installed Windows 7 (32 bits) in my computer recently. The computer is a little bit old, here are the specs:
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz
2GB Ram
160 GB Hdd
NVidia Geforce FX5600 XT
I went to Nvidia's website in order to download the drivers for my graphics card but there are no drivers available for Windows 7 designed to my card. I've downloaded the latest drivers there (Forceware 96.85, compatible with Vista) and they work. However there are two problems. The first is that I notice some small delays when I'm working normally with the computer, using Aero. The second one is that I can't access nVidia's app that manages the card's options.
Config:
Hardware: Desktop
Intel i5-2310 sandybridge processor Gigabyte GA-H61M-DS2 ver. 2.2 Motherboard
Transcend 4GB 1333MHz RAM
No External Graphics
Software:
Dual Boot - Windows XP SP 2 x64 and Windows 7 Ultimate x64.m:
Everything is working great in XP. After installing video drivers in windows 7, the wizards asks for restart. When i restart windows 7 hangs just after the "starting windows" logo, just at the welcome screen. It is not random, everytime it freezes at the same point. The system hangs and the display is just horizontal garbage lines and I need to hard reset the CPU. Without the video drivers, windows 7 works fine.
Things I tried:
1. Drivers from Motherboard CD/DVD.
2. Drivers from Gigabyte Website.
3. Drivers from Intel Website.
4. Changed the SATA mode to AHCI/IDE in BIOS. XP wont boot in AHCI.
5. XP shows Intel 2000 processor graphics. CPUZ tool in windows 7 shows Intel 1000-T.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am building a new computer and have all the parts except for my video card (gtx 670 when it comes in stock...). Now, I have heard that I shouldn't do windows updates before installing the drivers for my video card. However, if I go ahead and set everything up except for my video card and let windows update do its thing - will there be any problems for me when I can finally buy my video card and install it?

Randomly (for example: while surfing the internet), on Windows 7, the computer crashes with a screen with blue and grey vertical stripes (or sometimes totally grey or black). Sometimes this screen "hides" a BSoD, sometimes it doesn't. The system crashes only if video drivers are installed. On Ubuntu 11.04 (64-bit) and Windows XP (32bit), even after installing the drivers, there are no crashes. From BlueScreenView, all crashes look identical.
I tried:
- 2 passes of Memtest86+: 0 issues
- Installing Windows 7 and then ONLY the video drivers: CRASH
- Installing XP 32-bit SP2 and the drivers: does not crash
- Using Ubuntu 11.04 64-bit: does not crash
- Uninstalling the drivers: does not crash
- Safe mode: does not crash (obviously)
I have ran into a new problem with my media player, I tried to play a movie from a tv series and the video plays great but absolutely no sound. I tried music and it won't play either. I did some little research and I keep coming across things about codecs, I don't know what codec I need for windows media 12. I also have divx player and it wont let out a sound either. I'm clueless from this point and also I have updated my drivers for just incase but no luck.
