I recently got a new computer from someone (not from a store), he said he reformatted the computer.I forgot to ask him if the window 7 is cracked or real or not.How do you know if window 7 home premium is real or not?Additional question.I was installing Window service pack 1 and after the update, it asked me to reset for additional update or something.I restarted and it says its updating 1 out of 2 and every 20 or 40% of update, my computer would just restart and continue installing where it left off. This continuous restarting happened at least 4 or 5 times. After that, it was finished and said welcome and I was finally get to log in.
well my first ques is; i purchased a new laptop from a store but i did not ask whether window is real or cracked..so how i should do to know whether it is cracked or real?
Running Windows 7 Home Preimum and was dealing with some nasty viruses / trojans. Downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials to delete them and reboot and it caused me to unable to boot into anything. Need some feedback / suggestions before I come to a final resolution to just reformat ... which I obviously want to avoid because I have nothing backed up. I've tried rebooting into safe mode and it just brings me back to a screen of 2 options. One to start windows normally or to start system recovery options. Of course "starting windows normally" doesn't work and I've tried everything on Startup Recovery Options. Startup Repair doesn't work, System Restore failed on the two and only previous restore points I have. I've ran a Windows Memory Diagnostic too and no hardware issues found
I have a HP Laptop that I need to replace the Hard Drive on. My question is when I replace the Hard Drive, Can I use the restore CD I create to start installing Windows 7 back onto the new Drive? Also would be possible to use a windows 7 restore CD from another Windows 7 home pc? in case I cannot create a windows restore cd on the laptop with the bad drive.
how to to install Windows 7 Home Premium on a brand new Crucial Real SSD c300 64bg drive? Is there anything special I should know or do? It will be installed on my first build.
I've been doing a lot of research on this and I know this topic has been covered a million times, so please bear with me. I'm specifically wondering about the "file-optimization" features in third party defraggers such as Diskeeper or Iobit Smart Defrag (which I use). I know that Microsoft has refined their own defragger, but it seems to me that it has no obvious file optimization and it of course does not have real-time defragging. I've been using Iobit Smart Defrag for a long time and it seems to do a good job of keeping my computer in shape. But, if the Windows 7 defrag works good enough, I'd prefer to just use that and get rid of Smart Defrag to free up CPU and RAM. I'd obviously lose out on the real-time scanning, file optimization, and the boot time scan that Iobit just added to their latest release. But, are these features really necessary for fast, clean performance of Windows 7? Or are these just gimics from third party companies to get me to purchase their software.
So I was searching around on softpedia when I ran into this program. It seemed like a nice choice for what I was looking. I downloaded it and installed it. After, I did a spybot scan and it found something like "chameleonman toolbar". I deleted it. Im not sure if it was this program or some other things because I did try other programs earlier. Is anyone able to test it out and confirm its safe and it actually makes a difference? I ran it and it seemed real enough. I also submitted the install file to virus total and it came out clean. Here is the site. Speed up your Windows
I was using Acer netbook to download drama at play at real player. But yeasterday I bought a new notobook sony, which is window 7, when I used my portable hardisk to play the movie, pop up message cannot read, what do have the match clip.
You know how when you make changes inside a folder or any directory under windows 7 using explorer, updates, new files downloaded, any changes will reflect in that folder listing/view instanteously, without you having to hit the "refesh" button on the address bar to see what changes took place in that folder. My problem is with the new Fantom Drive ext USB HDD I bought. Anything I do inside that drives folder hiearchy of files. Like downloading new files from firefox, or unraring a bunch of archives; all changes will not show until I go manually hit the folder refresh button every time. Why is that not automatic? Like it is with my main internal C Drive, and my other ext usb LaCie HDD.
I moved the Users folders from C: to D: one by one using the location tab from the folder properties ...When I finished surprisingly I found that the "Users" folder name became "Desktop" with its icon ... Although in reality it is not !!!! it still has the name Users but shows Desktop ... When I click the path it shows that
Using Remote Desktop I can connect my one Win7 machine to my other Win7 machine.
However I don't see my "real" desktop - by that I mean the remote machine spawns a sort of virtual desktop and shows me that - I can't run the graphic card control panel for instance - and if a monitor is plugged into the remote machine you just see the login screen not what I'm doing.
So is it possible to see the 'real' desktop using Microsoft Remote Desktop? Or do I have to find some other remote control software - like VNC or something like that.

I had to reinstall Win 7 today. I then installed BitDefender Free 2009 and when I discovered that there was no real time component, I uninstalled with Revo Uninstaller Pro. When I rebooted, nothing appeared on my screen. I checked the display by connecting it to me laptop and it is fine. How do I solve this?

I have been getting quite sporadic and random BSOD's over the past few weeks. The last piece of hardware I installed was 2x2gb sticks of ram which I installed in November 2011.The only real other hardware/software I installed recently was a Logitech webcam, which I uninstalled yesterday but still received an IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD this morning around ten minutes after powering up.I have received other BSOD errors such as :
I have the Blue Screen Viewer and all the errors point back to NTOSKRNL.exe with various addresses, so they don't tell me much.I have updated the drivers to everything I can think of. I have ran memtest for a long time on all four sticks and then each stick seperately and they passed without any issues.I also ran CHKDSK and that came back with no bad sectors etc.On certain BSOD or freezes, the pc will not want to boot back into Windows straight away. The fans power up, I can feel the HDD whirring, but I get no BEEP and no signal to the two screens I have.

The download tab says they're done downloading, but once I play them they are usually only 1/3 or half of the movie downloaded.

Running Windows 7, 64 bit. Using an AltoEdge converter. Have installed Windows 7 patch. Software is Golden Video. Video is OK, but sound goes on and off real fast. Sounds like a motor boat. Changed out cables, and unit 3 times. Each change resulted in the same effect. ReInstalled software twice. No change.
