A while ago all of my services were set off. I manually restored each and every proper one. But still, whenever I turn on my laptop from hibernation and shut down,my internet anttanae does not automaticlly connect to the internet.
View 2 RepliesI have a Win7 64 bit build that I've ran into connectivity problems with. I can get on some websites, cannot get onto others. Can get to the home page on some, but no further such as here, I can get to the main forum page, but then I cannot get into threads. Some sites, such as newegg, can't even get onto them. So far I've tried different browsers, including downgrading from FF4 to a FF3 version. IE8, Chrome, same issues. I have reason to believe that it's within the PC itself, whether it's software or hardware. I'm on my netbook right now running FF4 and don't have the same problems. I've even shut off the firewall and there is no other firewall or anti-virus on the PC.

The problem I'm having is when I log my computer off, or put the computer into sleep mode. After logging back on to my laptop it won't connect back to the router. I always get the orange star sign over the signal bars.If I try to re-connect by clicking on the signal bars in the bottom right hand side of the screen it won't connect.

View 3 Replies View Relatedjust last night after i was finished playing skyrim for the night, i saw on steam that i had no connection. so i looked towards the internet bars icon next to the clock and saw a yello triangle with a "!" in it. so i disconnected and reconnected but still the yellow "!". so i just decided i would try again tomorrow (today).when i woke up today it didn't have that error, so i decided to go to Internet on chrome, but it had that "webpage not available" (wouldn't work for ie either). i figured it would soon fix itself like it always had, so i tried playing mw3 on my xbox, but it wouldn't connect to live either o.o and when my mom wanted to watch netflix on the living room xbox, she couldn't connect either! then i figured out it was definatly my modem that was refusing to connect to anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a large screen TV that I need to run PowerPoint presentations on, and maybe video. The IT department set up Cat5 from the PC to the TV, but I cannot get anything from the PC to display.
I am trying this on two different computers. One is XP Pro, and the other is Windows 7 Pro. I would prefer the XP machine, but will sacrifice the Windows 7 machine to this if I have to.
Both the PC and the TV show connectivity at the ports, but there is no display on the TV. Multiple Monitors do NOT show in either machine.
I CAN connect to internet just fine using my wifi BUT I CAN NO LONGER connect to 198.192.1.1!!! Any idea how to solve this problem? I'm using a Dell Insprion 1545 and Win7 32-bit. I never had this issue before, jut popped up when I tried using ICS on a different laptop, an IBM thinkpad T42 also using Win7 and connected to the same network via wifi. Again I can connect to the internet just fine on all my laptops, but 192.168.1.1 (for my netgear router) returns "unable to connect" page!!! have verified (via ipconfig) that my gateway ip is 192.168.1.1. I have valid IPs on all the laptops, but cannot connect to router setup page.

I'm at the "Select the location of the sys image" and the computer doesn't show the DVD player. I tried downloading the dvd driver from Toshiba (WinDVD, I think) and put it on a thumb drive but it seems to be the wrong file type for getting my dvd working.

I've set my SATA3 port in ACPI mode, but still, Windows 7 simply cannot find my SSD. When I press install it says "A required CD/DVD drive device driver is missing"... The BIOS sees the SSD. From past week or so, the system tends to not go beyond a blank screen after turning the power button on. I've tried pressing F8 and also boot up using W7 disk, but nothing works. Its a blank screen, however, the system lights like power, bluetooth, keypad lights do turn on. I am posting the question from a different computer now.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my computer and Window 7 that I was hoping you could provide insight on how to fix. Recently I have noticed that Windows 7 doesn't want to shut down. Heck, it doesn't even restart and Hibernate. When I go to Shut down the only option it provides is Log Off. You can shut down after the the computer Logs Off my account, but this wasn't the case before.
I also feel it might be important to note that the computer prevents me from entering the Task Manager and Ctrl- Alt- Del no longer does anything.Is this an issue with the OS or could this be something like a Virus.
can't include information beyond what I'm typing as can't get past Windows logo screen before OS goes into page that states "Windows can't start" and requests either Repair or log on normally. Can't do either. Tried Repair, states can't repair and identifies problem as Windows Defender Offline. This is the last program I ran prior to having problems.
OS suggests recovery but OS won't do that either; suggests removing new hardware (none) or recently installed software (only Windows Defender Offline is new) and can't get at Control panel to remove it.
Running Dell Laptop Studio 1537 with Windows 7 Pro legal copy. Would like to get around this without losing my data, if possible, but have Windows 7 Pro if must reinstall?
Had to rebuild my DAW after my old mother board ate it. Got a new mobo and ram and put it together today. Installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. In My Computer, Windows only sees 2 of my drives. Then 2 options pop up, start normally and startup repair. When I choose start normally windows logo appears, then after minute out so bsod flashes and computer restarts. startup repair loads okay, blue wallpaper and cursor come up but that's all, I left my laptop for all night and nothing.Safe mode doesn't work.if that maters, I care about my laptop, its always on a desk, it doesn't overheat, I got antivirus and firewall.

It all began when I upgraded Ubuntu (have a dual-boot), made a clean install of the 12.04 version, seemed to get all partitions encrypted, then messed up the grub, and finally I had a hard time assigning auto-mount and read-write privileges to all of them.Ubuntu seems fine now, and Windows sleeps but can't hibernate (or allow the hybrid sleep).Windows' partition is listed as "boot", I disabled the option of auto-mount for Ubuntu, but it still doesn't work.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm not able to install windows 7. Been trying to install this since past 1 week. The methods I've tried are:
1. I have a windows 7 bootable DVD which doesn't boot up. (I've set BIOS to boot from DVD ROM first but it just won't boot from the DVD). Tried to install Windows 7 from the same DVD to a friend's PC and it worked. So the DVD has no issues.
2. I tried to run 'Setup.exe' from within the DVD. The two options pop-up 'Check compatibility' and 'Install now'. On clicking install now, after sometime, an error is encountered with the message 'Windows was unable to create a required installation folder' error code:0x8007000D.
I am running Windows XP Professional and there's only one user on the PC which is the Admin, so I do not know why is the setup not getting permissions. I've also uninstalled my antivirus, CD burning software, disabled firewall and disconnected all other devices, but its still the same.
3. I tried to install it from a USB device by making it bootable but that too doesn't work. (Yes the mobo supports booting from the USB).
The problem is that XP does not recognize a 'USB' device on boot. Rather it shows this USB stick as a removable 'Hard Drive'. Furthermore, i changed the order of Hard Drive boot to boot from this removable Hard Drive first, it still boots my existing OS. I want to dual boot windows 7 with my existing XP, but that would be after I manage to run the windows 7 setup in the first place.
I recently purchased a copy of x64 Windows 7 Business. I downloaded it from the Online store DigitalRiver as part of the students deal.

I burned the x64 Windows 7 installation files onto a DVD. I am aware that it is not going to run from my current OS since it is x32.
My Boot order is the following: DVD/CD ROM -> HDD
I tried to boot with the x64 Windows 7 DVD but it simply didn't. So I decided to format my computer using the x32 Vista DVD.
After the format, I tried to boot with the x64 Windows 7 DVD and it failed again.
So I re-installed x32 Vista and I still cannot boot with the x64 Windows 7 DVD.
i bought Windows 7 some time ago but I havent got it working and one of my friends said that this is the best place for help. Thats what usually happens: I put in Windows 7 dvd and make a restart to boot it. When my computer sais press any key to boot i press enter and everything goes like it should. It loads files and then comes that screen: I can move the mouse but nothing happens. I'm not sure for how long i have to wait but i waited about 10 min and nothing happens and then i pressed the restart key. Then my computer dosent go past Verifying DMI pool data and i have to close my computer and then XP runs again. I tryed all this again but the result was the same and then i thought i install Windows 7 from my deskop. I used autorun, pressed install and everything went very smoothly. It installed everything withhout any problems until it had to do a restart after installing. After restart im back to that blue screen what i showed above only that a small line was moving at the bottom. Nothing happens and because it dosent move i restart my computer then it dosent go past Verifying DMI pool data until i shut my computed down and then i get a message that installed failed and xp will be restored. Im seriously out of ideas and Microsoft isnt interested of helping me to. They said contact my motherboard maker what i did and they said Windows 7 works and ask Microsoft

View 5 Replies View RelatedInstall Windows, PC works perfectly, install drivers still works, reboot it and still works, shut down then after 5 minutes turn on it still works, install some programs and it still works(always reboot, shuting down and turning on to see if there is a program that causes the problem).Until this point everything is OK but at night I shut down the PC to go to my bed and when I wake up and turn it on, Windows just freezes at Starting Windows screen, even the logo doesn't show up. So sometimes I use a recovery point and sometimes I have to format and reinstall Windows because all my recover points just disappear, when I use one of the two things I said I'm able to start Windows again but when I shut it down again the problem happens again.
