I can be playing World of warcraft, or any game, and my System will freeze, totally lock and wont respond. But i noticed the other day, my router is also offline when this happens, are these connected? or is it just a fluke?
I have to unplug my pc in order to get it back on, and when its back, there is no problems reported by windows can this be related to malware?
I was browsing the internet on my firefox when suddenly the links that i opened up where not loading at all. All it had was a blank white screen. I restarted the firefox and the computer but it was still not working. The internet explorer was acting the same way. I tried several solutions such as clearing my cache, changing the proxy settings but it froze the windows 7 when doing so.
My anti-virus program that i brought (Trend Mirco) had expired 2 or 3 days ago. I'm not sure if i have a anti-virus, i just downloaded avg for free but when i try to scan the computer it freezes again.

Ok, So I have tried to run a antivirus scan in safe mode, but it stops half way. and tried to download a new antivirus, but also when I go to Safe Mode with networking, It still wont let me connect to internet. Its like when I run normal Mode, its just starting up in regular safe mode, and same thing when I run Safe Mode w/ networking
View 2 Replies View RelatedInstalled Win 7 on May 5. Seemed to work well. Started having problems with IE8 freezing when it opens. Sometimes I can ctl, alt, del and close it out, but more often I have to reboot. I also have firefox and it seems to work fine.
Has anyone else seen this problem?
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot?

My computer began freezing when I close the internet. Mouse moves but when I click on icon nothing happens. I can use ctrl,alt,del to bring up logon/off window. When I log off and back on I can regain use of all programs.I am running Windows 7,and using IE9,with 6 gig ram. I t seems to have slowly began when I uninstalled Firefox about 2 weeks ago. The computer freezes every second or two when I am connected to the wireless internet.; however, sometimes I can be connected to wireless and it works just fine. If I disconnect my wireless connection my computer works fine. My computer is running windows 7 professional and the wireless driver is up to date.

Sometimes when I'm on sevenforums and have multiple tabs open I'm going to another website using: addressbar, homepage butten, favorites. None of them work (sometimes) . Only that tab keeps loading and I have to click on X on tab (it says still busy).It happens about every 2 hours and then all sevenforum tabs are freezing.Click on a link insite sevenforums works however (if it is not already freezing).Did try to disable add-ons. Even started internet explorer without add-ons. Problem is still there.

My issue is that computer freezes when I browse the internet with Chrome, Firefox and Explorer. I can work with Explorer with one tab as of now - I can't open more than one because it freezes the entire computer in a minute or two after opening additional tabs. I have tried System Restore, Registry cleaner, defrag, anti virus scans Mbam scans etc but nothing works.
A few days ago I had shifted the computer to a warmer room and stupidly put the chassis next to an inverter which emits heat. I used to have freezes earlier but it was a rare occurrence maybe just 1-2 times a week - but yes it used to be there before. Opening many tabs as I wanted in chrome, firefox or explorer was never a problem earlier. I have the problem is only with internet browsing - playing videos, music, work on excel, ppt etc is no problem.
Every time I open outlook it begins to download mail but never completes task. At the same time it locks the internet connection and computer must be rebooted to get connection open again. If outlook never opened connection never shuts down. This is a new problem, 2 weeks ago. Virus Protection is Vipre. Already checked to see if excessively large email on server was causing issue but that is not the case.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy audio was working well, but i decided to start recording find a way to improve my outbound audio quality (i'm an audiophile). I purchased a Fast Track Pro. Unlike other threads I've read, I'm not seeing any BSOD and its not crackling. My operating system will just stop functioning, or freeze for a half a second at a time. This can become frequent at about 10 times in a thirty second period requiring a restart. I had installed the latest x64 driver for my W7 x64 system from M-audio's website.
I uninstalled the driver and restarted, the issue persisted. I then installed the on-board audio driver and restarted, no system lag is present. The audio device-driver is acting up and I'm not sure why. Because i bought it used M-audio's support is a no-go. Are there any additional steps I can take which may troubleshoot this issue?
I will try to be as descriptive as possible. I currently have GoWifi to access my internet (my room mate has it to)But for the past 4 days my computer has been running horribly slow. I can't use a enthernet cable becuase "Gowifi" is only wireless. I use google chrome most of the time, but the internet is slow on chrome and explorer. I have tried the "ipconfig /release then ipconfig /renew" method. I have also tried to Reset WINSOCK, Reset IPv4, Reset IPv6, and then restarted my computer but still did not do the trick. I have tried various things from forums on other sites and this site but it still is not doing the trick.Is there Anything you guys could tell me that could fix my problem? anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I can no longer upload files to the internet. When I try to Internet Explorer 9 crashes and restarts. The same thing happens when I right click on a picture on the internet and try to save it to my computer. The only changes to my computer was I upgraded the Norton Anti Virus software. I've reinstalled IE9 and same thing. I tried reinstalling Norton and same thing.

I am currently in Safe Mode and it seems like everything works fine .If I log out and try again to log in Windows I either get stuck in the welcome screen . View 2 Replies View Relatedso i just installed a LEGAL version of windows 7 HP x64 oem (i did have ultimate illegal for a few months) it was working fine for a week or so and then occasionally it would freeze 'desktop first and then a few seconds later the mouse would stop moving'.i can into safe mode without a problem that's how im posting this.when i had ultimate it worked fine and didn't freeze but i have upgraded the cpu and mobo.OLD asrock n68c ucc with phenom x3 720 be @2.8ghzNEWgigabyte ma-ga790xt ud4p with phenom x4 955 be @ 3.2ghzthe asrock only used a 4 pin cpu lead but the 790xt uses a 8pin cpu lead so i made a 4pin and 1molex to 8pin, i even had this when i had ultimate and didn't have a problem.a few things it could be ram or psui have 4gb ddr3 1333hz ram and 2gb ddr3 1060hz ram and i dono if that would be an issue as it hasn't before and the other could be a cheap psu alpine 550W and i have a 2 fans on a speed controller using 1 molex a temp gauge using another molex a another molex for a hdd (not an ssd) and 1 more for the CD-Rom DVD-Rom drive, im thinking its not psu issue because if it was it would freeze in safe mode and i have disabled all the start-up programs and still froze.
