Cannot Connect To Wireless Home Network Anymore With Laptop
Jul 5, 2011I have a toshiba windows 7 Laptop, and its always been connected to my Virgin Internet wirelessly for bout 2 years. However now when i switch the laptop on, it does not connect to the wireless internet anymore. My network comes up in the wireless network connections box but as soon as i click on it it pops straight up and says windows was unable to connect to xxxxx etc.I have tried turning of router etc for 10 seconds and plugging it back in but nothing. i have checked my wireless adapter card for drivers and it says i have latest drivers.Everything else in the house, ie phones, playstation etc connects to the network fine, and when i hard wire my laptop to the router again it works fine (am using laptop now to type this)

The problem I'm having is when I log my computer off, or put the computer into sleep mode. After logging back on to my laptop it won't connect back to the router. I always get the orange star sign over the signal bars.If I try to re-connect by clicking on the signal bars in the bottom right hand side of the screen it won't connect.

Jun 10, 2011Just bought a new lap top HP Pavillion few weeks ago, the laptop found my wireless network straighaway and all ok for last couple of weeks.Just this week for no reason at all my laptop can't connect to the internet, I get a yellow fuzzy or a hazard sign over the signal icon, if I hover over it says connection strength excellent, I see my network, click connect, I wait, prompt for the diagnostic, then it just says "cannot connect to the internet" My old laptop is XP and has also lost the internet.The actual desktop PC has internet connection as it is hard wired from the blue ethernet. So I plugged the blue ethernet cable directly into the laptop it took a while but finally connected but after a short while it went again even though it was still physically connected.My next step was to power down the router and the cable modem, still no joy.I went to PC world and they suggested installing any updates, which I did (apart from the IE9), still no joy.

I have a home network with many other devices, including 2 other laptops, that are connected just fine. With the cable I get the dreaded "error 651" and wireless I get "unable to connect" Troubleshooting the latter I get "investigate the router or access point". Well, it's working for all other devices. I tried getting the laptop to connect using the hotspot on my iPhone and that was fine so it's not the hardware.

THe problem i am having started on and off, Out of nowhere it would say that my computer has lost internet connectivity in the little wireless strength bar icon, then it would gain connectivity a couple seconds or minutes later. out of the 4 people who live here it is only my laptop... but now my computer can't connect to the network at all wirelessly.. at the moment im all cramp up connected to the router by ethernet cable since this is the only way i can get on the internet. The weird thing is its only this connection, when i go home to my real house the wireless is flawless. im a college student who is renting a house with room mates.

Next, when I launch a "system repair" it goes through the process but freezes in the blue "system repair" screen without even showing anything..just the blue background sunshine screen and is just stuck there...under "Advanced Boot Options" the "Last Known Good Configuration" gives me no luck either...I then try "Safe Mode" and under "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" it freezes while "Loading Windows Files" and the last file/driver it shows is windowssystem32DRIVERSAtiPcie.sys
I don't know what else to do...I have a Windows 7 64-bit boot disc but this is my small laptop which doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. I can use my USB drive if necessary but I attempted to do that but maybe there is some special way I must install it on my USB drive?

IE won't display any pages and I can't even ping Google from a command prompt! I am able to see all available networks wirelessly and am having the same problems on multiple routers. When I leave my computer on for a bit and walk away, the screen will turn off by itself (this is not standby!!!) and sometimes, the keyboard or mouse seems to have lost its connection to the computer, and will not respond to anything, I have to hit the reset button.
