I have just got a new computer and windows 7 home premium was installed by the technician. He said it was all set to go. However, when I got home and connected the computer it does not seem to be doing anything as if it is hanging in cyber somewhere.

It could be 1 min or 15 min after start up and does not look to be linked to any 1 program. when it happens the computer will slow down for a min then I just get the round circle icon and nothing works, I cant even do Ctr Alt Del. I have done AVG scan and Superantispyware and all was fine apart from tracking cookies. I have also taken most unused programs out of MSCONFIG startup and still no luck.I will try and run the SysInfo tool and Hijackthis on the computwer now and post the results (Im using a different computer to post this)When it starts to slow Task manager, if i have it open in time, shows nothing strange cpu between 0% and 20%

I reformatted my computer multiple times, yet my computer seems to BSOD randomly.What happenes is that everything becomes unresponsive; cant alt+tab, cant ctrl+alt+del etc etc. everything freezes randomly... then boom, BSOD. its happened twice, with no apparent pattern.And then, when it restarts, it tries booting but then it goes into the boot selection screen and my SSD is nowhere to be found. I have to power off then power on again for it to boot up and log in.

while installing 7 H.P. it gets to completing installation then freezes up after computer reboots a warning message appears stating windows 7 has failed to install and resume after reboot, and then the same warning message appears.
I tried the roll back installation option and a message flashes on and off to quickly to read.
and Vista will not come up to start over.
any Ideas on what to Do?
I successfully bought the upgrade version of Windows 7 Home Premium N, downloaded and extracted it and now I want to install it.
When I choose UPDATE in the intallation dialog it tells me that I cannot upgrade from Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium ???
Every website from Windows and other people tells me that it IS possible and even the Windows 7 Update Advisor told me that I should not encounter any problems upgrading.
Has anyone of you yet encountered upgrading problems of compatible Vista/7 versions?
Or any other idea what I can do to solve the problem?!
I know that I can make a clean intall of 7, but this would be a pain..
Yesterday I was messing around on my brand-new laptop, and I was stupid enough to try a keygen to get Ultimate (I had HP). Surprising. It worked but the copy wasn't genuine obviously. So then I rebooted, pressed F8 at boot. An ran Toshibas recovery to try to get the computer to its out of box state. I got stuck at initializomg (either that or I was impaptient) so I turned off the laptop. Then when I truer to boot I got bootmgr is missing. I have an old vista Hp disk so I installed that for the time being. So my question is, how do I get it back to the original state? I do t have any important data or anything.

9/21/11 Im finding ways how to make my gamepad work in my system because i want to use it in several games like batman arkham asylum, then i find a software called "driver signature enforcement overrider" and it was successful my gamepad starts to work with my games then lately after that i experienced hang in my games and application like adobe photoshop cs5 that I have to reboot my computer to be able to work again.. i wonder if this is because of the software that I downloaded or it is because of virus?? can somebody here help me??... and also i am experiencing BSOD lately when using the feature of ASUS mother board "Turbo Key".
View 1 Replies View RelatedEvery now and then, my computer BSODs, then restarts, but then it cannot boot into the drive that windows is installed in. It says that there is a broken windows installation and that I should use the Windows install disk to repair it. Thing is, I don't have a windows install disk because I'm using an .iso provided by my school.Anyway, after waiting some time or unplugging/plugging back the hard drive, it randomly successfully boots into windows again. I can't think of any reason why this would be...is this a software or hardware problem?My setup is Windows 7 on an SSD and Ubuntu on a standard hard disk, with Grub as my boot loader.I also looked in minidumps and there aren't any crash logs from when my computer BSOD'd, which is even weirder.

Ive downloaded countless driver programs which tell you what sound card you have and not one has detected it. IVE ALSO downloaded drivers for the Windows 7 version of my sound (Realtek AC97) and ran windows updates and NONE worked. ive ran the troubleshooter on the sound thing...STILL not detecting any sound card. i tried changing the audio in BIOS from auto - enabled....nothing.

I keep getting BlueScreen errors and the pc is restarting after I switched motherboards from a gigabyte p55-usb3 to a biostar t5xe cfx-sli. I kept all the same components except I added another gtx 470. Thermal paste was freshly applied all around, all the idle and load temps seem normal. 30c/50c cpu and 40c/85c gpu.
1. Installed Win 7 Prof 64 bit on freshly formatted hard drive
2. Installed Drivers from motherboard cd (Biostar T5XE CFX-SLI)
3. Ran Windows update for awhile, restarted a few times, installed other programs
4. While browsing the net the pc shutdown and gave me a prompt upon startup with a "problem event name: bluescreen"
It also gave me the locations of a dump and a system file which I have included in the Shutdown #1 file.
1. After reviewing the error and searching the web I had read that it could be a possible heat issue, which didn't make sense as the first time I was just browsing the web. Idle the CPU is 30c and the GPU (SLI) is 40c for each card.
2. I downloaded the Unigine Heaven benchmark and ran it
3. PC shutdown in the middle of the benchmark and gave me different results in the post shutdown message. Files are in the Shutdown #2 file.
I used arctic silver on the cpu and on the gpu's. Everything is connected tightly and the only other thing installed is a wireless pci card which should have no problem. I used to use the exact same components on a gigabyte board (p55-usb3). The only reason I installed the Biostar Motherboard was to install another GTX 470 and run SLI.Everything seems normal as far as temps, the pc isn't slow, etc.I just decided to turn it off to avoid any possible damage and take the files I grabbed and post on a forum. This seemed like a good place to continue.
this started happening a few weeks ago, my PC for some reason starts typing qqqqqqqq on its own.I checked and NO the letter is not stuck , it is making it very hard to chat or do anything that requires writing. View 3 Replies View RelatedThe original OS was Windows XP 32bit SP3. I upgraded this system to Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit SP2 with no issues.
I then went to upgrade the system to Windows 7 Premium. I chose the "Upgrade" install and not the "Clean" install. I've checked the updater to confirm that all my system information was adequate. I uninstalled the ATI Catalyst Controller, iTunes, etc. that it wanted me to. Oddly enough, the ATI Catalyst Controller was the most recent driver that supports Windows 7.
I checked online to see if the hardware was all supported by Windows 7. The Sapphire Vapor-X video card was not compatible or compatible... it simply wasn't on the list of either. The X-Fi Extreme Gamer said it was NOT compatible... yet, I had a driver for Windows 7 and the Windows 7 Application checker said that my sound card was ready for Windows 7... thus a discrepency.
I went on with the installation. I get to the last step where it resets the computer at 62% and I get a BSOD for about 1/3 of a second. It goes by too quickly for me to capture it. It then restarts the computer instantly with the result of "Upgrade was not completed successfully. Restoring prior OS yadda yadda". I've gone through this about 5 times now trying different things.. keeping the Catalyst controller installed, uninstalling the video card, removing the sound card, etc. Nothing seems to work.
It was recommended to me that I do a clean install... however, I have read that many others have done a clean install and theirs STILL doesn't get past the 62%.
Is it my hardware? Do I need to buy MORE hardware now that 7 is out that is on the compatible list?
I also have the "Cat Meow" problem on my computer AND it is NOT a screwed up cooling fan. It's interesting that when there is no answer people resort to a little humor. The sound(s) (including a lions roar), randomly occur. They are short and sweet, not really that annoying but curiosity persists as to their origination.

Even after restoring it to factory systems three times, I still get random BSODs. And I can never recreate how it happens. Sometimes it won't happen for a whole day, sometimes it will happen every other minute. Downloaded BlueScreen viewer and it gives me a bunch of information. Will upload that.

audio and video drivers are updated to lastest version.I had no problem with XP, but when I installed Windows 7 (64bits), I started to get a wierd bug.At random times, the computer seems to freeze for about a second then get back to normal.
